Whilst certain faults were experienced ( noisy a/c, light switch behind bathroom door), the hotel facilities are excellent, as are the staff. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to others. December 21, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great place but Executive rooms are not up to scratch Staff at the Crowne Plaza are on par with the best we have ever known. Nothing is too much trouble and they are very helpful and polite. Hotel is spotless and a freindly bar and pool area. However we booked an executive room on the 14th floor, you need a pass for the executive levels on 14th and 15th floors. We have stayed in lower ordinary rooms before and there is no difference apart from shampoo and other toiletries. There is a chocolate on the bed at night and as far as we could tell no way was this room an executive room. I was told there is a separate dining area which we tried but thats nothing impressive, it was just a basic room to sit in. We were very underwhelmed with the executive room. If we had not been so busy we would have left after the first nigfht. The staff had a struggle to explain the difference between an ordinary room and an executive room. Hotel is great for a basic room, but the executive rooms are a waste of money as you get the same in a basic room. Not located on International drive so another negative, but as we knew where it was this was no problem to us but may be to others without transport. December 16, 2013

The beds and pillows were great, I was sick the two days I was there so this was more important than ever getting a good nights sleep. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall nice, especially using reward points They would like you to be able to say that your stay was a 10, and indeed the stay itself was very pleasurable. They upgraded my reward night to Executive Level and put me in an end unit room with EXCELLENT views of the Disney Fireworks. The experience while onsite was very nice. What was not so nice was the experience afterwards, and it is for this that I cannot give this hotel a 10. As I had reward nights, I had to place a hold on my visa. OK, I get that. What I do not get is them not releasing the hold in a timely fashion. Granted it was a holiday weekend, but on Tuesday I checked with my bank and was notified by them that the hold was not released. I called hotel, was assured by the front desk that the hold was released. Three days later, I called my bank, still a hold on the account. I had to call the hotel back and tell them that they had NOT released the account. They eventually agreed to call visa and fax them the paperwork but first tried to give me a story about how it might take a few days (it had been 4) then wanted to blame it on being a debit card (it was not, it was an actual visa card). So basically I had to argue with them to get the hold released. Really marred the experience. November 16, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by One night stay Upon check in your staff member could not find reservation...I handed him my ihg card and then he said oh yes here it is...I was under the impression I had paid for my night stay upon booking since it said on your website it had to be paid in full and couldn't be cancelled...I am waiting for my credit card statement to make sure I was not charged twice for my stay, Agent advised me he did not shoe even though I showed him my confirmation on my phone. We were given a room on the 14 th floor....air condition super noisy...found coins under chair which meant room probably had not been cleaned properly....Great experience at the bar, the gentleman attending it was super friendly and attentive. From the second we got there we had a huge welcome pack including sunscreens, snacks, outdoor plastic cups, towel and some extra things. Blew us away. Thanks Claudine, an absolute asset to the hotel. The staff are amazing and always willing to do what ever is needed to make our stay more comfortable and fun. A massive thank you to Ricardo, Lisandra, Gary, Vicki, Anthony, Jason, Kevin, Jim, Doug, Phil, Anthony, Betty, Jen and yeah and the front desk/valet guy that asked me for ID for a room key. Everyone had a laugh out of that one. Your identity will remain a secret to protect you..haha. An extra special thankyou to Claudine for putting up with us and just making it the best stay. Also to Matt the absolute best bar tender in Orlando. If either of these staff ever went else were it would be very hard not to follow they just made our stay. Not taking away from anyone else, they whole crew are amazing The great thing about everyone there is we get treated like a mate/friend not a number. This hotel is the best kept secret in Orlando. We hope it stays that way :-) Nothing better than having only a few people by the pool. Great Pool area music and a good selection of games in and around the games room. Could go on and on about how great this place is but instead we are planning the next visit next year November 2, 2013

The rooms are always so clean and spacious, and the bed is so comfortable! My boyfriend and I slept like babies :) The buffet breakfast was delicious, the staff was very friendly, and the hotel itself is beautiful itself! Can you tell I love this hotel? Lol trust me, stay here! The price was so cheap, too! Lot of bang for your buck on this one. October 24, 2013

Appreciated the upgrade to the Executive Floor and use of the Executive lounge (recognition of Platinum status in the Hotel Group's loyalty programme) - top marks to Barbara in the lounge for her friendly welcoming service. The hotel is conveniently situated for Universal Studios, Island of Adventure and Wet & Wild with many restaurants and other attractions in the area. The hotel has ample (free) parking. There is a large swimming pool - good facility. As a platinum member of the loyalty programme, I have experienced many Executive Lounges over the years. This is the first I have encountered where nearly all the drinks are charged for (most Cowne Plaza/Intercontinental Hotels offer all drinks as complimentary in the Executive Lounges) - only draught beer was complimentary here. This seems to me to indirectly discriminate against female guests as men are more likely to drink beer - provided here free whereas women tend to prefer wine - charged for. I last stayed here in 2005 and recall that wine was complimentary at that time. In addition, the Executive Lounge does not open on Friday & Saturday evenings, so weekend guests staying on the Executive floors at weekends receive an inferior service to those guests staying Sunday to Thursday! In the early hours of one morning, the fire alarms sounded and the Hotel evacuated (not the Hotel's fault - a guest apparently thought it was a joke to set off the alarm) but with the guests standing outside (some in bathrobes - one man in his underwear) no member of staff saw fit to come out and inform the guests what was going on - poor leadership and customer care. The cleaning arrangements appeared, at times, to be a bit haphazard - on 2 occassions we returned to the hotel in the late afternoon/early evening to find the room had not been serviced - discovered later that happened because we had had the "privacy" sign on the room door until we left the hotel late morning - even though we had removed the sign before 12.00 noon, we had "missed" the cleaning staff and the onus was apparently on us to notify reception/housekeeping that we wanted the room servicing. We twice ate in the bar/restaurant and the meals were of good quality October 6, 2013
