Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great stay The staff is great from the front desk to the shuttle drivers. Had a great stay. Will stay there again. January 29, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Customer Service Skills I was charged the deposit fees of $50.00 that the hotel forget to release and after calling them twice I was told that it was my Bank's fault. The 'accountant' also charged my card a dollar in an attempt to remove it and reversed the charges but it still did not resolve the issue. My bank make the effort to get on the phone with Crowne Plaza and after a Royal run around with the staff the customer service supervisor finally got on the phone and brushed me off stating they were refunding me 'and what more do I want'? Horrible customer customer, they did not bother to listen to their customer. They made the mistake not once but twice and were quick to blame my bank for an error on their part but would not speak to me or the bank about it. Rather rushed me off the phone saying 'she was too busy and needed to attend to other customers' I had not had an issue with them till now and the first issue I had it was handled absolutely horribly and unprofessionally. Customer skills are none and they do not listen to their customers. I wouldn't recommend for stay unless you have the patience to spend weeks/ days resolving the financial issues and are okay with horrible treatment from the staff. January 24, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Cold Room and Lackluster Staff Stayed five nights for work and I've never been so happy to leave a hotel. It was 30 degrees Fahrenheit outside and my room was icy cold. After fighting with the heater all night (and not sleeping) thinking it was just my room I called and was told the broiler for part of the hotel was broken and no ETA on a fix and was given an extra blanket. I find out the next day from co-workers staying at the hotel there were space heaters available (no one offered me one) - some people even had two or three in their room. So I called the second night and was told one would be brought up. I waited quite a few hours and called again, I got a very un-inspired "sorry we ran out" with a promise to have one the next day. When I got back to my room after a long day I thankfully had one. The bathroom was still frozen but at least the bed area was warm enough to sleep. Other than that the front desk staff was generally lackluster (one exception was when I checked in). The rest of the hotel was mostly freezing (we were meeting in rooms there and many had to wear coats). The only bright spots was housekeeping, who did a great job, and the staff at the dining area. Maybe they should be running the place. January 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great place to stay! I stayed with my 3 children when they came to visit my youngest and I at Lucile Packard Childrens Hospital. It is very close to the hospital, the room was beautiful, very quiet. They upgraded us to a patio pool view, the kids and I got in the spa that night. Beds were comfortable and everyone at the hotel couldn't have been nicer. Also parking was right outside the room when you stay in the exterior part of the hotel. January 23, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Frequent Traveler - Staff really takes care of me I visit the Crowne Plaza two or three times per month. They really know how to take care of you. Warm welcome. Helpful staff. My first choice of place to stay in the area. January 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great Hotel At first, as I looked for my room around the back of the hotel, I thought I was going to be disappointed, but upon entry, I found the room clean and well decorated. The huge bathroom housed a large closet that contained 2 suitcase stands (I don't think I've ever had 2 stands in 1 room); extra pillows and blankets - and all the normal amenities. The bathroom had 2 frosted glass panels that allowed a bit of light to shine through to the main part of the room. I loved the high back guest chair. We stayed at the hotel due to the wedding of a friend - and the ceremony and reception were beautiful! Staff was helpful and friendly. The only hitch to the wedding ceremony is that the silky runner they laid down on the stone tiles for the bride and her bridesmaids to walk down caused a slippery situation for the girls who all wore high heeled shoes. That was not well thought out! Otherwise, I would highly recommend the hotel! November 27, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great hotel Very good stay. Opted for queen sized bed's room, but was upgraded to Kings size due to availability. November 23, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Couldn't Be Better! We always love staying at the Crowne Plaza Palo Alto. All of the staff at the front desk were wonderfully friendly helpful and we were given a very nice room upgrade at check-in. The room was perfect and we could not have enjoyed our stay more. We spent some time in the lounge, where, again, everybody was friendly and fun to be around. November 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Keeps up to date This property continues to stay current and not look as old as it must be. Large bathroom with great amenities and a quiet stay make this a place I will definitely stay again. November 18, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Perfect in every way! Everything about our stay was absolutely perfect! The room was beautiful, comfortable and spotless. Every member of the staff that we came in contact with was friendly and helpful, and the Front Desk Supervisor (Zeenal) went out of her way to make sure that we had an unforgettable visit. The complimentary breakfast buffet was delicious! We enjoy the Crowne Plaza Cabana more than any other hotel that we stay at and we will be back every time we have an excuse to visit the Bay Area! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice bed, nice people Staff was very nice and our bed was good. We used the restaurant a few times and the food was quite nice. My chief complaint was the shower...I couldn't even wash my hair because the pressure in the shower was so pathetic. If I HAVE to come to Palo Alto again, I would probably stay there, but the showers just have to be improved. I know California should always be in conservation mode (I worked for a major water utility), but this was absurdly unpleasant. October 27, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonderful Experiene The room and bed were very comfortable. We were impressed with free snacks, waters, slippers. The bathroom was ample and I enjoyed the bathtub. The robes were very luxurious. The view out of our 7th floor room was amazing. We enjoyed the lounge and complimentary drinks. We were not able to enjoy the pool and spa but plan to do so on our next stay. A great value! October 18, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Smelly Room, Friendly Service, overpriced breakfast I wasn't expecting high-end comfort when I booked this reservation, but I do like a clean, relatively fresh-smelling room. The hotel exterior and lobby are presentable and relatively inviting. We were placed in one of the rooms that faced an outdoor second-story walkway, with viewing from the walkway into each of the rooms, which gave the room more of a motel feel than a hotel. I don't think all of the rooms are set up this way, but this is what we got. When we entered the room the smell was almost overwhelming. It really stunk, can't tell you of what, just an old musty smell, probably because the room had no outdoor-facing windows and was constantly closed up. It was gross. The breakfast was ok, definitely overpriced for the buffet. October 13, 2012
