Outdated and Dirty Pool Water

March 25, 2015

I stayed this past weekend in a double bed room. First off the double beds were two full beds instead of the standard two queen beds. Two normal size people do not fit on a full size bed. Secondly, we went into the pool and jacuzzi and the water was GREEN! There were a lot of kids and one of them found a piece of gum in the jacuzzi. I made these items apparent to the general manager and nothing was done to improve our stay. Also, no rewards points were offered upon arrival as most IHG hotels offer.

A disappointment

March 23, 2015

I have always viewed Crowne Plaza hotels as an above-average brand for IHG. My recent experience indicates otherwise. This hotel is older, and it shows. In an age where queen beds are the standard in a hotel, our room only had double beds. Additionally there was only one very uncomfortable chair in the room. There was no "comfort" chair and no sofa. For one night, the hotel would have been fine, but for an extended stay, we would have been happier in a Holiday Inn Express.

The parking was ample and easily accessible. The lobby and common areas of the hotel were large and nicely presented.

The staff at the hotel were very pleasant and professional.

Not a Crowne that I'm use to

March 23, 2015

The property was outdated and worn. When I stay at a Crowne, I expect an updated room, increased menu choices, a professional staff and better curb appeal. I felt that the daily room rate was very high as I felt like I was staying at a last chance H.I.. I ordered a roll-a-way bed for a friend and was very disappointed in the one that we first received. The mattress was thin and all springs. Luckily, the next night, housekeeping replaced it - thank you. The employee that we enjoyed the most and seemed to really like his job was a young man named Matt who was hired by a temp agency to work the weekend due to the expected high volume/ capacity of the hotel guests. I would be offering him a regular job! The pool/chlorine smell was apparent throughout the hotel. My room overlooked the pool area which was a bad location for someone who goes to sleep early or has to work on business. The activity at the pool can be noisy.
