Our room was spacious, clean, and comfortable. Staff was friendly. Bath soaps were nice, and the bathroom had a magnifying mirror. Buffet breakfast in the dining room had a nice variety of food and was good.

This is a great location and the rooms are great. Price was reasonable for my company to stay there and within 5 minutes from my home. They are loved it. Thanks to all.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vic1958 Great location, service good
The Crowne is in a excellent location, service always good. The rooms could be more comfy, but always clean. For the price, I think the rooms could have more amenities. Plus, the overall price is high, I mainly stay their for location, and clean. The service is always great, but once again, pricey. So far, I don't feel anymore special as a Priority Club member.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kathy590 Great place and especially night staff
Arrived during one the snows of the winter. The lobby was warm and cozy with the fireplace and the room was very comfortable. The heating unit was quite - not one of those extremely noisy ones which made for a very comfortable nights sleep. Pillows were full & fluffy but would compress down so as not to put a crick in your neck when sleeping on your stomach. The hotel lounge was great place to relax and visit with family.
We grew up in the area and I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Vic1958 Only thing I didn't like, was the sheets, very starchy stiff, not comfy
Everything else about the hotel, if very nice. I don't understand, why they wouldn't make the beds, more comfy. That was the only problem I had, they were not comfortable. The bed was fine, but sheets were real stiff.

The staff was wonderful and assisted me in several ways to make my stay and my family's stay for a week very nice and comfortable. Special thanks to Richard and Eric for their assistance to obtain extra accomadations for my family. If I get back to Pittsburgh I will be staying at Crown Plaza.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by VACMAN Room & Facilities Great, Reservation & Billing Logistics Need Improvement
Location, Room, Bar, PJ's Grille, and group rate (~30 rooms) were outstanding.
Made arrangements for large party months in advance of Son's wedding. Called a few days in advance and found considerable confusion on specifics with regard to number of rooms and room locations. Issues were resolved in time.
Requested in advance that I be charged for my children's rooms. Unfortunately, children's credit cards were charged for their rooms. Was able to resolve at checkout for the most part. Found out a week later that my Son's wedding suite was charge to his credit card even though I received the bill at checkout (very embarrassing).
Was charged a higher rate (vs. the group rate) for one of my children's rooms. Credit card was credited for the difference two weeks later.
I hosted a buffet lunch for wedding guests at PJ's Grille. The staff did a great job arranging this event and the breakfast was excellent. Was told in advance that a discounted rate will apply assuming more than 40 guests attended. A total of 60 guests participated. Unfortunately, I was billed at the normal rate. Credit card was credited for the difference two weeks later.
Still have one minor billing issue which is unresolved. Requested an explanation of the charge two weeks ago and have not received a reply.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by travelersarewe24 First time in Pittsburgh
We were looking for a hotel outside of the city to save a little money and the value we got here was awesome! It was close to downtown and we got to see a little more of what Pittsburgh had to offer by staying there. The staff when we checked in were very personable and accommodating. The bed and pillows were very comfortable. There was a decorative sheet on the bed that had a stain on it (that was kind of a turn off) but we didn't have to use it anyway. We had some drinks at the bar that evening and Jeff, the bartender, was so very nice and personable as well. The next morning we had the Sunday brunch and there was a very wide variety of food. It was very pricey ($17 per person..highway robbery) and some of the food that was sitting out tasted old and crunchy (the bacon was horrible). The waffle and omelet guy was good, except he kept sitting on the floor when there wasn't a customer...maybe a chair next time? All in all our stay was very good and we had a great time in Pittsburgh. We will be back if we don't stay in the city next time. Thanks!

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by teddy2 would stay here again but hallways smokey
Stayed in a 2 room suite with lovely fireplace. Room clean and spacious. Min from house keeping was very nice and helpful. Breakfast and room service were very good. Food was delicious and service was prompt. Great location in the South Hills area of Pittsburgh. Only negative comment that our non smoking floor absolutely wreaked of smoke. Reported it to staff two days in a row but nothing changed. That is the only reason I am giving the review a good instead of an excellent. It is supposed to be a smoke free hotel and this was important to us in our selection of this hotel for our trip.

Having seen the pictures of exterior and hearing the
hotel was somewhat old and had changed hotel brands
several times I was not certain what to expect.
I was pleasantly surprised by the cleanliness and general
We were in town to attend a famiy funeral so had a
group and was quite convenient to everywhere we
needed to be, i.e, church, restaurants, etc.

I have stayed at many hotels in the Pittsburgh area and this by far is my favorite. I always stay in the jacuzzi rooms, as my visits are mostly for pleasure; and both of the jacuzzi suites are wonderful. The people at the front desk are very kind and the room service is very good. Would definitely recommend this hotel.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by steelerfan88 Always stay here when visiting Pittsburgh
love location near mall and train station. Was in town for Steelers game and have stayed here 3 or 4 times staff always great. This time the only room open was suite which was way more than we needed but nice. Pittsburgh was crazy crowded and a lot of traffic and construction which resulted in confused gps and long commute in the car. Ride the train

My Brother died unexpectedly so I needed to stay in Pittsburgh.
Noone gives any Bereavment rates any mor and the hotel was kind enough to offer one. This made a big difference.
The beds are WONDERFUL...Location GREAT
and the grill made it convenient to stay inside and eat when it was so cold we had to since we had left 80 degrees in Georgia.
for someone who doesn't drink anything but coffee or coke...it wouldbe nice to have coffee available all day.
For a very unpleasent journey, this Crown Plaza helped a lot.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Melinda920 Overall, very good stay
The staff at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsburgh were by far the best feature. Very friendly and helpful. We stayed there last weekend for the Bruce Springsteen concert. We got a tip from a friend that lives in the area to stay there and take the train into town. Best advice ever. The hotel was nice, not overly extravagant and it was clean. The rooms were a nice size and clean. However, the bathroom wallpaper looked old and was peeling in the corners. But, still very clean. The only downside is that we were in a room where it adjoined not just one other room but two! And, the walls were paper thin. We could hear everything in the rooms next to us. We only stayed one night but I would stay there again. Definitely recommend.

The Crowne Plaza is great, not only in it's location, but it's service. I was part of a group who came for a high school reunion/fundraiser and thus received a discount. Our group was given a complimentary hospitality suite room which was much appreciated and well used. The hotel staff came and asked if they could bring us anything and when we requested more chairs and some cups, they were brought in less than 5 minutes by wonderful staff.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Percivas Great stay!
First time in Pittsburgh for a Steelers game, we stayed 2 nights at the Crowne Plaza, and would definitely stay there again. Check-in was flawless and front desk staff were all pleasant and helpful. Rooms are small - especially the entryway - but 4 adults stayed in 1 room without any problems. Bathrooms are spacious and well-stocked with towels, beds and linens were clean and comfortable.
Location is a bit far from downtown, but the "T" (subway/train) station is a few blocks away and within walking distance. Better, a shuttle is available to take you to the station, and we used it a few times - the drivers were fantastic and friendly!! The trains are inexpensive and run frequently to the downtown area, which was convenient to take to both the game, and Station Square (an area with great restaurants, bars, and shops).
Located in the hotel is a restaurant called PJ's, and we ate breakfast there both mornings. There is a buffet available, but we ate off the menu and the prices were really reasonable. Food was good, and we would recommend it.
