Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Walking up a flight of stairs to room = not good We were booked for a poolside room. 1) the area around the indoor pool is very humid - and it was hard to cool down the room (each time you open the door the humid air came rushing in. We went out and bought a "fan" at CVS to help cool down the room. 2) We had to take our suitcases up a fllight of stairs to get to the room. Unfortunately the hotel was full - so we didn't have an option for another room. I took the suitcases up the stairs - and the room wasn't ready - even though we had been checked in. So the suitcases went back down the stairs - and we hung out in the lobby for an hour (and we were at the hotel at normal check in time). Then I had to take the suitcases back up the stairs - and on leaving back down the stairs. Don't book a poolside room if you don't want to carry your stuff up a flight of stairs - since half the poolside rooms are not accessable without hiking up stairs. August 11, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Over priced Checked in late and was given a room with another guest in it. The guest was asleep, it startled them as well as me. Breakfast was expensive. I had the bufett that was cold. When I checked out I had to wait 30 minutes to get an updated bill. Not a great experience. Will stay in another hotel next time. Rooms are very expensive for what you get. August 4, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by good location The location is good for a visit to the Berkshires. Other amenities not up to Crowne Plaza standards. The room is small, hotel is fair, parking is not great. Would recommend based on location As a rewards member should have at least a bottle of water. Also no refrig in room. August 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by OK The staff was incredible, lobby was gorgeous but I was disappointed about various things. Firstly. my room was not clean enough. there was a stain on my sheet. Most hotels that I have been to have a 24 hour gym, yet this gym closed by 10pm which is fairly early. It was a fine hotel stay. I really liked the staff. I also appreciated the fridge that was put in my room to store my food. July 28, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Best location in Pittsfield We really enjoyed our recent stay at the Crowne Plaza in Pittsfield. The convenient in-town location allowed us to walk around town and visit the historic buildings, go to restaurants, and generally enjoy the beautiful downtown area. The hotel lobby is elegant, and the rooms were immaculate and well appointed, and the beds were extremely comfortable. We would definitely return to this hotel the next time we visit Pittsfield. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Weddings and Business just don't mix I'll preface this by saying that we understand that when there are large weddings taking place in a hotel, service suffers, noise increases and the general atmosphere is diminished by the party atmosphere. There were two large wedding parties and one large baseball camp happening at this venue on the weekend we were there. That meant that there were a lot of teenagers wandering around and making noise as well as what you might expect from large weddings. Breakfast was impossible since they kept running out of silverware, glasses and food. The young boys seemed to be fueled on bacon and bread. On both evening when we went to the bar for what we hoped would be a quiet drink, there were large groups of loud people in the pool, which connected to the bar. Outside the bar there were twenty 'adults' all with their own liquor and mixes and ice having a loud party. Why management allows folks to bring their own liquor into public areas and right next to a bar makes no sense at almost every level. I'm sure that during the week this would be a good hotel since it is centrally located, has good free parking and would be quieter. We just chose the wrong weekend. July 5, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Surprised!! We did not expect such a nice experience at this hotel. The staff were personable and friendly. They accommodated our needs very well (we had our dog with us). The free internet is a definite perk. I am a student and need to access the web daily. Only complaint -- I wish there was a small refrigerator in the room. Vending machines didn't work and I prefer to have my snacks/drinks in my room in a fridge. June 23, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 Very disappointed We had stayed at the Pittsfield Crowne Plaza a few years back and wasn't impressed back then. Recently we needed to make another trip back to Pittsfield, in search of a place to stay I saw on the internet that it had gone through a complete remodeling in 2011. With it's great location, we decided to give it another try, What a mistake! When booking the room I was put on hold after waiting for 20 minutes I finally hung up and called back. The staff member handling my second call was apologetic, friendly and helpful. Upon arrival the staff member checking us in was pleasant and answered all of our questions, he was great! A different story when checking out! We questioned the charge on our bill for our car, the staff member we delt with that time had an attitude and was not pleasant at all! She told us that it was the fee to keep the car on the hotel property, a fee that was never disclosed when we reserved the room. If we had known we would of parked on the street by the hotel. I think the only thing that was remodeled in 2011 was the lobby entrance. The hallway leading to our room was as old as we remembered, the room had the same old carpets - that didn't even look clean, there was peeled off wallpaper on the walls, the bed was so old and broken in that when you layed in it you rolled down to the center - very uncomfortable, the A/c unit did not work at times, the make up mirror in the bathroom was loose and hanging from the wall by a single screw and the shampoo that came with the room was aweful! But to be fair it did have a flat screen TV, they did upgrade that. The location of this hotel is great, but check out the room before you stay here!! June 19, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by love this hotel but... I love this daughter's wedding party and guests all stayed here. I've been here several times since. The reception room and such for wedding parties are very elegant. I always try to get the poolside rooms. They are wonderful...right next to the perfectly heated pool and wonderful jacuzzi. These rooms are big, with two sinks, one outside the bathroom, good beds, nice flat screen tv's, are advertised to come with a fridge, so if none in the room, ask for it. There was a hitch in this stay. The holidex computer system somehow merged me with someone else's account or something, because my address in the reservation said I lived in California, but I live in CT, and it made me reservations for 2014 instead of 2013. Fortunately, I called to inquire about something before, and Grace noticed the discrepancy. I hadn't yet printed out my reservation e-mail, the original screen when I made the reservation was correct, so I didn't know about the later computer error. Fortunately I happened to call, or I might have been out of luck for reservations. Grace helped me to make new reservations, she is a hard worker! But then the pool room was not available for the 3rd day of my reservation, so she advised wait, and cancellations would come in by the second day. But they did not. In fact, there were no reservations at all for the third day. This really put a wrench in my plans. On the third day, a reservation did come in, but I had already made alternative plans in another hotel in town, and changed my schedule there, and it was not a pool room, and I would have had to pack up and move rooms for one night. They said they would give me free parking, which I would expect anyway for a Platinum club member. All they gave me for this was three tiny chocolates at check-in. When I went to check out, the parking charges were not removed, and the desk attendant seemed skeptical of my story at first, finally did politely remove the parking charges. Jessica of one west is an amazingly great waitress!! She waited on four adults and our three children with our party with grace under pressure, as we were a challenging lot, with our young kids quite active, etc. June 7, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Older hotel needs work This is an older hotel that has been remodeled but needs to be renovated again. Overall the hotel has this "old feeling" that makes it unattractive. The HVAC controls in the room are not adequate. Seems like you can control the heat but not the AC. I found it too hot to sleep most nights. The parking garage is falling apart piece by piece. I'm glad I only parked my rental car there and not my own car. Even though I had a coupon, the breakfast buffet was not the greatest. I've had better selections elsewhere. It certainly was not worth the price they were charging for it. The soda vending machines were not working well. One was completely not working, the other one was working sometimes. It seems like that this place has seen better days. June 5, 2013

Parking garage is pretty bad; needs to be renovated. The reason for "poor sleep quality" is not the hotel itself, but that other guests were very noisy. May 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Great service Our stay was really fun and we found to pool and hot tub to be clean. Many times we have stayed at different places and have been disappointed by not being able to enjoy these things because they are either dirty or the chemicals are so out of wack and you can't breath and relax at the same time. Unfortunately while attending a benefit in the Ball Room my camera was stolen. I did leave it on the table so I take responsibility for not being careful enough. The part I would like to mention is the follow up by the staff to my reporting the camera missing. My first call that night was well received. I checked back in the morning and Jessica was very nice and said she would check on it but I didn't expect to hear anything back. She called back in a little while to tell me she had check again with the cleaning staff and that the security person was aware of the missing camera. Then after we arrived home my daughter received a phone call from someone saying they were sorry but the camera still had not been found. So I never got the camera back, I'll be more careful next time but I was really impressed with the follow up to my crisis. Luckily my husband had just removed all the pictures from the memory card. :) Thank you for the good service. We stay every year for this benefit and will continue to do so. April 17, 2013

It is quite annoying. Also, the coffee in the restaurant at breakfast is terrible! Very weak, with no flavor. March 29, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Our usual experience... minor flaws My fiance and I stay at the Crowne Plaza (Pittsfield) about 4 times a year. We usually have a good time and there are no major issues with our rooms or the service. Our last stay was ok and we had a few minor flaws.. First, I noticed that there was only ONE facecloth in the bathroom which was odd, because they always leave atleast 2-4 of them. Second, I went to use the tiny travel size lotion that is always in the basket in the bathroom along with the shampoos and such, and the lotion was empty! Then our third flaw was that I found a dirty sock that didn't belong to us! I found it under the TV on the narrow shelf of the dresser. I was totally stunned... I didn't report any of these issues.. I just laughed them off.. March 23, 2013

Then had a very satisfying breakfast in the Hotel. A great stopover before traveling to AUTO show in Albany. Nice place to relax and convenient to all your needs. March 22, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great bang for the buck Hotel lobby is nice, rooms are dated. Not sure where the alleged "renovations" took place but they were not in the guest rooms. Food was surprisingly good at the restaurants. No fridge which was a bummer. Not a lot of drawer space either. Pool was warm and fun for the kids. Hotel is close to many good restaurants and 20 minutes from J Peak. One caveat, they tried to charge us (and several others) more for our rooms then the rates at which we booked. Make sure you check and bring your reservation confirmation. The ski package cannot be beat for the value. January 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Poolside rooms great! These poolside rooms are great for swimming and then being right near your room. The pool was so warm and nice. The jacuzzi was almost a little too hot. The towel man kept us nicely with demand with constant re-stocking. The staff at desk was very nice. They gave us free breakfast coupons and parking because of platinum status and because pool was closed for a private party for awhile when we wanted to go there with our grandchildren. The dinner was very good--my steak was delicous, and my wife's chicken marsala also, my salad was huge--enough for both of us. I would bring back the baked half-chicken I think it was, cause I heard that was great. Breakfast was very good. The reception area on the first floor for bridal parties etc. is very elegant and beautiful, didn't look in the reception rooms as such. I would receommend brides consider it. This is much better than the other two Crowne Plazas I have visited in my state. October 14, 2012
