The hotel location was good if you wanted to be downtown. The room was clean, but had been well used over the years. Nice view from the room. I was on the 8th floor. When I arrived to the room I observed that there were no bath towels. At 1.15 p.m. I made a request for towels. They did not arrive and it took at least five calls to the front desk for them. Eventually they arrived at around 4.30 p.m. This was a slow reaction from the hotel staff. There was an excuse that the laundry was having problems. Surely there was a stock of towels at hand for a large hotel such as The Crowne Plaza. In this area the staff needs more training. The "Happy Hour" was pleasant and it was worth the effort to have an Executive Room. The restaurant was good. Some of the public rooms are in need of a re-decoration; they are starting to look tired. As with most good hotels in POM a little over priced, but this probably the influence of the PNG LNG project.

My room was not available for check in and the manager on staff had me sit up in the lounge. He came back every 30 minutes to check in with me on the status. Thanks.

It is excellent to arrange a free shuttle bus to international airport at 4:30 am in the morning for Qantas departing at 6:15 am.

1st night : room air con not working. Maintenance man took a long time to come to check it. Had to change room at 9pm.
New room : TV and safe not working. Repair man didn't come back until next morning to repair safe. He said he will be back in 5 mins and I waited 1 hour for him and had to go sleep at 11pm
Last night in hotel: got woken up at 4am by staff. Staff woke me up wrong time. Should be 7am wakeup call. Suffered bad headache whole day from the rude wakening. Not first time they cant get the wake up service done properly. My first stay : they forgot to wake me up and I almost missed my flight.

I travel to Port Moresby a few times a year on business. Crowne Plaza is always my first choice for accommodation.The main reason? Customer care, pure and simple. Nothing is too much trouble. Everything is done with a genuine smile. I am greeted like a member of family, not just an anonymous hotel guest. These things are so important when you're away from your own home base.
The hotel's location is also a big plus for me, right in the middle of town, saving the cost of hire cars.
I'll be back! Again and again.

Good location and acceptable price compared to other hotels in Port Moresby. The food was good, staff were friendly and helpful. I will continue going although laundry service is not the best.

I overnight away from home a lot due to my job and there is no where I sleep better than the Crowne Plaza, POM. The staff are extremely friendly and customer focused and always greet you with a warm smile. The major (only) downside to this hotel for me is the gym. It is need of a complete overhaul especially the weights/resistance section. A relatively small investment in the gym would make the Crowne Plaza the hotel of choice for me personally.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 Gym needs upgrading
Overall, my stay was wonderful. But gym has to improved - more exercise mats since floor appears to be dirty. Exercise machines also have to be upgraded. Treadmill machine is one of the best though.
