1. No place to keep towels in use. Unseen hook on door back is not adequate. 2. Pretty poor that Platinum Elite guests don't get free breakfasts. 3. Front desk personnel very nice.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by LM56 Great Week
I stayed approx., a week and had nothing but the best service and attention to detail. The food was superb, the wait service in the cafe was friendly and kind and the bartenders were the best I have been around and remembered my choice of beverage and conversation was super.
I was a part of the Portland Winterhawks block group and that is an advantage for us who have boys playing on the team: To be at a quality hotel so far away from home and have such attention to us after long flights and crowded airports is truly wonderful. Please continue this corporate relationship! Thanks so much for being our home away from home when we come to Portland!

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Doinnailz001 Comfy bed, nice Keurig
I was very dissappointed with my experience at this property.
I booked ahead and paid while booking only to be given a room less than I was promised for my payment upon checking in. I was unable to obtain the promised room as the hotel was filled with teenagers attending a convention. My money was non-refundable and I was forced to accept the given room.
The room faced east which afforded no view for the pricetag and our aircoonditioning was not sufficient.
We found the restaurant to be high priced with little pizzazz and marginal service. The bar staff was friendly and their top-notch service was appreciated.
Though it was not listed as an amenity on the website, the hotel's saltwater pool was delightful.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MRey Great customer service! A few cons though..
My Check-In experience was great! The concierge, Shea, was very accommodating and she ended up upgrading my 2 rooms and giving me 4 extra complimentary drink stubs for my stay, being it was my first time in Portland and also I thought it wouldn't hurt to ask. because of the upgrade, I signed up to become a rewards member. I'd definitely come back to this property for future stays.
My rooms were good. just a few comments though, when i stepped into 917 i could smell a little bit of smoke, i didn't ask to be transferred anymore because it was late and we had been travelling the whole day. Both front doors to my rooms wouldn't close properly unless we had to slam it shut.
Overall, my experience at this hotel was very good and the pros outweighed the cons.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointed300 Terrible value for the price
Tiny rooms, beds were good. Bathroom was so small you can barely turn around. Parking lot view for this price?? Restaurant food and service was horrible!!! Thin walls, you hear everything. Valet was the only above average service.

My family and I thought our entire stay was awesome. Randee the concierge was SOOO friendly and helpful, housekeeping was punctual and efficient, the room was great. My kids loved the pool and the elevator (especially how you have to use your room key to access your floor!). I was able to use the gym while I was there, also -- very clean and accessible. No complaints, just a positive experience.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by FoxnL Dim Lighting, Tub Didn't Drain & Excellent Bar Staff
The bar staff was EXCELLENT, bar menu also wonderful! The lighting in the bathroom & closet/mini-kitchenette area was MUCH TOO DIM, it was extremely inadequate & frustrating! Women NEED good lighting to apply make-up & dress. It was a feeling of being in the "Twilight Zone". The bath tub didn't drain; water filled the tub while showering & took long to drain out after showering. I didn't call manintenance because we didn't want to be distrubed. This is a pet peeve of mine, WHY doesn't the cleaning staff tell maintenance; they MUST know the bath tub doesn't drain as it's obvious when they clean the tub!

My family and I had a wonderful time at the hotel. The staff was friendly, helpful, and accommodating when we asked to extend our stay an additional day. Though the hotel was booked, they worked to find a cancellation, and were able to keep us in the same room.

I attended a conference in Portland just blocks from the Crowne Plaza and had reservations for Friday thru Sunday. The conference started at 8:30 am Fri so I stopped by the hotel about 8:00 to check my bags and ask if I could leave my car. Surprise of the day: they let me check in that morning! This meant I could leave my bags in my room and come back at lunch time and freshen up. I have never been offered a room that early in the morning at other establishments and I have sometimes had to wait until late afternoon for a room to be ready. The room was lovely, immaculate and comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly. I like that the elevators require a room key to work which is an added layer of security. I'll stay there the next time I have a Portland conference for sure.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dreamtripper excellent service and affordable surroundings
We were treated with instant welcome from the moment we got out of the cab and were at the hotel to get our rental car and take off for a driving trip of Oregon before returning to Portland. When we returned to the Crowne Plaza about a week later to stay for several nights, we received the same warm welcome from every member of the staff. The concierge was so helpful in information on the TriMet too. Our room was an affordable luxury. Our meals there were delicious and all servers were extremely polite and efficient. My husband ordered the rainbow trout one night and he said it was the best he had ever had...and he is a trout fisherman. We just loved our stay there and would stay there again if we ever get back to Portland. We will also look to stay at a Crowne Plaza in other cities on any trips we take.

Stayed at this Crowne PLaza location for the proximity to Convention Center. Was a brief walk. BUT, didn't expect the over the top service provided by every person that we came in contact with while staying. The front desk, Concierge, Shuttle driver (Ryan)...had on their full service hats for entire 4 days stay. Our room wasn't ready for out 9am check-in. I hadn't alerted them we were coming early. BUT, they texted me within an hour that our room was awaiting our arrival. A personal text was just the beginning of the personal touch we received. We were shocked to learn that the General Manager had made arrangments for our transport to point of interest locations and recommended a PERFECT breakfast downtown. Highly recommend! The room you may ask...of course was wonderful.

Average customer service, as expected from Portland. Better than being snooty I guess (they're not). Nice room, clean bed, great view, close to Starbucks for a nice morning walk to get your coffee, three blocks from the tram. And the restaurant has a delicious fried shrimp po' boy

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Skicramer Crown Plaza is a Winner
This is a property that is conveniently located in the Portland downtown area. Within close proximity to the Rose Garden and other Portland attractions. It's one of the best kept and most comfortable Crown Plaza's I've stayed at. If they have the salmon chowder on the menu you have to try it...AMAZING. I'll stay here again and again.

Lots of road noise and "building" noise. Building noise seemed to be coming from a fan in the vent shaft.
Desk clerk on check in was new and had to keep asking someone else how to do certain things. Took a long time to check in.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Tracie713 Great Location - Beautiful Hotel
We attended the "Leaky Con 2013" Convention - this hotel was included in the conventions package. It was a great location (short walk to convention center and the MAX rail). Had Starbucks, McDonalds, Wendy's, Subway, 7-11 - you name it - all within a short walk. Hotel staff were amazing! We ordered room service - breakfast and dinner - both were reasonably priced, delivered quickly and very tasty. Room had Keurig coffee makers, Refrigerator, and Microwave! FREE bikes to borrow and ride around town!! Would definitely stay here again - highly recommend! LOVED Portland!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by NightsInHotels Responsive management, great facility
Excellent renovations at this property have created a great facility. Good amenities in rooms (Keurig brewer, mouthwash, etc.).
Management clearly cares about the experiences of their hotel guests.
The location could be better for those not needing the convention center, but it is walkable to the true downtown (the name is misleading).

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by garbonzo terrible air conditioning
Don't really think there was any. Had instructions on the front desk on how to operate, but that did not make room any cooler.
It was cooler in the hallway & we left the door open to cool the room down so we could get to sleep! Not @ all what we would have ever expected!!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by TravellinMom Great stay - just hot! in Portland
Very nice rooms - just really, really hot with the heat wave in Portland - and no air conditioning to speak of. Staff was great and came to check right away and brought us a fan. Think the system needs some work - so just a word of caution if you are on the 10th floor - apparently not large enough air ducts and a flat roof - bad combination at 98 degrees. Otherwise great stay - loved the little relax package of spray and lotion and foot lotion. Great location close to the Convention Center and biking, restaurants, shopping.

Stayed for the Leakycon event at the convention center with my daughter. The location was great. Room was comfortable. The concierge and staff were extremely helpful in every way- especially with tips guiding me around the city and arranging for tours. Room was clean and coffee in lobby in morning was great touch!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by twinmom You pleased two teenagers
I took our twin girls to the LeakyCon near your hotel and we got to see everything we wanted. We had great service at the hotel, it was really nice to have the shuttle help us and our bags to our room after our flight. Everything about our room was nice, the beds, the pool and hot spa, the linens and extra towels all made our stay first rate. Thanks for thrilling the girls and me on our great first trip to Oregon.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by dakorian13 Great place But
I had my wife 30th birthday and did a private dinning in one of the ballrooms and it was perfect from start to finish. From staff to food. But the room was so hot even after having it set at 60 and keeping our curtain closed. We opened the blinds to get more light while the make-up and hair was done since the room was so dark other wise and closed it after that and it was so hot even after we went to dinner and couldn't sleep most of the night. For the price regardless the room shouldn't be hotter inside the outside. All the 5 stars is for the dinner but low stars was for the room itself.

I stayed here for LeakyCon last week and had a wonderful time. Everyone was really accommodating. I had to do a split reservation because the hotel was filled but the staff made it possible for my group to stay in the same room for both reservation periods. Really clean and nice looking room and friendly staff. I also LOVED how close it was to the convention center. Made it really easy to get to my destination :)

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Geo41 Fabulous for Rose Festival Parade
My wife and I, both seniors, booked this hotel for three nights in order to enjoy the Rose festival Parade and downtown Portland. Our experience was great beginning with the complimentary shuttle pickup at the Union Station. Our single king disabled room had a pleasant seating area, a view of Mt. Hood, a spacious bathroom and was tastefully decorated. The DVD player was a minor frustration in that it could not be controlled with the remote that did work for the flat panel TV. All the staff with whom we had contact were most competent and demonstrated a tremendous commitment to providing first class customer service. When we were ready to take their shuttle to Union Station after checking out, their shuttles were committed to the airport. Without our expressing any urgency to get to Union Station or asking for a taxi, they arranged for a taxi to take us to the station at their expense.
The location of the hotel is great for those not having a car at their disposal. Lloyd Center is within a leisurely 15 minute walk and there are multiple bus and LRT stops within less than 10 minutes walking time. Portland's municipal transit system is great and very inexpensive when you purchase a day pass.
This Crowne Plaza is located right on the Rose Festival Parade route and they had temporary bleacher seating for watching the parade right in their parking lot.

When I called to make the reservation I requested a friend and family rate, but was told that there were no rooms available for the date of my booking on friends and family rate. The room that was available for that night for my needs was apx. $50.00 more I was very disappointed that I could not get the rate that I was expecting....
I do not understand why this establishment charges there clients $15.00 a day for parking..
I have never had to pay to park in a facility that I am a guest at..

Our room was quite beautiful and the beds were more than comfy:) BEST beds ever!!! Loved the lighted mirror in the bathroom, but missed a fan. Took me a little while to find the hair dryer. But everything really was just great and we would recommend the Crowne Plaza as a place to stay to our friends and family!
