We enjoyed our stay at the Crowne Plaza. Very nice rooms. Great to have a a/c unit that wasn't attached to the wall. Appreciated being on a floor that didn't allow children.. Very nice décor, front desk staff was very helpful.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Avila Nice, strangely tall bed, billing problems
It was a nice stay, the hotel was nice and clean, and the breakfast was decent (the eggs were surprisingly good). My only complaints were that 1) the bed is strangely very high - even for me, a woman of 5'4" and 2) they messed up on the check-in and billing. I used miles, and there was no recognition that breakfast was included (even the supervisor checked me in), and when I checked out they charged me for the room on the bill. Good looking hotel but rookie mistakes.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Bowdenfan Fantastic staff and service
The distance from downtown was a little surprising at first but the close location of the light rail system made up for it, and the light rail schedule itself was very easy to navigate. All the staff members were extremely helpful and friendly, from the shuttle drivers to the bartender and cafe staff, housekeepers, and maintenance crew that we happened to run into while walking around the property.
The room was nice. We appreciated the "little things" like the aromatherapy kit and Keurig coffee maker and drape clip. We were amused, however, at how high the bed was. It was extremely comfortable but we're not very tall and are used to a low platform bed. Overall, we enjoyed our stay in Portland, and the hotel and staff helped make it a nice vacation!

My friend and I were very pleased with our stay at Crown Plaza. The only thing I noticed was that there was no hair dryer available in the room. Luckily, I had brought my own. Other than that, which I feel is very minor, the hotel was very nice. I want to give a special thank you to John who was the evening parking attendant who found me a parking space after all of the other handicapped spots were filled. He went out of his way to be very helpful and I very much appreciate it.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by momo16 Amazing value and comfortable bed
This was my first time staying at a Crowne Plaza and I have to say, I could get used to it! We found this was an excellent value for a budget-friendly young couple in Portland. We were extremely comfortable in our room and felt pampered by all the small touches, including toiletry items and aromatherapy lotion samples. The pillows were my favourite part of our stay -- so comfortable that we checked the tags to find the manufacturer and get some for ourselves!
The location is not the best it could be as it is a ways from downtown, but the MAX Light Rail station is a 3 minute walk away which will take you to the SW and street car is a 2 minute walk which takes you to the NW.
The only small negatives were that our room faced a highway and noise while sleeping was an issue one night (the other nights we didn't notice and I think this is because the air conditioner was on and muffled outside sounds); also, the concierge, while very friendly and helpful, took about 20 of our time at check-in pointing out restaurants and other points of interest on the map...appreciated, but also a little overkill.
Overall we had a fantastic time!

Stayed at this hotel for one week on a business trip. Excellent staff and service, very helpful. Five star all the way around! Better than Five Star hotels that I've stayed at around the world.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lemonaide Appreciate The Keurig Coffee service
It was very nice to have a personal Keurig coffee machine in our room.....they deliver a fresher tasting drink. The banquet food was a bit of a disappointment: flavor lacking , too undercooked veg and potato, and seemed lacking in general. I think buffet style would allow an easier way for the chef to prepare a tastier meal and allow the diner a choice for a large group. I did get quite a reaction to the food as well, suggesting that it had plenty of chemicals in it. And again, that might have also been the chemicals on the sheets. ?????

Crowne Plaza is a wonderful facility. I was attending a conference for Daughter of the American Revolution, so the building was bursting with women. I would love to come again, so shopping and relaxing could be on my agenda, instead of meetings! Amenities were great, but what impressed me most, was the staff. All were friendly and helpful..if the counter was busy, someone was there quickly. Even those coming on shift, would visit in the elevator. It appears, your employees enjoy their workplace. Good job!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Kelley20 Wonderful Staff
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The room is filled with amenities like shampoo, conditioner but also mouthwash, rejuvenating foot rub, make up remover pads! The beds are very comfortable unfortunately a bit high for a short person. Hopefully they will be lowering them soon.
The restaurant food was wonderful and original. The breakfast buffet was perfect and filling.
There are three Starbucks in walking distance too!

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Essjay67 Great Experience
The bed was terrific and the room was so quiet even though the hotel is so convenient to the freeway. The car valet service was prompt and courteous. The check-in was efficient and quick and the check-out was equally so. We particularly liked the location because it is on the east side of the Williamette. We will be staying in this hotel whenever we visit Portland, Oregon. Also loved the spa products in the room.

From the moment I arrived I was treated so well. I was tired from all day traveling and wanted a good meal followed by a quiet undisturbed sleep. The concierge found my family a great korean restaurant and asked the shuttle to take us there. After, My room was pleasant ,very clean and quiet. They provided complimentary essential oils that really added to a good night sleep. The shuttle to and from the airport was quick and provided a comfortable ride. Well worth the stay and yes I would stay there again.

The hotel is centrally located to all the downtown needs for business and entertainment.
The rooms are great, they are very roomy and have awesome accommodations.
The restaurant and bar have great food and drinks, the pool and hot tub is a great way to relax after a busy day,
The entire staff and hotel are very warm and friendly, I couldn't have asked for a better experience.
Thanks Crown Plaza staff and I will see you soon!!

This is my first time staying at this hotel, and overall, was happy with my visit. It claims to be downtown, but in fact, is across the river from downtown by the convention center. They do have a shuttle that will take you to the airport and within 5 miles, which was very convenient. The rooms are spacious, clean and comfortable.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by businesstravelgal Avoid Second Floor Rooms
I had a room on the second floor just above the kitchen. There was a great deal of street noise and I had to leave the air conditioning fan running at all times to drown it out. Additionally, the room was right over the kitchen and the smell of bacon permeated the room every morning and the smell of burgers all afternoon. I attempted to switch rooms and the front desk staff was really unhelpful and said they were unable to accommodate any changes. Would not recommend this hotel.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by 20thAnniversary Kind staff, comfy bed
The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. Our room was "upgraded" which meant we were switched to a top floor room. I suppose we should be grateful for that, since I am a light sleeper. All the noise from the hallways came through, and some noise from close by units. When neighbors were opening their doors, I thought someone was trying to get into our door--that is how easily sound carried. I could hear street noise (highway) all night long. I am so glad I brought my earplugs, otherwise I would not have slept at all. The curtains were good for room darkening, except there was no way to entirely block the light since the window covered the entire wall. Light seeped around the edges closest to the wall, which is, of course, where the head of the bed is located. So, if you are light sensitive, bring a mask. There is also an internal sound to the room like water running or electronic hum. Again, the earplugs were needed. In the room we had, there were 2 queen beds. The bathroom was closet size. The coffee service was in an alcove next to the bathroom so you could get water--but with 4 people trying to shower it was hard to get into the bathroom to get water. A free standing sink would have been nice. Since you can only brew 1 cup at a time, there was a lot of turn taking going on. Plus only 2 mugs were provided for a room that sleeps 4! There was one "comfortable" chair and a desk with a desk chair. There was also an upholstered bench. None of these seats were good for TV viewing, which meant sitting on the beds without back support. The selection of movies from the front desk was limited, but as we don't watch many movies there were a few that we wanted to see. The remote didn't seem to work with the DVD player, so we had to find the right buttons to push on the machine--but there weren't any to toggle through the menu, so we were limited to play only--no rewind or fast forward. We had dinner in the restaurant which was lovely and not too fancy. The food was good. We swam in the pool and used the hot tub "spa" which were both good temperatures and fun for the kids. We did not use the exercise room, but it looked to be well equipped. It is a shame to have to pay for parking when one is already paying for a room. Silly idea! If you are staying there, parking should be free. From all these comments, you might think we didn't enjoy our stay. We did have a good time, since our basic reason for staying here was a good bed and a pool for the kids. I was prepared for noise and light, so was not kept up all night or awakened too early. The noise and light did not seem to bother my husband or kids who are all very good sleepers and did not need earplugs to rest. The next time, if we stay in the same hotel, we will splurge for a suite to have places to sit and easier prep of food and drinks.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by DEC58 Nice staff, noisy, dated room!
We were scheduled for three night stay, only stayed one night! Our room was an "upgrade", on the freeway, the noise level made it impossible to sleep! We we're not informed of that problem. The staff were very nice and did try to compensate. The room was dated and tacky with broken lamp shades, etc. We were told by other guests that nicer rooms were available!!! After one night we checked out and went to a hotel downtown where we have stayed , for years. Live and learn, stay with tried and true. The surrounding area is industrial and doesn't appear to be very safe.. Would not go back!

This was our first stay at this hotel and it was fantastic. The staff was amazing. Everyone was friendly and helpful - even when our toilet clogged at 1am. The room was clean, comfortable, and well furnished. Room service was tasty and quite affordable, as was the hotel restaurant. Pretty much every need we had was met with flying colors :)

We were very surprised at how great our experience was from the time we arrived to the time we left. The hotel was clean and neat. The staff was very helpful and courteous. We were comfortable and truly enjoyed ourselves. We would definitely stay here again and we do recommend this hotel to anyone.

This was my second stay at the hotel. All the staff (door, housekeeping, desk, restaurant and bar) were friendly and the desk staff were helpful removing a charge from my bill. WiFi was flawless. The room was clean, quiet and fresh-smelling as was the entire facility. I enjoyed the bar and breakfast. The coffee was actually good. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else in downtown Portland.
