Extremely spacious, well furnished and streaming with unique 1950's character, this hotel offers true tranquility. Yes, it is far from the centre -- so what? Makes you excercise every morning which is great! It's about 40 minutes of slow-paced walk to the Hrad but one cannot complain at all. The way lies through the residential area that has its own special character -- like any other district of Prague. And then you are "forced" to cross the Castle area! What can be a more exciting way to start your day.
Rooms are clean and well appointed. Colour choice pleasing. Breakfast is especially great. It hasn't suffered much austerity through recent years -- unlike in other hotels. Staff is unobtrusive -- which is great (after all, this is not supposed to be a pension:). Just ask and you'll be helped and advised.
All in all, this is a true 4* service, adding nicely to the pleasure of staying in Prague. The city offers many choices but Crowne Plaza is worth to consider every time.

We were upgraded to an executive room on floor 12 due to priority club membership. It was excellent with views over the city. The staff were great and we had a very enjoyable stay

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Steve35 Really nice stay but.....
Firstly I would say our experience overall was very good and I'm very grateful for the platinum recognition from the moment we arrived. The front desk check in was very good and there were cheerful staff on duty despite some other reviews, i was delighted to get rooms in the tower, very nice thanks. We paid to get lounge access and breakfast and that's where I have a small moan. The breakfast was in the main restaurant where their were a lot of staff on duty but not doing a lot. The first day the skin on the food on the buffet was extremely poor and when I asked one girl for fresh eggs you would have thought I asked her for personal money. I had to be rescued by the lady supervisor who managed to get me an omelette. She also got me a tea but none of the others helped at all. The next day the manager was in the restaurant and they suddenly staff became very busy even the overall lady restaurant manager was out checking the food! As soon as he went the staff all grouped at the empty end of the restaurant to talk and straighten the cutlery on the empty tables! There were only a few of us but no table service at all where they could be making customers feel more valued by clearing the plates away or offering hot drinks! I think this is an area of improvement that would cost nothing and make people want to return. Thanks to fillip who answered my email and met our room request and the great guy on reception very helpful.

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Good localization
The Crowne Plaza in Prague is placed in historical building, which is good viewpoint for city and is close to old town. Atmosphere was good. Disadvantage was restaurant because it's necessary go outside to another building. It's uncomfortable during winter. Hotel hasn't swiming pool what is also disadvantage.

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by conwe Older property but can be stunning if renovated
First, this hotel could be classified as historical building. However, as many has mentioned the hotel is in need for a renovation. The facility is old. But after a well-thought renovation this hotel can be a stunning property.
Second, the club offering is subpar. I understand this is low season but the printer was not working, not many options of food. And no liquor whatsoever.
Third, breakfast was nice. European style.
I recommend this hotel for its unique architecture and the fact of the easy public transportation. It is near the terminus of two tram lines and you can reach old city in no time. Ride on the tram is easy and fun. It is close to airport bus stop as well. Very nice for someone on budget. A shopping centre and a supermarket nearby if you stay longer. Very nice hotel as long as you know what to expect.

My first visit to Prague and this hotel made my stay a great memory for my birthday, we were a party of 4 and the reception staff were very helpful and even suggested restaurants in Prague to visit and they then booked them for us which was very helpful and took the stress out of trying to find places in the city to visit.
We all used the lounge which has great views over Prague and we were so impressed we have booked the hotel again and will stay in April for another visit.
