Great place!

We travel a lot and just the night before had a horrible at another chain but this made up for it. They are in the middle of renovating but this didn't disrupt our stay at all. We will be back when the new lobby bar is open!!

Decent, but not value for the price

We were there for a wedding. We reserved two rooms. They were located as far from each other on the same floor as possible. Who knows why. The rates were different and the reason for that was poorly explained. The rooms were pretty good, but the most expensive one had more of a pool view than the ocean view we were apparently paying more for. The less expensive one actually had better ocean views. The room's cleanliness and preparedness upon arrival was mixed. A room service tray with dirty dishes sat outside our room from our arrival until the next day, the room was not stocked with coffee cups and a handle on the bathroom door was installed incorrectly. We checked in on a Friday. The hot tub was down for repairs all weekend, until Tuesday morning. I am NOT making this up, the repairs were made at 12:30AM, as in during the night. We know this as we were woken up twice by a maintenance man pounding loudly on pipes outside our window. The lobby is under construction, which is understandable, but any other hotel would have, at the very least, provided coffee in the lobby as a way to make up for the inconvenience, I'd think. Or just as a standard gesture, as most hotels do. But no. No information about recycling anywhere. I called the front desk and they said if I brought my recyclables to them, they'd take care of them. Something makes me think they just ended up in the trash. Bottom line: it's a gorgeous area, it will be nicer once the lobby construction and the street construction is done, but this hotel needs to step it up a notch in the service and amenities department.
