We were a little disappointed with the television reception in the room. The hotel was full, but they did manage to move us to another room.

My wife and I traveled from Michigan to attend the NASCAR events at Richmond International Raceway. We especially enjoyed our stay at your facility. The facility was clean, service was great (especially enjoyed the lounge with bartender Earnest) and location was terrific. We hope to return soon.

The shuttle service was excellent. The staff were all friendly and helpful. Our room was very comfortable with plenty of space. Buffet breakfast has variety and quality although there could have been another waitress or two.

This is not what you expect when you stay at a Crowne Property!
First impression-dated and dirty (trash on stairs, was still there the following morning). Reception desk was uncontrolled with 4 employees struggling with 2 guests. No valet or bellman to assist.
Room-very basic and what you would expect of a 2 star. Both mattresses were worn to the point that they sunk when you laid down. Coffee pot overflowed when we tried to use it. Wrong pot in maker, didn't line up.
Parking garage is cramped and an accident waiting to happen.
Staff- Desiree (manager) assisted with the issues and moved us to another room for our second night. Unfortunately, she left at end of shift and I had to explain to the oncoming of the compensation because I was billed for what Desiree had resolved.
We will be returning each year to Richmond but will not be returning to this property.

We got our room 2h late and the front desk manager told my friend that she had an attitude and she would not get her room any faster, Everyone else got their rooms with no problem

Late check-in. No Bellman to help us with luggage.
Unenthusiastic front desk attendant did not show any concern.
Pleased to be upgraded to Suite due to Ambassador Statue. Nice large room but pillows and mattresses were extremely uncomfortable.
Sour taste will have me looking to competitors on future travel.

My walls were paper thin - could hear man next door and he was not particularly loud. Painting on my floor - buckets and paint spraying machinery in hallway leading to elevator - had to walk down plastic with paint drips on it in the a.m. My microwave and the heater light in the bathroom both so noisy I was afraid to continue to use them #discovered last night of stay#.
The breakfast buffet was great.
Ordered burger without onions / pickles / tomatoes from restaurant one night. The burger was good, though I had to remove onions / pickles / tomatoes before eating it. Only condiments provided were mayo and ketchup - no mustard.
At about 7:00 p.m. on March 25th, I asked the front desk staff whether the shuttle would take me to the Strawberry Street Cafe. Since they said yes, I sat in the lobby waiting until the shuttle returned at about 7:20 p.m. At that time, when I asked shuttle driver if I could get a ride to the Strawberry Street Cafe, he told me the shuttle didn't "go there." I called the Marriott shuttle, which picked me up at the Crowne Plaza and drove me to the restaurant and later picked me up and brought me back to the Crowne Plaza. #REALLY????# I have to say that the shuttle from the Marriott was in better condition and the drivers seemed to actually want to drive people around.
You have to take an elevator from the parking garage to the lobby floor, then take a separate elevator upstairs to get to your room. Made carrying bags in and out more inconvenient, PLUS no one tells you this when you first check in. Also, your room card is supposed to work as a pass to enter / exit the lot - but at least when I stayed there it did not work and I had to get my ticket validated every time I left the parking lot.
Overall there were highs and lows that worked out to an overall "average" rating - but considering the money, I expected more. I'm glad my office paid for the trip.

Enjoyed hotel. Clean, well appointed rooms and facility. Very friendly staff.
Hotel is located in a part of the city which is somewhat deserted. Not many activities or restaurants within walking distance.
Parking is available for about $17 per night which I thought was high. Parking also requires receiving a ticket and getting it validated at the front desk each time you enter the garage which is a pain.
Would stay again.

good response to overflow parking, assistance with reprogramming TV remote, and arranging van for trip in cold snowy weather to and from area restaurants. Housekeeping staff took two Guinness glasses purchased locally. Two attempts to get assistance from the desk to recover them met with no response.

I've come to expect superior customer service and facilities at the Club Level of Crowne Plaza Hotels, and found little to none at all in Richmond.
Initial front desk reception was tepid and did not seem to care about Priority Club status or service which is certainly unexpected for a Club Level room, but should not be tolerated at any level in a Crowne Plaza property.. Second front desk person was more helpful and apologetic, but damage had already been done. Was so tired by the time we found-out that the HVAC didn't work that we just toughed it out to get a good night's sleep, however, a leaky and sporadically running toilet made that impossible. A real disappointment!

The hotel got the important things right--everything was clean, the bed comfortable & the staff friendly & helpful. Only negative was no restaurants (other than cafe in hotel) within short walking distance--this was not a problem for us as we had a car & it was low-traffic Saturday, but a potential problem for business travelers.

I only ate breakfast in your dining room and ordered room service a few times. For the two months that I was there, I went down each morning and was extremely pleased by the staff who worked that shift . Faye and Shannon took such wonderful care of me each day. From the man in charge to the omlet makers, they were all gracious and accommodating. Faye and Shannon were hard working and the kind of folks who anticipated your needs and made sure you had everything without even asking. They won my highest praise. Please do something to expand the soup and sandwich menu for room service..we easily tire of it each year and it never changes. Everything else was terrific.

Check-in was a little slow, but the staff was very friendly. As a Priority Club member, I received a free small bottle of wine. That was a nice touch. The room was clean, spacious and well appointed. I enjoyed having a mini-fridge and microwave in the room. My only complaint was the lack of hot water in the morning. Both my husband and I took lukewarm showers. Other than that, it was a great stay.

The front desk and bell staff are excellent. Specifically Kenya, Jeannie and Michelle take care of all our needs in a friendly and efficient manner. The bell staff, Pete, Andrew, John And Ed are the best. They provided prompt service to and from the destinations we required. The several weeks we reside at the Crowne Plaza are made great by this staff and are the reason we return.

I always expect more from Crowne Plaza, and in this instance I was disappointed.
The rooms are very nice and comfortable but the walls are paper thin. I stayed twice, and both rooms had interconnecting doors. You can hear everything through them, EVERYTHING. I heard lots going on next door that I'm sure the hotel doesn't want me to mention.
The front desk staff are awesome, extremely polite and helpful.
The bar, that's another story. The food is awful. The staff are dull. The atmosphere while I was there was non existent. I used the bar three times, twice for food and drink and once for drinks only and would not recommend anyone go there.
Finally, if the restaurant opened maybe an hour earlier for breakfast, it would be great. I'm sure 0630 is fine for tourists but was not at all useful for me who had to be at work at 7am.
Overall, great hotel but by far the worst Crowne Plaza I've stayed in. Please fix the bar!

Spent one nights at this fabulous hotel. Nice clean fresh rooms with a comfy bed to top it all off! The front desk personnel was exceptional with making sure my stay was PERFECT ! Nice well-lit, secured location too!!! The staff is really friendly and they make us feel at home. Breakfast buffet one of the best! Overall one of the best hotel stay for me in a long time!

The website was very deceptive. My room was on the 14th floor and had roaches. The water pressure in the shower was terrible and the sink basin was clogged. One evening I had no hot water and the next morning the water pressure was so bad I had no shower. I called the front desk and was told to take a shower in a vacant room. Apparently, this was a larger problem because this room was opened to many. It was obvious the shower was just used and the soap with hair stuck to it was still there. A group of us stayed for work and all had similar experiences. Several of the others had problems with the rooms being in excess of 85 degrees. You would be wise to stay somewhere else.

I have stayed at this Crowne Plaza several times, I come back because the hotel offers a waffle breakfast, but MOST IMPORTANTLY, the desk staff including Kenya, and Shannon in the cafe and the housekeeping treat me like I'm a good old friend that they value. I love the staff very much, and the rooms are impeccable.
Everything from the bed to the the items in the room for my comfort are just outstanding. The value is amazing, and the hotel is world class & very convenient for my destinations including when I go to meet elected officials at the capitol. The hotel & staff mean the world to me & I WILL be back many more times. ALL the attentive staff & management deserve a pay raise.

I have stayed at many CP's over the years. I have stayed here the last 2 weeks. Last week I assked for either feather or skinner pillows two times. Each night when I returned there was nothing. My request went unanswered. This week, I checked in on Sunday. The TV was fussy and the remote did not work. I reported this to the front desk but when I returned on MOnday night nothing had happened. On Tuesday morning there was very little hot water. Even after letting it run it was still only warm.

It is a wonderful place to stay in. The location is in the heart of everything. The rooms and bath rooms have everything I needed. Not leaving out the shuttles that are always ready to take people wherever they want to go.

I normally don't write reviews, but I thought it was my civic duty to warn others that this might happen. I picked this hotel because it's a 4/star hotel, meaning there should be no loud noises, it should be a calm, relaxing stay.. couldn't be further from the truth.
#1--- the actual hotel is beautiful, the staff is wonderful, and I guess they can't say who can/can't stay there based on stereotypes.
Again, hotel staff was great.. but at 3:30AM, apparently my neighbors next to me got in and had a loud party, these walls are paper thin! I called a noise complaint, and then it got quiet, the I heard the door that can conjoin the rooms shake, nearly had a heart attack! I immediately called security and it stopped for a bit.. I'm pretty sure they could hear me calling in the noise complaints, because it got quiet immediately after it.. until the hotel staff left.. then it got noisy again.. The stay was horrible... I complained to the company directly, hopefully they'll follow up!
