The Staff Make It Excellent!

My wife and I really enjoy our weekend getaways at the Richmond Downtown Crowne Plaza. We've been staying a couple times per year for several years now and look forward to each recurrence.
The hotel, while showing some signs of its age, is still a very relaxing and comfortable place to be. The amenities always meet our needs. The food at the restaurant and room service is excellent! - especially breakfast! We look forward to the made-to-order omelets prepared by William. It's one of our favorite parts of our stay. Oh, and the crispy bacon! (I'm getting hungry just writing this.)
But the best part of staying at the Crowne Plaza is the people who work there. From the front desk staff to the house keeping staff to the restaurant wait staff, everybody is friendly and welcoming. They make you not want to leave. They are the best!
It's because of our experiences at the Crowne Plaza in Downtown Richmond that we look for a Crowne Plaza first when we travel to other cities. We've never been disappointed. Keep up the great work everybody. We'll see you again in another month or two.

Happy hour was great since we had missed dinner.

Downtown Richmond for NASCAR

The hotel was what is to be expected of an IHG property. The bathroom fixtures could have been updated as there was rust and the base of the shower head was not attached to the wall. The 0419 wake-up call (i.e. fire alarm) was less than desirable especially without an explanation since it was obvious there was not a fire. I will never understand the need to pay for parking at a hotel you are a guest at. Full size trucks beware as there are only a few inches of clearance and tight turns.
