Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wow Prior to booking my stay I read the reviews of the other customers...let me just say I was underwhelmed and very suspect as to what I might find...let me tell you that I was truly overwhelmed with all moments of truth that I participated in which included of course Check-in, the gym, the on-site dining room and of course my room. Our room was on the 6th floor facing away from I-80 (no noise...very quiet) it was very comfortable with room to spread out. The bedding was very nice and the bathroom well equipped. The gym had plenty of equipment all in working order and the dinner was very good and reasonably priced. As for the service, we were treated like they wanted us there and were excited to serve us. This included the Dining staff as well as the check-in. All in this was more that I expected and would definitely stay again. April 18, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by comfortable bed and furnishings Check in was excellent. Room excellent. Alarm clock was a challenge-however called for wake up call and this was easily completed. Conference room very well lit and easily assessible. Dining was ok. Food was good. Female who sat us called us guys-a group of 4 ladies was a bit of a turn off. Waiting for our fruit delayed-however we were able to take it to go to the mtg. Overall great place. April 17, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Lovely accommodations at affordable prices. We stayed here on a whim, despite reading some not-so-great (and COMPLETELY unjustified) reviews, and did not regret it at all. In fact, I booked a return trip the following weekend because we enjoyed our stay so much and, as luck would have it, the rates were even better than our first time. Both times our rooms were comfy and the beds quite cozy; handicapped accessible rooms were unavailable on our first trip, but we were booked quite close to the elevator so it was no trouble to get to our room. We were facing Interstate 80, which can be loud for some I suppose, but we didn't notice it after about 30 minutes and forgot about it completely by the time we went to bed. Our second stay was in an accessible room, and it was just as lovely as the first. We faced the hotel parking lot this time, and with the exception of a couple who very loudly argued in our hall and banged on our door (which hotel security was quick to dispatch), the evening passed quietly without any outside noise. We made use of the restaurant for a small meal and enjoyed the atmosphere greatly. All in all, not a terrible pittance for such wonderful accommodations! We will definitely return to the Crowne Plaza on our next trip. April 9, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by room noisy Stayed at this hotel for 5 days while on company business.I was up on the third floor and the room faced the freeway so every night I heard trucks going by on I-80.There was also a problem with the heater/ a/c unit and it would pop and creak at night so I finally had to turn it off after the second night. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Business travel I was visiting Sacramento for the first time due to a business conference. I really rely on reviews from others whenever I travel somewhere unfamiliar. The reviews really help make my decisions. I agree the area was not the best but nothing too concerning. I could tell the hotel made some great effort in updating and remodeling their style and it really showed. The dressers were pretty banged up but overall the room was great and comfortable. What superseded everything was the OUTSTANDING customer service. The front desk staff was perfect for a very particular, fussy person like myself; patient, professional, and accommodating. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Horrible Service From Staff I was very disappointed with my experience at this hotel. I arrived in Sacramento late in the evening. I arrived just after they stopped their hot food service. That is not their fault, but rather my flights being delayed. When I inquired at the front desk about food, they told me that they do have a limited late night room service that started at 1130. So I went up to my room and waited and hour and a half for 1130 PM so I could get some dinner. Well I opened the menu just to discover that the late night service actually started at 1100. Come on front desk staff, know your own property and give guests correct information. I called at 1130 on the dot and ordered a cold sandwich and a bag of chips. Kind of disappointing selection, but beggars can't be choosers. I did speak with the young man at the front desk about customizing a sandwich. He informed me that the chefs prepare the sandwiches at 1030 before they leave for the night. Again not a big deal, I was just curious. So after I was told the sandwiches were premade, I ordered and expected it to arrive pretty promptly, I mean there was no prep involved. I waited and hour and 15 minutes before they finally sauntered up to my room to deliver it. On top of the lengthy delay, he forgot my chips, and brought me a bottle of ketchup and mustard. Bravo on the mustard, but who in the heck uses Ketchup on a sandwich? The sandwich was pretty lousy and dry and it was without any chips to top it off. Sure I could have called down to let me know that I didn't get them, but at this point it was almost 1 in the morning. I wasn't going to wait up another hour just for a bag of chips. Needless to say, I was VERY disappointed with my stay. I don't normally write reviews unless someone exceeds my expectations and goes out of their way to help me out. Congrats CP in Sacramento, you achieved the opposite. You did such a poor job that I felt you deserved a review. Get on board and realize that people have a lot of options when they stay. I will steer clear of your establishment in the future. April 1, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Nice Overall The hotel is very accessible from I-80, the staff treated us very well (polite, helpful, and accommodating), the hotel restaurant had good food (kids 13 and under eat free... at least when we ate breakfast), and the rooms were decent and the bed comfortable. They have a nice pool and Jacuzzi... too cold for the pool, but my son had a blast in the Jacuzzi! Overall, we had a great stay and great experience... April 1, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great front desk staff. The room was dirty and the door into the room was not tight at all. It kept knocking and making noise through the night when people walked down the hall and the air conditioner came on. I had to put a towel under door to get to to stop rattling. Someone had eaten sun flower seeds in the room and I found them in several places. I have stayed here many times even before it was a Crowne Plaza and always had a clean room and nice experience but I was disappointed this time.I also had requested a top floor room and noticed I had one reserved but ended up on the second floor.The card with my keys had a 6th floor number that had been crossed off and a second floor number added in. I had called earlier in the week before my stay and advised them I would be arriving about midnight so they were aware of my late arrival. I reserved a top floor and paid for it and got stuck on the second. Should have gone on up to Holiday Inn Express in Roseville. March 29, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Very nice hotel Our room was very comfortable. The staff was helpful and friendly, but we found the services lacking. There is one restaurant, but it isn't open for lunch on the weekends. No place to get a coffee and just hang out. (Don't all hotels have a Starbucks in the lobby?) We had dinner in the restaurant. The prices are extremely reasonable and they gave a lot of food. I had baby back ribs which included potato, huge amound of cole slaw and soup or salad for $11. The baby back ribs were great! We used the hot tub which put us right to sleep afterwards. Ask for a room away from the freeway side. Nice, helpful staff. March 16, 2013

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by You get what you pay for The front desk clerk was quick and had a pleasant attitude the entire time. As soon as we entered our room, we were hit with the smell of smoke. There wasn't another "non-smoking" room for the 3 of us, so the desk clerk offered free breakfast in exchange for bearing with the smell of the room. Fine. This room was listed as able to accommodate up to 4 people, but the beds were so small, it should be listed as accommodations for 2. Lastly, we (and the desk clerk) left the maid a note about the smell of smoke in addition to requesting 2 extra towels for our hair. Not only was nothing done to help eliminate the smell of smoke, the maid didn't leave not one extra towel AND took the nice tip we left under the handwritten note. Thank goodness our stay was for only two nights. February 9, 2013

Primarily it was the level of service and concern. Our room was nice, and the restaurant was so good I was wondering why they didn't promote it more - so much better than the usual quick fare found at an Express. A nice stay. February 8, 2013

The front desk (Jorge) was very nice and accommodating, the room was quiet and comfortable, the breakfast was good and the complimentary drink was a nice treat. The exterior and hallways are a bit worn, and the neighborhood is "on the mend" but those factors didn't affect my stay. I will probably be going back to the hotel within the month, it was comfortable and a good value. February 8, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice property, but... Our room was very nice and nicely decorated. There is only one elevator, so we had to take the stairs alot. Cold in the stair-well. We left some belongings in our room and called the evening of our departure. Was told housekeeping gone for the night but the manager would get back to me in the morning. I called at about 2:00 that next afternoon and spoke with manager of housekeeping and was told our belongings were not there. I know for sure we left a cel phone charger and a black dress. He sent someone to check with a walkie/talkie, and I could hear them say they didn't see anything. I said they had a thief among them. The mgr said nobody would probably want those things anyway. Wow, Really!? I replied that it was a VERY nice dress! He said the room had not even been cleaned yet. Seems odd they wait so long to clean the rooms.....I asked if the items were found, could he please call me. He said they wouldn't be found. NICE! I guess I should not expect honesty from this hotel. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by My Stay with Crowne Plaza On Nov 5, 2012 I checked into the Sacramento Crowne Plaza, stayed here 5 prior times when it was Holliday Inn. I checked into a King Sutie and found a hole in the ceiling with wires handing down, a patch ceiling that was not painted, the ref. was sitting on the flow, no closet to hand clothing on, an unknown object stuck to the shower head. Due to heavy rain a puddle of water under the window, In the bathroom and the "front room" the wall paper was peeling off the walls in three areas. When I asked for a different room was told they did not have one and they would not credit my account. When I asked for the bill to be credited when I checked out I was told "reminds me when you return and I'll give you a better priceon your next stay". I contacted IHG Customer Service and was told they would put a letter in some file for the staff to read and then they thanked me for staying and hoped to serve me in the future. Very Very Poor service only looking for the dollar and not the customer. REALLY a sad way to run a business. December 14, 2012
