The receptionist was very helpful she gave me a chocolate-chip cookie:) and she also helped me write my car information on the card registration. I came in late at night so I could not see at that time of night because of the late night drive. The quesadilla dinner was a thumps up. The shuttle bus to and from the other hotel was cool. But the parking charge $12/day was a thumps down. May 13, 2013

I have a large truck and trailer, staff went out of there way to give me a safe place to park it.Both rooms very clean and comfortable we had dinner one night for four breakfast two days and one room service once, all very good and I would recomend all of the food services. A tip of the hat to Nathan at the front desk a big help.with everything from on the phone to in person he made a busy weekened very smooth. I wouldnt hesitate to stay again if the oppertunity presents itself. May 10, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent accommodations, excellent location and excellent service! This hotel was perfect for us! We needed to get away with the whole family for a weekend of rest. Everything was wonderful from the moment we arrived at the front desk until the moment we checked out! I will definately stay at this hotel again. The only thing that was a bit of a problem, was that I only found 1 vending machine and ice machine on each floor, which made some of our rooms far from the machines. But that is hardly a big deal! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by well.. . I have to say that the ambiance of this place is very nice, the staff was helpful and friendly. My problem was with my room. Although located in a scenic part of the courtyard it was not clean and the air condition did not work. The front desk sent someone to "fix" it but it took them 30 min to get there. I left the room and they assuered me that it was a quick fix. When I returned later that evening it still wasn't fixed. I called again and they came right away and again assured me that it would be a quick fix, it was not. They never ended up fixing it and I had to insist on another room, instead of it being offered to me. I ended up moving rooms after 8pm. April 26, 2013

To much noise and really didn't keep our room cool in the evening. I did open the sliding glass door to get air but the traffic was also load. We were upgraded to a larger room by a friendly reservation person, and we were pleased at the look of the room, Nice view from the balcony, roomy. Unfortunately the beds (2Q) were soft on one side, where most single sleepers laid. On checkout day we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door when we went to breakfast, our suitcases unpacked, etc. The sign kept falling off the door during our stay, so it wasn't obvious from the outside that we had put it on the door handle. When we returned to our room the maid had already made up one of the beds, and cleaned the bathroom. Duh. We used the bathroom, dirtied another towel, used a coffee cup. Wonder if the maid recleaned the bathroom or just swiped a dry towel over the surfaces. This has happened in other hotels also, and it makes one wonder how really sanitized rooms are between guests. The hotel is starting to feel a bit tired and could do with some refurbishment, but the staff are always so very nice and friendly that they make up for the condition of the buildings. April 12, 2013

Requested connecting rooms, however they were adjoining not connected. Tried calling the front desk however was placed on hold, after few minutes on hold I gave up. Priority club membership was a joke. They gave us two cookies, actually found this insulting. I have always stayed with Holiday Inn since becoming a priority club member. I would stay at a crown plaza again as last resort. Wifi was extra, which is simply the dumbest thing ever, it is 2013. Yes this message is for the out of touch with customer service manager. Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Relaxing We had a wonderful time staying at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, San Diego recently from March 11 to 14. The facilities were excellent. Our bedroom was nice and the bed was comfortable, and coffee making was provided. The pool and hot tub facilities were clean and comfortable, especially the large hot tub which can take 14. We had dinner in the restaurant twice. They have a ‘happy hour’ service with reduced drink prices between 5 and 7; and the food was excellent and freshly cooked, with nice hot vegetables: not just salad. The hotel also provides a fee shuttle service (not advertised on their web site) to the San Diego Zoo between 9 am and 3 pm, and also to the Old Town all day until 9pm. This was really useful. We would thoroughly recommend this hotel. April 1, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Good hotel to stay at in San Diego This is usually our go-to hotel in San Diego. We like it, because there is a restaurant & bar at the hotel. It seems to be open late, so that is nice when you come back to the hotel and need a place to eat. The rooms are nice, but could be updated a little bit more but for the price they are nice. It has a really pretty patio view. The fitness room was kind of small, so I only worked out one day. The staff was very pleasant and helpful. If a taxi was needed, they would call for one. They have a shuttle service that dropped and picked us up at Old Town. In the past the shuttle took us to the airport, but we were told only if they have airport staff returning to the airport they will do a drop off. I wish they did a shuttle service from and to the airport, because we had to pay for a taxi to the the hotel. March 4, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Smoking outside rooms an issue The only down side of my stay was having someone in a room nearby who insisted on smoking on their balcony. The smoke comes into the neighboring rooms . It reeked, and I mean it was strong! It was worse when they smoked in the walkway around the courtyard because it hung around longer. We were on the 6th floor, but its not like the weather was bad and they couldn't take the elevator downstairs to go smoke away from the rooms. Problem is with jerk guests, not hotel staff, but just a heads up. February 24, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Nice pool area I stay in San Diego often. I love the service at this hotel, I had a wonderful breakfast with great food and service. My room was very clean but rather outdated. Nice black out curtains and very comfortable bed. WiFi did not work at all due to low signal. I always sleep well and enjoy this property. The workout room need some help. I will stay here again, but I wish they could get their internet connection up to par. February 6, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by fab Sushi bar We came for a conference in January, and it rained for the three days that we were at the hotel. Did I tell you that you can't get to a room without walking outside. You can't get to any conference room without walking outside. The bedrooms were clean, but dated. Went to the Sushi Bar, and told "BIG MIKE" we loved tuna, shrimp, and salmon...Chief's choice.. We were treated to some of the best that we've ever eaten. This is a must. Breakfast?? well I've had better, although the servers paid great attention to the tables and we never had to look for service..ditto for the bar. Priority Club platinum members get comp. wi fi, and parking , and can use the club floor room , beware of the charges if you are not a member. No airport service available. February 2, 2013
