I have to say this place is great. The staff is super friendly and courteous. Everything is neat and clean and I always have a great time when I stay here. Definitely will keep coming back

My husband and I do not travel often at all. We have never been to California before and were not familiar with our surroundings. The staff was outstanding with helping us get to and from places. Cost was FREE! They were able to take us on the stop, no waiting. If you going there for the Marine graduation I highly recommend this hotel. They take you to and from the base itself.
The actual room was very clean which is a total plus. I do like softer sheets and I also like a softer bed. BUT it's hard to accommodate everyone in those minor details.

I have begun to stay at a lot of IHG properties recently, and decided to choose the Crowne Plaza in San Diego. In a nutshell, I had a horrible experience. The restaurant was mis-managed and it appeared that staff members had never had more than one group at a time. More than that caused a lot of confusion - either that or they did not really care about their jobs or the guests. A pair of sunglasses were stolen from my room at some point in the trip. Being that they were very expensive, they were not the type I would carelessly leave laying around. I left them in my room and came back and they were missing. I don't know that I would ever stay here again.
I had also emailed IHG directly about this, but of course, no reply.

Very nice hotel except the amenities. I liked the amenities at the 3 other hotels that we stayed at during this trip. Everything was included such as parking, great breakfast, wi-fi, refrigerator, microwave and a safe large enough for computers , IPads and jewelry. They were just as comfortable and clean. Didn't know about the Go Green $5 coupon until the night before we left the hotel. In 4 days we would have received $20. Never had our room cleaned the whole time we were there. I went for towels once after 2 days. The cleaning staff could have told us then about the Go Green. This hotel is great if you're willing to pay for most things that are included in many hotels that are just as nice and comfortable.

I love staying at the Crown Plaza it feels like a real vacation. I use to live in SD down the street from Crown Plaza and My husband and I would rent a room just cause it felt like a vacation and honeymoon. Love the Crown Plaza:) Oh Yeah Best Sushi in SD! Love the Happy Hour! M-F

From Brittany's friendly greeting at check-in to the speedy check-out experience, our stay was a pleasure. All of the staff were very gracious and kind and we really enjoyed the hotel's ambience. The unexpected upgrade from gold to platinum was very timely; we were in town for a funeral.

Comfortable bed, clean room, and atmospher relaxing. I will recommend offering wi-fi as a courtesy with their stay due to the cell phone service was horrible. Several us are with different carrier and expierence the same issue. But overall stay was wonderful

top floor is nice and quiet and was accessed by swiping room key in the elevators. Food quality is very good, fresh, and reasonably priced. Bar service very friendly. Overall, the excellent service, room comfort and cleanliness well makes up for the somewhat dated decor and structure. Hotel is big, was full, and appears to do a good business. Location is conveniently close to freeway, mall, and area attractions. No charge for shuttle to zoo.

I stay at the C-P for two week stays every time I have business in San Diego. I was a little disappointed to find that the "Aloha Club" wasn't offering dessert after every dinner. I noticed that the breakfast buffet was "watered down". They used to offer two different styles of scrambled eggs and about everyday there was a different breakfast meat, e.g. bacon, Canadian ham, sausage links, sausage patties...now-a-adays it is only one type of scrambled eggs and over cooked bacon. I called to order from the restaurant just before 9:00 PM since the card in the room said the kitchen was open until 9:30, but was told that kitchen is closed. The menu in the restaurant has finally changed....but it is more expensive! The paper work that you get as a Platinum member says that the lounge had two hot dishes of appetizers and there was only ever, one hot plate. The moral of my story is that the whole experience has is kind of going down hill, so-to-speak. As for the room.....there was plumbing that went over-head, near the bathroom that always seemed to have water flowing, which became a little problem when trying to fall asleep and this was on the eight floor reserved for platinum members only. Oh also...one last thing....they're TV channel selection is horrible....you never seem to get hockey playoff games in your room unless it is nationally televised. They have no MTV also...generally it STINKS! I hope that this place turns around.

Great location for our first foray into SD. Easy to find with easy access to and from the I-8. The entire staff very friendly and helpful. Good food at the restaurant.

The hotel was very nice. It had a great atmosphere, and the staff were excellent. The only downfall to my stay was the condition of the room. One of the closet doors was of the track and just leaning against the closet. The door to the bathroom was in need of replacement or at least a fresh coat of paint. The hotel clearly takes pride in keeping the grounds beautiful, the same could not be said for the condition of the room.

My husband and I have been going to the Hanalei Hotel for 25 years. We started going before it was a Crown Plaza property and have always come back. The first thing that drew us here was the grounds. They are kept in beautiful condition. There are always staff keeping it up. We continued going here after my daughter was born through her teen years. It is located centrally to all key attractions, i.e. Sea World, the Zoo, as well as the Gas Lamp district, La Jolla, Coronado, etc... If you don't want to dine out, the food at their restaurant for dinner is great as is there sushi bar. The breakfast is standard and good. Over the years we have seen some of the same staff, waiters, maintenance, etc... and they always are welcoming and recognize us. We love the rooms facing the pool. Sitting on the porch is relaxing any time of the day. I highly recommend this as a good for all.

We very much enjoyed our stay at this hotel. The rate was reasonable. The bed was comfortable. The only complaint we had was the noise from the pool. The next time we will request not to be near the pool, as it was very loud during the night. We also enjoyed the $5 coupons we received for each day we did not request maid service. We would definitely stay here again.

The bed was kept clean and the sheets/bedding clean as well. The receptionist was very helpful she gave me a chocolate-chip cookie:) and she also helped me write my car information on the card registration. I came in late at night so I could not see at that time of night because of the late night drive. The quesadilla dinner was a thumps up. The shuttle bus to and from the other hotel was cool. But the parking charge $12/day was a thumps down.

I booked two room for a job that was near by. I have a large truck and trailer, staff went out of there way to give me a safe place to park it.Both rooms very clean and comfortable we had dinner one night for four breakfast two days and one room service once, all very good and I would recomend all of the food services.
A tip of the hat to Nathan at the front desk a big help.with everything from on the phone to in person he made a busy weekened very smooth.
I wouldnt hesitate to stay again if the oppertunity presents itself.

We had our third Airline reunion here. Every time we have it at this hotel it is always a pleasure to be there. The staff is always very helpful and what better place would you want to hold a reunion but here. We had a very close group of 300 people with us this year.

I was not there long enough (1 day_ to enjoy what the hotel offers but for the pool, hot tub I was satisfied. The negative was a long wait for the elevators going up to your room. Be prepared to wait.

This hotel was perfect for us! We needed to get away with the whole family for a weekend of rest. Everything was wonderful from the moment we arrived at the front desk until the moment we checked out! I will definately stay at this hotel again. The only thing that was a bit of a problem, was that I only found 1 vending machine and ice machine on each floor, which made some of our rooms far from the machines. But that is hardly a big deal!

I have to say that the ambiance of this place is very nice, the staff was helpful and friendly. My problem was with my room. Although located in a scenic part of the courtyard it was not clean and the air condition did not work. The front desk sent someone to "fix" it but it took them 30 min to get there. I left the room and they assuered me that it was a quick fix. When I returned later that evening it still wasn't fixed. I called again and they came right away and again assured me that it would be a quick fix, it was not. They never ended up fixing it and I had to insist on another room, instead of it being offered to me. I ended up moving rooms after 8pm.

We enjoy staying at Crowne Plaza very much. The one draw back we had was the air conditioner. To much noise and really didn't keep our room cool in the evening. I did open the sliding glass door to get air but the traffic was also load. We do plan on staying there again and hopefully it will be different.

This establishment really knows the importance of taking care a guest... especially an ICH Platinum member. I arrived on the weekend and my room was upgraded to one of their very lavish suite. My family had a great time there. I will certainly come back.

We were upgraded to a larger room by a friendly reservation person, and we were pleased at the look of the room, Nice view from the balcony, roomy. Unfortunately the beds (2Q) were soft on one side, where most single sleepers laid. On checkout day we left the "do not disturb" sign on the door when we went to breakfast, our suitcases unpacked, etc. The sign kept falling off the door during our stay, so it wasn't obvious from the outside that we had put it on the door handle. When we returned to our room the maid had already made up one of the beds, and cleaned the bathroom. Duh. We used the bathroom, dirtied another towel, used a coffee cup. Wonder if the maid recleaned the bathroom or just swiped a dry towel over the surfaces. This has happened in other hotels also, and it makes one wonder how really sanitized rooms are between guests.
