Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Beds were a disappointment One of the beds had mens black hairs in it and we had to get the staff to send up a blanket so we had something to sleep on. The sheets were stiff and the blankets were like cardboard. the pillows were so soft there was no support. We had three staff stay and all three said they didn't sleep well. Very disappointed. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 Not what I was expecting from Springfield's "finest" hotel We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't even take a shower until the third night because there was no water pressure the first night, then no HOT water the second night. We told the staff twice and still there was no resolution. We were supposed to be on a discounted rate and upon checking in, the rate was increased to almost double!!! When we went out to look at the city from the rooftop lounge one evening and found the doors were ziptied close to keep kids from accessing it (there were over 1,000 kids for a mock government meeting there). There was also no breakfast included, even though I have Gold Elite status. Not exactly what I was expecting from what is supposed to be Springfield's finest hotel. I suggest you save money and stay at another nearby hotel...I wish this wan't the case being Springfield is my home town and all. Good luck! P.s. the beds were actually very comfortable! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good value Crowne Plaza Springfield is a good value for your money. Free parking is a plus and the rooms are always clean. The bathrooms need a little updating, walls/ceilings need some work and mattresses aren't as comfortable as they used to be, however new flat screen TV's and frig in each room are nice as are the free shower/bath items. Furniture was obviously worn, bed was not comfortable, place didn't feel clean, room service was very limited and expensive, there was no desk in the room for use with computer and could not get computer access in the conference rooms. I had specifically reserved a room with a walk in shower, but did not get one. Gratefully I at least was given a room with grab bars in the tub. It was so different, quite a let down. I don't understand why they wouldn't wait until check out time or make sure the person has left. March 4, 2013

The take away from my story will be to make sure that you get cancellation numbers for any unneeded reservations BEFORE getting off the phone with customer service! Recently cancelled two unneeded reservations for a business conference by calling the hotel directly. The staff on the phone took my confirmation #'s and told me that an email would be sent to confirm/document the cancellations. Well enough, right? WRONG! Days after conference, direct bill shows up to office with charges for previously cancelled rooms as "no shows". Calls to hotel reservations result in being told no record exists of the call, cancellations, or even an attempt to access my reservations to cancel them in the first place. Of course I didn't jot down the name of the young lady I talked to when I cancelled (driving between offices at the time), and sure enough an email was never sent to our office. Now it becomes a "he said vs. she said" argument, and hotel staff politely let me know that hotel "policy" dictates that "the customer is always wrong"! Not the way I remember it, and not the way I run my business, but it's their "policy". I don't appreciate essentially being called a liar, and will stay elsewhere in the future!!!! Moral --- document, Document, DOCUMENT your cancellations, and don't expect to win against "hotel policy"! March 1, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth the cost I wanted to treat my girlfriend to dinner and a jacuzzi suite for a nice Valentine's Day getaway. The jacuzzi was nice but that was about the only nice thing there. The double doors into the room didn't set right so everytime someone closed a door on that floor the door shook and you could hear every conversation in the hallway even with the TV on. The people next door were hollering and partying until roughly 1:30am and sounded like they were in our room due to lack of soundproofing. A few hours later the fire alarm went off, which I understand isn't the hotels fault, but when we came out of the room we were told by hotel staff it was a false alarm due to steam and that we could go back to our room. For another 15 minutes the alarm was screaming right above the bed so we waited in the bathroom where it wasn't so painfully loud. Of course at that point the next room started being loud again ( We could literally hear one of the guys getting sick in the bathroom) so we gave up, packed up and left. When I checked us out at the front desk the lady apologized but offered no discount or comp of any sort. We will never stay here again, next time we'll stay and the much nicer Holiday Inn Select a few hundred yards away. February 25, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Facility & Cleaning Still an Issue Greeted by Aimee with FANTASTIC customer service. Recognition for PC Platinum was provided, but property perks are not in line with other properties. Staff was able to isolate the fraternity group and the middle school groups on floors so as not to bother the other guests. Room had new sheets which were very thin and over starched. It was very uncomfortable and loud when shifting/turning at night. The bathroom floor had clumps of old hair in the corners near the tub (which is a common problem when I stay at this hotel and reported in the past to management). The floor was also cleaned with a substance that made it very slippery. The HVAC would only blow out warm/hot air and by 3am, the room registered 85. Only opening a window resolved this issue. While things are better over the past few months, it certainly seems like the basics of maintaining and cleaning the facility continue to struggle. February 17, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by A Very Pleasant Stay! My husband & I attended a Winter Wine Festival in the hotel. As expected, the hotel was beautifully decorated and the staff were 5-star friendly! Our room was very nice, had a small fridge, a nice large TV screen and a comfy bed with extra pillows. What more could you want? The breakfast buffet the next morning was delicious and the staff were very friendly and accommodating. Perfect! February 8, 2013

Just wasn't as sharp as it could have been. Small things in the bathroom. Other dirty areas in the bed area. Hopefully was just some slight oversight by the staff. February 3, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Overall OK Room was nice - especially larger bathroom. Sheets were a bit too crisp - starchy so not very soft - somewhat itchy. Nice restaurants. Hotel is right off the freeway so a fair amount of traffic noise - especially in the morning. Think that would be true of either side. Housekeeping did not replenish lotion so I had to ask for some at front desk. The worst part is internet access that was so slow I could not use it. Overall it was pleasant but doesn't meet my needs for ongoing stays there. January 30, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Terrible Cancellation Policy Unfortunately, I must provide a negative review regarding my stay. I booked four rooms for one night stay on Monday of last week. The cancellation policy was by Sunday night before 6 p.m., which is pretty stringent. I learned Sunday night that I wouldn't need one of the rooms. I called at 7 p.m. and was told there was nothing the hotel could do, and I would be charged for the room. When I arrived at the hotel, I was told the same thing. I could understand enforcing the policy if the hotel was full, but when I checked in, it was quite obvious that the hotel was empty. Additionally, we used three of the rooms. I have stayed at this hotel in the past and like it there. While you may have gotten that extra night from me last week unfairly, you will not receive any money from me in the future. I will definitely look for different lodging on my future trips to Springfield. There are plenty of options right in the same area. January 28, 2013

If you needed something she was always there to help. Nikki at the registration desk was a very pleasant young lady. Overall...I thought this year's convention went very smoothly!!! Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by First time this hotel has disappointed me. I have stayed at this hotel numerous times. This was the first time I was disappointed. My room was dirty, and looked to be in the middle of the cleaning process when I arrived only housekeeping was no where to be seen. I contacted the front desk and they did send housekeeping up to finish. However the tub did not even appear to even be rinsed out after housekeeping had returned. There was still dirt in it. Dust was everywhere, perhaps this room had not been used in some time. I can live with dust, but a dirty tub is not okay. It was the first time I have ever felt uncomfortable in a room, there was just a unclean feeling about it. The furniture was a little beat up and there were stains on the comforter and lamp shade. I will try again as this is the first bad experience I have had in staying at this hotel. I have been staying there at least twice a year since they built this hotel and it was the first bad experience that I have had. Prior to that we stayed at the Holiday Inn and loved the Holidome!!!! If I have another bad experience there are plenty of other hotels in the area to stay in. January 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by very quiet but bed was not firm enough We've stayed at the Crowne Plaza many times over the last 5 years with great satisfaction, but this time, the King bed was like sleeping in a hammock. Our backs hurt so we asked about a firmer bed and was told they were 'all the same.' Humm. Changed from a King to a double. Better, but still mushy. Front desk was responsive and polite but I may not go back until the beds are flipped more often or they are replaced. No treadmills were in the gym so we were disappointed about that and the jacuzzi was being refilled while we were at the pool so we couldn't use that either. January 7, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Wonder place----wonderful staff! We had another wonderful experience at Crowne Plaza. We have gone there in the past and have never had a bad experience! The place was immaculate, the staff was very attentive and friendly (and very helpful)! We had a small snafu that was out of the control of the staff and yet they reimbursed us so sufficiently-we appreciated that! The suites are great and very roomy and the entire place was very quiet!
