adequate stay

April 23, 2015

Upon arrival the staff were very friendly and helpful. We didn't really require much assistance other than directions to good shopping so I can't really comment on service. The building itself is old and in need of some renewals. Our room was clean enough although again, it was not fresh and new. The door nob on the closet fell off in my hands as I opened it. Toilet was like the ones in elementary schools in the 70's, but bathroom in general was clean. Ice machine was very loud so luckily we were not close to it, would recommend asking for room far away from it. Hallways were in need of cleaning, a lot of room service dishes left for long periods of time. Did not think about the fact it was prom season along with both the Cardinals and Blues playing that weekend. Our last night was loud but certainly not the fault of the hotel. Parking was not as scary as I was lead to believe but would not leave anything in the car (don't do that on my own drive way either and I live in a safe area). Overall it was an o.k experience. I would not make this my first choice next time nor would I recommend it to anyone else. That being said, I wouldn't say don't stay there either. If you have no other options, it would do.

Great Location, But That's About It

April 23, 2015

This hotel is located right next to the Arch. Great location for visiting downtown, and our view of the Arch was great on the 14th floor. Bed was nice and comfy, and the TVs, dresser, desk, and nightstands were newer, but they had failed to update the carpet and other furniture, which made the hotel still feel very old and somewhat dingy. A/C units were ancient, and one of ours wasn't working until we called maintenance, and even then seemed to only half-work. Bathroom was probably the smallest I've ever had in a hotel room- I get that it's an old building and you can't change everything, but more could have been done (i.e. new carpeting and couches/chairs) to mask that fact. Elevators were slow, which is an issue when you have a 29 floor hotel. I've stayed in several Crowne Plazas before, and this experience was not up to par with the rest.

Wonderful Staff

April 22, 2015

Richard the Bell man was the most friendly and efficient person. He helped us valet/check in and helped with our check out experience! the gals at the front desk were also wonderful, they had actually read my requests on my reservation and helped out regarding those needs. Thank you for making our day end and start out GREAT!
