Under construction

January 29, 2015

The hotel is undergoing construction so it is a bit noisy at times. It was also a very busy weekend with the Winter Carnival and some ice races in St. Paul. The rooms are very comfortable and well equipped. The halls were not vacuumed the entire 4 days I was there. The hotel was quite full and had an large event Saturday nite. The restaurant food was better than I expected based on Yelp reviews. With the exception of one of the staff, the staff were excellent and helpful.

Room was very warm, turned thermostat down to 66 degrees and the room stayed at 74 degrees, other than that it was a great room.

Seedy Surrouindings

January 22, 2015

My wife and I and our two friends ( husband and wife) spend an evening at the Crown every year at this time for a Wild game. The first year at the hotel it was obvious that the hotel needed updating. Last year the renovations started and we were optimistic that even though we were inconvenienced the renovations would be something to look forward to this year. We made reservations for a King room but when we got into our room we had two beds. My wife went to put things in the closet and the closet door fell off. We had to call maintenance to have it put back on. We were missing a light, the room was very dark and were promised a desk light which never came.
The room was so hot we both couldn't sleep because the thermostat wouldn't work. When i got up in the morning I went to open the bed stand drawer and the handle fell off. We all made a decision that this is our last stay at the Crowne. We will pay a little more to stay at the St. Paul from now on.
Please take note of this and try and fix it.
