The hotel is going through a major renovation so some of the ratings for the common areas were a little lower. The staff did a great job of keeping noise to a minimum as much as possible and keeping the areas cleam

Not bad considering ungoing construction

I found the staff friendly and especially supportive in accommodating to changing my reservation when -- with a prepaid room -- they would not have had to. The room was clean, the bed welcoming, and the bathroom quite roomy. Some negatives: painfully slow or frozen internet at any time besides morning, a small room only good for sleeping, not socializing, and ongoing remodeling, which led to some occasional odd, irritating noises from time to time that impeded napping and meeting and put parts of the hotel out of commission. On the plus side, we were given a room next to our colleagues with a connecting door, which came in very handy. Remodeling may be the reason why the lobby and meeting area felt like they had been stripped of character. There was no furniture for sitting around in the meeting area. There is not much to do in downtown St. Paul, but that is not the fault of the hotel. For a conference hotel it was affordable, clean, and pleasant enough.

As you had mentioned we are in the process of becoming an InterContinental hotel; as a result, we have not, yet, fully installed the new soft seating, wall hangings, or decorative pieces. Depending on our multitude of room types the square footage varies. Larger floor plans/layout are available upon request pending availability. I will be communicating your words with management teams as well as staff members today.
