Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Elegant hotel but still has to work hard to deliver consistent service The suite is around 55 sqm •Very nicely designed: combination of moulding with elegant contemporary furniture •Small seating area with sofa, desk and flat screen television set. •Bedroom separated by glass wall with comfortable bed, sofa, closet, kettle, free water. •Large and superb marble bathroom with Duravit Oval Bathtub designed by Philippe Starck, separate rain forest shower, separate toilets. The White Company amenities. •Very quiet. View over a elegant courtyard, facing contemporary offices Good: •Very nice interior design of the hotel •Location which is central (even if not in the most touristic part of the city, but with some underground/arty places in the immediate vicinity: you may find at 5 minutes walk distance the trendy and great Loft Project Etagi, with cool terrace restaurant) •You can reach easily most parts of the city by metro (there is a metro station next to the hotel. During summertime, I would advise you to rent some bikes (bike shop very close to the hotel), as Saint Petersburg is a large – and beautiful – city , with many interesting places in some different districts. •Most of the staff is very helpful and smiling (concierge lady the day of check-out, reception staff in the evening and at check-out, restaurant staff) •There is a business lunch option starting at 12 which is a very good deal, if you wake-up late as I did (EUR 15 for an all you can eat buffet or some days a 4 course menu). The 4 course menu offers pretty good food. Much more interesting than the breakfast at extortionate price (EUR 23). •Convenient airport limousine service at decent price. •Nice fitness centre. Convenient business centre with printers Bad •The check-in experience was not exactly the best/the smoothest I have ever received •Part of the staff is poorly responsive/has poor customer orientation: -The bell boy knocked heavily at the window of the taxi to ask him to leave, without even noticing that I was a customer, and of course without taking care of my luggage - The “Concierge” the first day was unable to give me some details about metro (“what price for a week? I don’t know. You should ask at the metro station”: great information; “do we have some metro tickets? Oh no, we don’t”, she said laughing nervously , as if I asked her to dance a polka. “I can book you a ballet, but that’s it”) - You are welcome by a security guy in the lobby. His job is to look at you suspiciously, but not replying to your hello, and of course not smiling (a local tradition) •There was a true issue with housekeeping, with a literally quick and dirty attitude. The first day, there were some stains in the toilets (and was not cleaned the next day) . The second day, tissues and toilet paper were not replaced, despite being empty. The bathrobe was removed but not replaced. It was not a problem for the staff to make a bed with a big stain on the linen. It is only the last day that room was perfectly done, with nothing missing. •Wifi can be very slow and does not work all the time •Only the last day was delivered a newspaper •It was very challenging to get the required fax hotel's booking confirmation to receive the visa January 4, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not customer-oriented The hotel reception asked for an "early check in" fee (unknown term for me) for getting my room after 10:00AM in the morning (!!), claimed that I can only get it by 14:00 otherwise. For this service, the hotel charged me 50% of their standard night price which was eventually almost like another full night stay (as I paid less than the "standard price"). I had no one to speak to, they made me a big favor (after I pushed for this) allowing me to speak with the head of Reception who basically had only one thing to say - "that are the rules". I am a very frequent traveller and never experience anything similar. January 3, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by MY FIRST STAY AT CROWNE PLAZA ST.PETERSBURG LIGOVSKY My stay at this hotel was a real pleasure not only thanks to the well situation in the centre of town but to the kindness and always friendly service minded staff. Especialy I thank the staff of the Restaurant, the reception and the concierge, as well as the drivers. Next time coming to St.Petersburg I will certainly stay again in this hotel December 19, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Exprience The location of this hotel is perfect either for business or for pleasure trips. Rooms are very comfortable and the attention from the personal is first class! absolutely recommend it! November 28, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Need to train restaurant stuff to be more polite My corporate rate do not expect breakfast included to room charge. Nevertheless I made special extra charge per booking on my credit card for it. I was really amaze on the next morning when I showed my room key and went to collect food that hostess followed me and in rude manner said that I have to pay my breakfast. Is it really hard to see in the system that I have enough credit to pay and pay at least respect to my Gold ambassador status. It's really extremely frustrating thing about this hotel. BTW the waitress has to wait until I finish course before collecting plates in front of me when I read my newspaper plannig to finish my eating. October 13, 2012
