Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Our favourite "resort style" stay Most of our stays away from home are at Surfers Paradise Crown Plaza. This is obviously to do with the comfort and service we experience at the Plaza and also to do with the location. There is plenty to do on this part of the Gold Coast. If you like to walk, you can easily get to the Casino, Pacific fair, Cavill Avenue and the beach. The promenade goes forever. You can drive easily if you wish to explore or do the theme parks. The courteous staff at the Plaza are great with assisting your "tourist needs". The Plaza itself is relaxing - if you just want to "chill out", the rooms are spacious, the two pools are inviting, the bar is friendly and quite often my wife and I will go there just to listen to the "piano man". Breakfast is great and nothing beats having a lazy breakfast in the revolving restaurant on a Sunday morning OR a meal in the same spot during a summer evening over the weekend. Booked a unknown hotel deal through Wotif and was very pleased when I got this Hotel as I had stayed there before. Huge room with spa, however the decor is a bit dated. Clean and had a great view. It was advertised as five star , witch it is not. Its a good solid four star and a nice place to stay on the Goldie. April 27, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by OVER ALL A GREAT STAY Staff friendly and helpful. Stayed in a 1 room apartment ocean view very clean with a very comfortable bed overall a very pleasant experience. Dinner at Four Winds very nice with a big selection of food to choose from. Would recomment to friends for value . Special mention Gail who resolved a boooking issue in a fast proffessional and courteous manner. Room package including dinner and breakfast excellent value. Will most definately be staying again April 26, 2013

Room was very large with a balcony looking directly over the Pacific Ocean, king size bed, spa bath, large wardrobes, and all of the facilities you would expect in a standard room. The room was very clean and housekeeping did a great job during our stay. Although the hotel building is quite old, it is maintained in top condition and very clean throughout. Walking through the halls or around the grounds you would feel that you are walking through a new property. Each of the two towers have swimming pools and spas, free car parking for guests. To top everything off, the hotel has a revolving restaurant with a seafood buffet each night.. The location of the hotel is directly half way between Surfers Paradise and Broadbeach (an easy 20 minute walk to each) and only 5 minutes walk to the beach. Many cafes and restaurants are within a small distance. Would I stay again? YES Value for money? YES - pay the extra and upgrade to gold tower which provided you with a spa bath and ocean view room Food? GREAT food April 25, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by The little things matter It's the little things you notice in such a competitive market and the Crowne Plaza never failed to impress. Elevator doors were open in the foyer, ready to take you up to your spacious room. The complementary sparkling wine & chocolates on arrival made the "wow" factor we all experience when opening a hotel door even more wow. The hotel staff placed us on pretty much the highest floor, which meant we had a pretty decent view & private balcony. The concierge was helpful & friendly, and we're yet to find something he cannot do. Cheers for printing out our tickets. Our friends who were staying at another hotel were suitably jealous of our room. Definitely the little things that made our stay here so good. April 16, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great location and fair service I choose to stay at IHG for its consistent level of meeting expectation regardless of where you are in the world. Crowne Gold Coast is perfectly positioned, has ample parking and I found the concierge along with the restaurant staff to be of a fantastic level of service. My only disappointment was the lack of recognition of the loyalty system, no upgrades offered even when asked after allowing time to be offered, no newspaper, no late checkout and no loyalty envelope on arrival. These are all areas I've come to expect from years of staying at IHG. As this was also my wedding weekend of which I advised, again nothing was extended as a loyalty member. Overall I would stay again, but maybe inclined to look around for other option before committing. April 13, 2013

The facilities are great - especially the lovely pool, and the views are amazing. The cleanliness of the room and the hotel in general cannot be faulted. And in the other tower we had to drive around twice looking for a park..I would think it would be better to allocate one parking bay per room. March 24, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Comfortable rooms We found our room to be very comfortable and of a very good size. We stayed in a King Bed Deluxe Spa Studio. Also the Mini Bar pricing for the wine was very acceptable paying only $15 for a bottle of reasonable white wine. Would recommend staying here and look forward to another visit later in the year. Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Not worth it!!! I went down to the GC for an early birthday treat for my wife thinking Crown Plaza Gold Tower was good but am extremely dissapointed. For starters we booked a king spa delux rom..but we couldn't even fit into the spa. To get in I had to have my knees up and not being comfortable..and that was just by myself! Secondly the pillows were so rock hard. We went for a relaxing weekend but have ended up with a sleepless weekend due to uncomfortable pillows. Even the spare pillows were pathetic. Next the car parks. There are numbers on the ground, presumably for each room, but our number was always used by others. From this we had to use other car parks and couldn't park in the same spot. And on saturday night there were more cars than there were parks...obviously some were for visitors which then clogged up the already tiny carpark. Finally on our way out the lady didn't even ask how our stay was otherwise I would've told her how unpleasant it was for both of us. Usually I like to stay in the room as much as we can because we paid for it, but this time we were relieved to get out. There was no Gold Tower reception either which meant under-funded which is quite obvious. March 11, 2013

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by FANTASTIC We had an amazing time yet again at Crowne Plaza Gold Tower. We've stayed here many times before and it was just as good if not better. Unfortunately the weather wasn't the best but the MANY hotel features made sure we had plenty to do. On our first night our in-room spa broke down but the staff were fantastic & had it fixed with in a couple of hours. Room Service was great & the quality of the rooms outstanding as usual. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Gold Tower has a nice view but no Wifi. We stayed the first night in the Gold Tower and it had a nice ocean view. However, there was no Wifi in the room so the staff moved us to the El Dorado Tower next door. The room was fabulous! Modern decor like our home. Wifi. Big tub but no jacuzzi jets like the gold tower room, but no big deal. Easier access to the spinning restaurant on the top floor. Thank you for a lovely stay. February 26, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good and Bad Great start when was given a bottle of sparkling wine for my partner to enjoy for valentines day. Television didn't work first person to look at it told us to pack our bags and that we would be upgraded for the inconvenience then another person showed up and took half an hour to fix the television and told us it wasn't 100% the remote is broken too and you need to wiggle the buttons. Is this 5 star service? Told I couldn't use priority privilege card in four winds for dinner on the night we stayed... wasn't the happiest but then we ate in the relish restaurant. Rose the waitress was sensational and very good at her job she went the extra mile and was more than helpful. Had breakfast there too although an Asian man stole our table and then we were re-seated next to him he was quite deliberate in staring at my partners breasts leaning over to our table to have a better look. Great food although we had to leave earlier than we should have due to how uncomfortable it made my partner February 20, 2013

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Great Duty Manager, Uncomfortable Bed Overall amenity lagging way behind equivalent European venues very uncomfortable bed, outrageous internet charges given the current free wireless world we live in, this was explained as being beyond the control of local hotel management and was strictly imposed by IHG, our lasting impression saved only by the actions of an excellent Duty Manager, no visible Platinum member benefits offered or gained, probably look elsewhere next time. We got two phone calls at 1am in the morning which woke us up. Plus we ordered breakfast and dicovered mould on our bacon. Overall for the money spent it wasn't good value. February 1, 2013

Rooms were comfortable not as modern as i thought they would be but clean and comfortable. only downside to a wonderful visit would be the resturant, the menu was overpriced and dull, there was no one dish that seemed terribly interesting nor did they taste great. and the waiters and waitresses i found had poor table service i found myself getting my own drinks 75% of the time whilst dinning in the resturant. Aside from that it was a fabulous hotel and the staff were very friendly and weloming!! January 30, 2013

However, every time I asked the concierge to book me a taxi I was strongly encouraged (multiple times on each occasion) to use a limo service (at an increased fee). There were two occasions I could've felt bullied in to feeling like I 'had' to take the limo service. A frustrating and almost offensive experience every morning and evening. Rooms were well kept except for thick, salty residue on exterior glass. House-keeping was fair. "Spa" is just a fancy word used to describe the bath. Small and almost unuseable for a large adult. Not a great location. Long walk to beach. Long walk to the centre of Surfers. Long walk to Broadbeach. Long walk to any decent restaurants and nightspots. Best to only book here if you plan on not leaving the hotel. January 20, 2013
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Great Place For a Relaxing Holiday This is the second time we have stayed in the Gold Tower and have really enjoyed the experience both times. We stayed in a 1 bedroom suite this time and this was excellent. The concierge facilities are second to none. They are fantastic. We paid $10 a day for parking and they brought the car up speedily as often as we needed it. They answered all our questions and helped us on many occasions. We did, however, experience a problem with the air conditioning in the first room we had. The manager in this instance was excellent during a difficult time as the hotel was completely full. We received a written note of apology and the promise to help whenever the hotel could. The air con was supposedly fixed the next day. However, the noise came back even louder on our 5th day and was unbearable. The service technician was unable to fix it so we had to shift rooms. This was a bit of a pain as we had unpacked into drawers etc as we were staying a week and I hate living out of a suitcase. The manager this time was not as helpful and made out that we were better off as we were going to a higher floor. We would actually have preferred to stay where we were (I hate heights). This is the only reason I have marked the hotel down. There was no letter this time nor an apology. This let the hotel down for our overall experience. However, I would recommend the hotel to anyone that wants to go as it is in a good location and other than that one manager the staff are outstanding. January 11, 2013
