Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by excellent break away we stayed in both the main tower and the gold tower. both rooms were really nice and very clean. we did find the bed more comfortable in the main tower, the pillows were really soft. Not quite as comfortable in the gold tower, pillows and bed were a bit hard. but other than that the experience was good. we ate at relish each night. the meals were excellent. Breakfast was ordinary so we only went one morning. February 2, 2014

My Partner and myself stayed in an Executive King Ocean view room, we had a view from our balcony of the ocean which was beautiful and in the bathroom we had views of the hinterland which was also very beautiful. The room had a corner bath which was absolutely amazing as the rest of the bathroom was. The only downfall which is quiet minor was that the room was really dusty on bench tops and even on the "Mini bar" snacks. Staff here do not have the customer service you would expect for such a nice hotel. Other than that the Crowne Plaza is defiantly somewhere to consider staying and also consider upgrading to an ocean view! Highly recommend going to dinner at the Revolving Restaurant which is located on the very top floor. January 28, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Thanks for a great base for our visit to the Goldie Great place , great location , fantastic staff but for the one fella that was on reception desk when my partner Mandy booked in. He was rude and more interested in the half naked other guests outside unpacking their vehicle. Other than that , FANTASTIC and we will be back again for our 3rd time. The stay has left us all with great memories from the stay at the Goldie and your hotel is a big part of that . Well done. Cheers January 27, 2014

Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Not as good as it use to be As a long standing Priority Privilege member I have had better stays in the past. We organised the room over the phone asking for two double beds but on arrival we were told we were up graded to a king bed room based on our last stay without the kids. But we had specifically asked for two doubles over the phone to cater for the kids. Secondly I can only guess the cheese platter we would normally get on arrival must have been in the King room as it never made it to the double room. In the past there would normally be some form of welcome from the manager either in a letter or on the TV, it always made us feel welcomed, and valued as long standing guests. This is Queensland, we were quite warm despite the air conditioning as we only had doonas and no sheets on the bed. The furnishings were dated and chipped. The location is great. January 19, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Worn out room. Renovate or rebrand. Friendly staff. Room was like straight out of the 80s. Very worn out furniture, very hard-to-use water tap for both the sink and shower. Many common amenities need to be requested specially ie. hair dryer, slippers, toothbrush... Very inconvenient. This hotel desperately needs a full renovation or get rebranded. Not the standard for Crowne Plaza. Only good thing is the fantastic ocean view and staff. IHG gold members not having much benefits here. Free Internet for IHG elite member has a limit of 600MB per day. "Priority privilege" club get a better treatment with discounts. Inconsistency with member treatment is a very big issue for IHG. Sort it out soon; don't disappoint your most loyal members. January 17, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Clean tidy rooms Awesome service from staff. Myself and my two daughters stayed here for three nights and we will be going back. Room service was very prompt. Breakfast was on time and was nice having a choice on when we could have it delivered. Food prices were reasonable. Was great being able to wash our washing while we were there. Loved the pool easy access. We loved going to the four winds restaurant as well is a little pricey but well worth it!! Overall best hotel we have stayed at!!! January 12, 2014
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 Average stay Online booking system was a bit dodgy as I was not able to distinguish between the two properties properly (main tower and Gold Tower) or a X star and a 5 star property. My impression was that if its Crowne Plaza, it had to be 5 star. I also found the cleanliness in the room of average standards, as the balcony was not properly cleaned (specially the glass). In all other IHG hotels for my similar my 2 room "family" bookings we are usually allocated adjoining rooms. I booked months in advance, checked in but was surprised when we arrived at the rooms that they were separate - but on the same floor. Staff were indifferent and did not understand why a separate room kids aged 2 5 and 7 was not appropriate. We immediately checked out and found a similar place the kids loved. January 12, 2014

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful View and Lovely Room We chose to stay overnight for the air-conditioning one 45c day... I have to say the air-conditioning was excellent! We got a ocean-facing room, and the view was great from our 20th storey room. One slight annoyance was that the A/C would turn off any time anybody opened the balcony door. As my partner is a smoker, it meant a lot of trips to the control panel... But I do understand why this is necessary. Overall, I would highly recommend a stay at the Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise. It wasn't the cheapest room on the coast, but it was not unreasonable for such a premium room in a great location. Go, spoil yourself, and have a great time. January 8, 2014
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Unforgettable wedding Our wedding was unforgettable. The staff were all outstandingly experienced and caring. The chapel was excellent for our small wedding of thirteen guests (the chapel can hold much more too, say, five times as many if required, or more, even, than that). The grounds for the photography were ideal, a tropical sort of backdrop to the photos. The hotel was complete with all the standards met at the highest of expectations. I recommend Crowne Plaza Surfers Paradise to anyone wanting to hold a wedding in a grand, tropical-styled, upper-class environment where the staff are very helpful. Our whole event was faultless and unforgettable. Well done to Crowne! January 6, 2014

When you look closer its apparent that this property has fallen into disrepair and would benefit from a renovation. Peeling wallpaper that staff walk past and over, peeling paint just reinforce that this property needs some attention. 6 nights of my 7 night stay were interrupted by the neighbouring guests. After three complaints I asked to be moved. I was upgraded to suit which was nice. This should have been offered earlier when it became apparent the neighbouring four young guests were staying at the hotel to party. January 5, 2014
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Could be great but cleanliness was a let down so just good Check in & check out are very easy & reception staff were efficient. Swimming pool is also great. The room size was good plus the balcony is also great. Had a nice view of the city & ocean. Bed and pillows were comfortable. The room given to us was near the corner, which was also good so that not many people passes by. The major let down was the overall cleanliness of the room. 1. On our 1st day, upon entry to the room, the carpet could easily be noticed that it was either not vacuumed at all or was done haphazardly. There are crumbs on the floor. 2. Desks, side table, and headboards are dusty. 2. Our day 2 housekeeping was the worst. On our return to the hotel, the supposedly washed cups that we've used have marks of the hot chocolate we had for breakfast. The bed was not made up properly. At least on the succeeding days, the one who did the housekeeping washed the cups properly. 3. We stayed for 5 nights & the bed linens were not changed at all. 4. The shower tiles need serious cleaning as it got lots of grime. Would definitely need to be cleaned with bleach. Leave the tiles with bleach overnight. Trust me this works! January 2, 2014

I asked for complementry 2 drinks and again that was declined by Ms Emily. I could get free internet from McDonald without buying one drink. I paid almost $750 for 4 nights accommadation and limited food. One morning at breakfast my wife asked the waiter for one coffee take away to have it in the room while reading the newspaper and that was declined, unless we pay for it. I was in Crowne Plaza New Zealand last months and free internet was provided for 4 days no charge. December 27, 2013

Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by good location but staff less common sense I feel the hotel located good place to take bus easily. And it is very close to the beach and the river. But I also feel very helpless about the staff common sense. On the Nov. 5th noon, I checked out, and then I kept my luggage at the lobby. I waited the shuttle bus at the lobby for more than three hours. I forgot my red coat and blue jeans in the room but during I stayed at the lobby, no one cared me. I feel the staff are less common sense and are not professional. When I got the Gold Coast airport, I remembered my property left and called the reception and the front manager. They told me the next day they would give me confirmation. So till the next day noon I called them again and again, finally, I got the answer, my property really left there. So I asked them to post my proterty to Melbourne where I would stay next . After I paid them, they posted my property to my appointed hotel. I have to say the staff are not professional and never care guest really. During my whole stay, none of any staff recognized that I am a member of IHG Rewards Club. December 3, 2013
