Crowne Plaza in Syracuse... great food!

The first night at the hotel, the restaurant was crowded so we ate in the lounge.... great service, fast, friendly, and great food! Our room was very clean and well maintained. Only lacked drawers for clothes, and perhaps a full shower door instead of 1/2, but still a create place to stay.

This Crown Plaza was conveniently located in downtown Syracuse and at a great price. The room and beds were modern, clean, and very comfortable. I definitely recommend this hotel and will stay there again if I'm ever back in Syracuse.

Furstration and Inadequate service

My recent visit to the Syracuse Crowne Hotel was very frustrating. I will never visit this property again.

After a 10 hour day with 3 hours of travel, I was unable to easily enter the property for check in. The drop off location at the front of the property had three cars parked, one of which was partially in the street. At this time it was a sever thunderstorm and road construction in front of the hotel as well. Finally after circling the hotel twice an alternate rear entrance was found between the main hotel and its conference center. When mentioned to the check in staff, it was not acknowledged. To make things worse, the check in staff further were telling me the room arrangements we previously made were not possible. After much discussion the initial arrangements were honored.

Off to parking - the parking garage has been striped for three cars between each concrete pillar, a tight fit at best even for compact cars. Guests parked so only two cars and sometimes only one car could park in the three allotted spaces. After much searching we were able to find a space on level 3. Unpack 2 to 3 bags per person; physically carry all to the elevator to head down three floors to the main lobby of the conference center. From there you go back outside, travel across the driveway into the main hotel to find another elevator. Find the correct elevator (A, B or C) to make it to your room on floor 1 through 19.

Enter room to find the roll away bed standing on end in the room. A half hour later, now 12 am, we can finally get prepared for sleep and our 8:30 am meeting the next day.

Morning breakfast at the hotel's restaurant was poor. Buffet consisted of thawed fruit, scrambled eggs, meats, yogurt, pastries, toast, waffles and omelets. Coffee, tea and juices included all for $14.95. The food was bland, marginally warm and apparently sitting there since they began serving at 6:30 am.

All in all, not a jewel in the Crowne.
