Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by I Won't be staying here again I travel to Tampa several times a year for business and stay here as its convenient to my office. Pros: it has a good breakfast.The rooms are clean. There is a restaurant onsite and shuttle service is good. Negatives: Don't leave any possessions behind you wont get them back. I left my glasses in the room. I rang the hotel from the airport as I had colleagues there who could bring my glasses home. I rang when I arrived home. I knew exactly where I had left them. The front desk will do nothing but put you through to a lost and found answer machine. I asked to speak to management who stated they would look into it personally, despite continued calls over several months. I did not receive a single return phone call. My next trip to Tampa (4 months later) I pay a personal visit but of course my glasses are not there. So I am $350 out of pocket and won't be staying at this hotel again due to the refusal to acknowledge me or allow pickup or return my possessions. April 20, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Crowne Plaza West Shore April 2013 The tower rooms at this hotel are absolutely over priced for the size and location. I spend between 18-25 nights a month in Hotels all over the US, Canada, Asia and Europe in comparison to size quality and price the facility is by far the most over priced. Granted the staff tends to smile a lot and offer complimentary conscious (which they never deliver) but for the price it is not worth the stay. During my last visit I was relocated from a Cabana suite to a tower room due to maintenance required in another room. I was offered 2 complementarity dinners and a refrigerator in my new room for my inconvenience. I cleared the before 10 the next morning, when I returned that evening from my business the hotel had already placed someone back in the room. Two issue with this move, if the relocation was due to a quick fix why weren't arrangements made with me to for a time to go in and do the maintenance? Second the conscious offered where not delivered. It wasn't until late in the evening and 3 to 4 phone call's and 2 trip to the front desk that I was able to receive a refrigerator.. I have spent at least 10 days a month in this Hotel since October 2012 ( Because of my Travel Agent) but in the future I will find somewhere that is compatible for the price of a good nights sleep. Even though we weren't really on vacation, the hotel staff treated us as though we were dignataries from out of town. We stayed in the cabana suites by the pool. Not only were they comfortable, the were roomy and supplied our every need. thank you Crown Plaza Tampa. April 10, 2013
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful hotel! The people were amazing, the upgrade to a suite was welcome, and the room....the room was perfect! Right off the pool, even with families playing down there, we didn't hear a peep. My wife and two boys commandeered the king bed, I was worried about sleeping on the pull-out couch. I was asleep in minutes; it was the most comfortable pull-out I've ever slept on. In fact, I'd sleep on it again! The bellman was incredibly nice, the airport valet apologized for keeping me waiting 10 minutes. Walking distance to great restaurants and a wonderful mall, and a very quick drive to the airport. In a heartbeat, I'd recommend this hotel and stay with my family every time we're in Tampa. April 5, 2013

Same breakfast menu has not change. On a long day, the food in the bar is very good. So if you are tired, no need to go out. Again overall - Very Good Hotel. April 4, 2013

Iron was broken and housekeeping had a replacement within 5 minutes. The service I received was excellent. Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Beautiful hotel room, but noisy Upon arriving I was pleased with the proximity to the highway, as this stay was for work. There was plenty of parking, beautiful rooms, nice pool and gym. However, as happy as I was with the very contemporary and modern styling of the rooms and appreciate the fact that I was placed on the top floor the hotel, on Saturday night, I was woken up by VERY loud music coming from Mojitos bar/lounge that is downstairs. The music and vibrations from the bass went on until 2am. A call to the front desk, got me an apology ... "I'm sorry, but yes there's a club downstairs and there's nothing we can do." I was very disappointed that such a high end hotel would allow such loud music. Loud music to wake someone up on the 11th floor! Also very disappointed that I wasted so many of my IHG Platinum status points to stay in such a loud hotel. The worst part was that I had to wake up at 4:45am for work, making it even more of a nuisance and then they don't even have free coffee in the lobby for my departure (because it's too early.) As much as I enjoyed the amenities, I would not come back. I like to enjoy my rest and sleep when I stay at a hotel. March 31, 2013

However on my last stay there, they no longer put a stick of sugar cane in the drink. The waitress told us they recently stopped doing that. That was the BEST PART of the drink! Bring it back!!!! The shuttle to and from the airport is fabulous and the driver was very nice and quite helpful. The pool is great and long enough to swim laps. Pool towels are also provided - nice touch. The exercise room is more than adequate for a hotel and very clean. There is a treadmill, an elliptical, and a recumbent bike - all with built in TV's. There is adequate air-conditioning and towels and water. There is also a separate weight room and free weights. There is a Starbucks in the lobby - best to go there in the AM only.There is also a restaurant in the hotel - however, at lunch the bartender is the only employee .It took over 30 minutes to get a sandwich to take out to the pool. The location of the hotel is great. Just a few minutes from the airport and a 1 block walk the the mall. The mall was very nice with upscale stores and upscale restaurants. Walk just one block off the main street and there are lovely neighborhoods to walk in with wide sidewalks and lovely homes. But above all the front desk employees went above and beyond to make my stay great and made a great impression. I would definitely stay here again and recommend this hotel wholeheartedly. Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by Rooms need updated a bit We recently stayed in a suite at the Crowne Plaza and we were not impressed. The room was dark and gloomy, as there was bad lighting throughout the whole suite including the bathroom. There was one built in light in the room that we really needed (over the kitchenette area) but no switches worked to turn it on. The couch/sleeper sofa needs updated. The room was not as clean as it could have been. The floors were not clean and again, the sleeper sofa had crumbs inside the sofa. For the price we paid, I expected a much nicer room. However, the hotel staff were friendly and location was decent. March 28, 2013

Ceilings are quite low in the hall - hotel is not as extravagent as it appears, but all in all it was fine. Great location. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Definitely Coming Back Due to some scheduling difficulties on my end, I did not get to spend as much time here as I would like. However, I will be back. The room was great, though I would like to see the other side of the building before I make any assessment about the view. Again, I was not there long enough (or early enough) to enjoy the pool, Mojitos or any of the other amenities. I will be back though as the location is wonderful Easy to navigate to and from this location to basically anywhere in the Tampa/St. Pete area. I cannot WAIT!! March 19, 2013

I travel alot and I was absolutely pleased with the friendly associates form your hotel. I wish I could remember here name but she should be formally recognized for her customer service. Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Friendly staff and clean, comfortable rooms Upon checkin, I was delighted to find that because I was a priority club member, I was upgraded to a VIP room. The room was tastefully and modernly decorated. The bed was extremely comfortable and I don't usually care for beds other than my own. The room was spacious enough to be able to put up our porta-crib and still have plenty of room to move around. The breakfast buffet that was included in the price of the room was wonderful! A variety of hot foods to choose from as well as fresh fruit, baked goods, cereals, juice and lots of fresh, hot coffee! Negatives: there were no microwaves available for us to nuke the babyfood. The staff at breakfast reluctantly used their kitchen microwave for us but, that left us without a way to warm up the food the rest of the day. And, there were no cribs available at the hotel so we were required to bring one with us. March 14, 2013

The Crown Plaza is located close to the airport, Restaurants and 2 big Shopping Malls. The rooms were comfortable and affordable. We will be back there again. Their over all knowledge of restaurants etc.in the area was very valuable to us.We had a problem with the coffee pot not working in our room, they addressed it right away. we had a new coffee pot within 20 minutes. I was on the 8th floor, ceiling tiles were missing and there was a large gash in the center of my room. Furthermore, I thought it was really petty that they wanted to charge $5 a day for a refrigerator that would have to be brought to the room. Really? Overall, I wasn't really impressed with the hotel--I was surprised it had such a high start rating upon arrival. Best part though--the bed, very comfortable! February 20, 2013

Everything from the quality of the room, the helpfulness of ALL the staff that I interacted with, to the outstanding breakfast served, room service and exercise facility made my stay an excellent one!! Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Excellent Property Horrible Shuttle service Came in for Gasparilla got a good deal on the room. It was a clean room, great view. I'll definitely go back when I staying in Tampa. Friendly staff. However DO NOT USE BLUE ONE Transportation group. They are a 3rd party shuttle servive group that the hotel has on site. They charge $10 a person and only drove us 4 miles to the parade. Their vehicle smelled like vomit and the driver gave us a business card and told us he'll pick us up later. Later came a we called the company and the driver made us walk 2 miles away from the parade so he can get to us. 2 hours waiting he never came and never picked up his phone or called back. After a long time of searching for a cab we finally got one and he only charged us $5 a person to get us back. That company is definitely making Crown Plaza look horrible. February 2, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Worst Stay Ever Paid for Excutive Club floor Stay, which was not that at all. Checked in, sent to 11th floor never told no ice machines or soda or snacks on that floor. Club floor sitting room locked and dark. Asked for King bed which turned out to be Queen size bed. Nothing special for this floor. Was told that there would be Starbucks coffee in the room none for 2 days stay and all I got was excuses. Was told I would have one day stay taken off my bill that was not done I was charged the fee for when I made the reservations and then when I left. Manager would not come to desk when I went to complain. This was not an EXECUTIVE FLOOR STAY. And when my husband was coming back to the room a bunch of drunk women from the bar accosted him and made advances to him. This is liquor being served to the excess to bar patrons and guests in the hotel. January 26, 2013
