Super suite, wonderful food, attentive staff, excellent cleaning staff and we thoroughly enjoyed the spa centre. We found the public rooms to be rather too cool for our comfort, but that apart, a memorable stay which we will certainly repeat. February 13, 2013
Rated 1.0 out of 5.0 by Spa weekend Unfortunately this was the worst spa hotel we have ever stayed in, NOT a 4 or 5 star experience more of a slightly unmarked travel lodge/motel. Dirty carpets in all public areas, surly staff, appalling food, not a relaxing stay, beware of the flooring in the pool/spa areas loose shards of very sharp gravel. No hotel information in rooms or toiletries in bathrooms. This is not a hotel for relaxing in, Stay away there are much better hotels in the area. February 10, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by 2 out of 3 nights spoiled Crowne Plaza Vilamoura stay & Problems PROBLEM 1 - At check in- my wife commented that they had not recognised that I was a PC Member Staff Response - When we pointed this out they took my membership number recognised my platinum status and upgraded the room, they stressed we could upgrade again to a suit but it would cost 120 Euros to do so (WE DECLINED) PROBLEM 2- We were asked if we would like our Credit card details taken and book extras to the room which we did We had a 1st day and nights stay and booked extras to our room from restaurant and hotel bar, I signed the bill at the end of the meal for wine and at the end of our night at the bar - no problem On the 2nd nights stay we had our evening meal outside of the hotel at a local restaurant and returned to watch the hotel entertainment and had drinks at the bar I signed the bill at the bar as per previous night and went to bed ***We received a telephone call at approx 10 minutes past 12 (Midnight)*** regarding no credit on our hotel room to pay the bar bill, this upset my wife being woken and quizzed at this time through the night, I took the phone off her and asked why it couldn't have been discussed the next morning, they responded that we had no credit to pay the bar bill I got dressed and went down stairs where I was welcomed by a member of staff with a dress jacket on (still don't know who he was) who walked to the bar with me I stressed I was unhappy with the situation and that the same staff had served us the night previous with no problems, I had logged my Ccard with the hotel room 408 and signed for the bill Guy in jacket marched me to front desk where I explained I was a platinum status member - his whole attitude changed upon hearing this and tried to then back track and apologise, by this time I had had enough and went back to bed My wife in the morning approached the front desk (I was still upset about the night before) and discussed with the Stand in manager (normal manager unavailable) He was very apologetic admitting it was the hotels mistake - their system had lost our details, and they should not have contacted us through the night to discuss They sent wine and cheese as apology Problem 3 - We understood the problem and made an effort to enjoy the remainder of our stay We went to the hotel restaurant on our 3rd night and ordered a bottle of wine with dinner Upon leaving the restaurant we were asked to sign the bill but were told we had no credit available - again!!!! We had to explain all over again to the lady at the restaurant, she phoned the front desk (at this point there was a growing queue behind us - embarrassing to us) and we then approached the front desk to sort They were not very helpful - we explained again and got no satisfaction, we went to bed upset and angry at 20:00 hours to escape the problem This was a Birthday suprise for my wife, we were intending to return for my birthday in May - somehow I don't think we will January 30, 2013
Rated 3.0 out of 5.0 by No Priority Club Recognition, Poor service to the rooms Whilst the Staff were very helpful and friendly( I can not praise them enough) and the Food was excellent,especially the evening meal, I would have liked to have the Hot Dishes on the Buffet to be better advertised, prior to entering the Restaurant( we only realised the buffet was on when we went to have an A la Carte Meal. Also there is very little for Pescatarians at Breakfast(Smoked Salmon or Gravadlax) would have been nice. On the Downside, NO Recognition for Priority Club Membership(Platinum), no upgrades despite the hotel being near ly empty Despite paying for a Seaview Room, The view was poor, Only one person could sit on the balcony as only 1 chair, Similarly in the room. The servicing of the room was poor, had to ask for replacement toiletries. Even though they advertise tea and Coffee Making facilities, The Coffee maker only warms the water, and the tea and coffee was only replenished a couple of times during an almost 2 week stay providing you asked for it to be replenished. I recommend this property, but with reservations January 16, 2013
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by MRMR55 Have stay here 3 times before and it has down hill big time, Had to turn on all the taps in the shower,sink and beday room for 5 mins or so to have a hot shower, the quality of the breakfast was very very poor, the coffee was undrinkable I would not recommend this hotel/dorm to anyone I will not be going there again January 9, 2013
