great hotel

By

April 16, 2015

Hotel was great. Very clean and modern, nice pleasant and helpful staff.

Pool and spa is charged for unless you have a special booking. Breakfast is my only complaint. the staff do not offer any coffee unless you ask and getting their attention can be a task.

i often had finished my breakfast before i could get a coffee.

overall though a nice well positioned hotel. The people are lovely and extremely friendly.

Excellent Hotel

club

We really enjoyed our holiday staying at this hotel and would definitely stay here again. However, we did have a few gripes with the hotels swimming pools. They were both freezing cold, despite being advertised as heated. It was also very disappointing to have to pay to use the indoor swimming pool - this is something that should have been free.
However, the service, food, staff, the rooms and the hotel overall was really good.

A/C and breakfast

By

April 16, 2015

The Air Conditioning in our room was not the best so it did get a little hot a night.
Breakfast - a lot of eggs were wasted by the clients of the hotel as I am observant when I go out to places.
A lot of the 3 minute eggs were proper hard boiled eggs and people were checking these at the counter and leaving there as were not the 3 minute eggs that were advertised.
The toast machine was very slow and had to put toast in some mornings twice to brown them and other mornings was ok, this caused waiting ques.
Tea - 3 out of the 8 days we stayed we were served with nearly warm water but not hot enough for our tea so had to re order hot tea pots,
Other than this we had a great time and staff were great.

Seaside stay

platinumelite

We spend 6 nights at this property and although the weather was a real disappointment, we have overall enjoyed our stay here. The only slight criticism I could share here now would be lack of restaurants during the day. The main restaurant opened for breakfasts and evenings, but during the day, it is only bar area with some sort of snack food available. Surely, there are plenty of places outside of the hotel, but if I'm asked to wish for something for this property, I would say that would be it. I have read reviews prior to booking and it gives really mixed feel, when reading. Some people love it (quite a lot) but there are quite a few who really didn't. I would hardly find anything to dislike that much, it is true although, it is hardly 5 star property, but it is definitely solid 4 stars. The -1 floor area is quite a bit outdated and the kids corner is quite a disappointment as well, as leaves you feeling like in dungeon. It would be good to spruce it up a bit. Strangely, the hotel doesn't have any guest lounge, that would normally be available at other properties of this chain for Platinum members (or maybe I have not found it). Reception staff was extremely helpful and attentive, they helped us to locate wonderful place for our little girl's pony rides. But in general, this aspect is rather poorly addressed at the hotel. There is one stand with brochures - where to go and what to do type of things, but the region obviously offers a lot more than that, and there are plenty of guests with kids who I'm sure would enjoy something else and not only waterparks' adverts. The other thing, for those who is driving from Faro airport, don't trust your navigator, as it will try to confuse you and drive circles in nearby village, when you simply need to go to Vilamoura itself (follow road signs) and once there, you could rely on your navigator. We have spent a lot of time on the way from airport, trying to locate the road to the hotel, as GPS was trying to lead us to non-existent roads, but finally figured it out. When arrived to the hotel, reception staff said, it is very common with their guests to get lost just around the corner from the hotel, when following GPS... BUT all in all, we liked it very much!
