Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Not good room at the front whistling for taxis starting @5:30am.... Called out of my room at 11:00 to recheck my credit card. Locked out of the room, keys not work.... October 26, 2012
Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by Disappointing stay The Hamilton Crowne Plaza is overpriced, and disappointing in terms of value and quality. I booked a five night stay in an Executive Room (on the 14th Floor) with full breakfast for two guests each day. Despite the fact that I was a Platinum Priority club member, there was no attempt to give me a good room. I was given a room on the 14th Floor (Executive Level) but the room was very small and looked straight on to an office building, where I could see the workers through their windows (and they can see me as well). The Executive room rate was supposed to include "Drinks and snacks" from 5-7pm on weekdays. When I enquired about this at the front desk, I was told that the "Executive Room is closed for renovations, but we could have the complimentary drinks etc at the Front Bar instead...just show the bar staff our room keys" However, when we later showed up at the bar on our first day, we were told 3 different stories. The concierge said that "there is no such thing as complimentary drinks for Executive guests"; the bar staff said "Executive guests do NOT get free drinks but will only get one free appertiser if they bought some drinks" and the restaurant staff said "Executive Room guests do not get any complimentary stuff at all, it has to be paid for" Needless to say, we were so disappointed with this that we did not bother to pursue this for the rest of our 5 day stay. Another disappointment is that the hotel charges fees for internet usage at the rate of $12.95 per device per day. In this day and age, many hotels provide free wi-fi. Even despite paying top dollar for an Executive Room (and non-existent free drinks etc) it is extremely disappointing that the hotel still wants to charge more for internet access. I think better service and value could be obtained elsewhere. I will definitely not be coming back to the Hamilton Crowne Plaza. October 22, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good service & excellent location Rooms were clean, comfortable and the service was good. Excellent location in downtown with easy access to museums, memorials and the convention center. October 21, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Good location Comfortable bed The hotel and the room was ok. The room view was terrible (a/c view). A lot noises in the floor at 4:00 am October 21, 2012
Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Simply lovely A beautiful, botique hotel conveniently located in Downtown Washington, DC. The attractive and welcoming entrance and lobby prefaced the tasteful and inviting room decor. The impeccably-maintained room was tastefully decorated and provided three evenings of much-need sleep. The bed linens were crisp and cozy, the bathroom attractive and bright, and the on-premises restaurant offered a delicious meal in a pleasant atmosphere. The entire staff was efficient and accommodating. I'll gladly return to this hotel on my next visit to Washington, DC. October 19, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Say NO to Executive level room Nice property and excellent location. Don't bother with executive level room. No executive lounge and staff unaware of executive benefits. October 18, 2012
Rated 4.0 out of 5.0 by Group rate not honord Upon checkout I was informed by a colleague that I qualified for our corporate rate. Since I booked directly and it was at checkout, the front desk would not make the adjustment in my rate. Not good customer service for a Prioity Club member. October 17, 2012
