I was rather disappointed with my room. While not actually dirty it was rather grubby. The hotel is in great need of an update and I expected more for my money.
I am one of those people that actually unpacks and a lot of the drawers with either broken or very hard to open and close.
The mini-fridge in the room did not work. I reported it on the first night and they told me they would have it fixed the next day. We returned to the room late in the day and it still did not work and there was no message on the phone or left in the room explaining why. It was a very important amenity since we brought sandwich fixings to take to the fields for lunch between games.
The fan in the bathroom did not work so there condensation on the ceiling that dripped on you while showering--not a pleasant experience.
We were given discount vouches for the breakfast buffet but given no information on the hours of service or the cost so we had no clue what to expect of how to plan.
Each room had tiny balcony which was nice. It required a key to unlock and the gentleman that came to unlock it after calling the front desk acted like he was doing me a favor vs providing a customer service.
I sent my daughter down to the desk to ask for an extra coffee pack and she was refused because you can't give caffeine to a minor? What the heck? She could have feed coins into the vending machine for a Mt. Dew that has more caffeine than my cup of coffee. At a minimum they could have called the room to check to see if it was authorized by me.
Check in was pleasant and quick and express check via a phone call was very convenient and easy. As a priority member I was given cookies at check in which was nice.

Rated 2.0 out of 5.0 by clubber Nice staff but not much else
The front desk was helpful and the restaurant staff was kind and smiling. However, my room wasn't cleaned the second day, which was a disappointment. I was advised only after the fact that I should be out of the room by 8 AM to have my room cleaned. The bathroom was way too small as the top of my head almost touched the ceiling. Again, the hotel staff I met were helpful and kind, but the hotel's infrastructure is getting old. There are some major renovations needed, especially in the rooms. The breakfast pancakes were soggy and the bacon was way too brittle.
Oh, and there are train tracks across the street. One train woke me up at around midnight.

I was very disapointed when the room I reserved for my daughter was not available.
All I ask for was a bench and hand held shower so she could take a shower.
The food in the restaurant was very bad.would not eat there again.
The bartender,Louise,was great.
The bar stools were very uncomfortable.
They really need to look at this room and update the whole bar.
The hotel needs major renovation.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Leanie843 Very nice hotel
Stayed at the Crowne Plaza Williamsburg for two nights.
Hotel was very nice, clean and bright. Rooms are older but very nice, roomy and clean. Only problem was we were at a convention and there was lots of walking in the hotel back and forth to the functions and our rooms were all over the hotel which was hard for senior members. Would stay there again but ask for a room closer to the lobby. We ate at the restaurant for the breakfast buffet and it was very good. We also had dinner at the restaurant and it was very very good. Very nice stay.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by K760 check out service
I only stayed one night. At 615AM I had someone knocking on my door. Before I could get there, they slipped the quick checkout bill under the door. I did not appreciate the early morning wakeup!! Just slipping the bill under the door would have been sufficient.
The other comment is that a group of students on a field trip were on my floor. In the morning they were banging doors as they ran from room to room. I believe the hotel should have reserved the entire section of the hotel for the students instead of putting regular clulb members in their midst. Teenagers will be themselves so you cannot change their behavior outside unless they are taught that they have to be respectful of others when they are in such an environment.

I stayed at the Crowne Plaza for my sororities formal. Check is was at 4:00 and when I got there at 4:45 there was a line wrapped around the lobby. I know there were a lot of us getting there all at once, but they should have been prepared. I shouldn't take a hour to check 50 pre-reserved rooms in. We were told that many of the rooms were not ready yet. If you have a group of 100 people coming, don't you think they'd be prepared. The hotel itself was fine, average on most counts, but the service was bad and they treated us as if we were the problem, not the customer.

Rated 5.0 out of 5.0 by Sanny dog friendly, comfortable, perfect location
From the moment I arrived, I was welcomed. The ladies at Registration gave me fresh baked cookies, and a couple of biscuits for my dog, as well. Doggy also rec'd scratches behind the ears. My room was clean, on the first floor, and near an exit (just right for those middle of the night "walk the dog" excursions). Outside the door in a grassy area were doggy poo bags and a suitable trash can. I saw at least a couple other doggy visitors during my stay.
As for the "person" part of the trip, my king sized bed was very comfy, full of fluffy pillows, and covered in yummy sheets. The room had a couch and chair, a large coffee table, and even a two-person bar with bar stools! Just right for enjoying breakfast or supper.
I had a bit of difficulty with the HVAC in the room, but one mention of it to the front desk, and the maintenance people had it repaired.
The location of the hotel (and large conference center) is just perfect for Colonial Williamsburg. Maybe not exactly a walk, but only minutes from the historic sites and the College. And THREE pancake/waffle places within a stone's throw! What's not to like?
Restaurant and bar in the hotel are not doggy accessible, so plan on room service or bringing take-out food into your room. Plenty of delicious options around the general area.
Only one real annoyance, and that was the idling tour buses outside the room's patio doors. Probably this was unique to my room, since I was on an end near the bus parking area, but they were there for hours, beginning well before dawn. It's a popular hotel for visiting college sports teams (some of the kids expressed their exuberance in the evening in the hallways), so the buses do have to park somewhere. I am spoiled by the no-idling laws in my state.
