Great location, price and customer service

As with all IHG properties that I have stayed, this one did not disappoint either. My stay at Crowne Plaza Midtown was quiet nice. The entire staff was awesome from check-in to check-out. I even arrived early for my stay and all accommodations requested were met. I will be in Atlanta once a month for the rest of the year and if an overnight stay is needed I will be staying here.

2 Hour Check In

This was a very poor experience. We weren't planning to stay in Atlanta for the evening, but poor weather caused us to miss our connecting flight. Almost all of the hotels in the area were booked by the time we arrived, and this was the closest we could get to the airport.

We arrived around 2am only to find a check in line of approximately 20 people. It took us 2 HOURS to finally get checked in. And the worst part was everyone in line already had a reservation. They just had to check in and pay. I also learned that the line had been like this for at least an hour before we got there. And there was at least another hour worth of people to check in after us. So, overall it probably took them more than 4 hours to check in 30 or 40 people.

They only had 1 person working behind the desk (which isn't a surprise because how many people really check in at 2am?). However, he was extremely slow. After waiting 90 minutes they finally got someone else to help. She was able to check people in at least 2 or 3 times faster than the original guy.

We were stuck with this as our only option because all other hotels were booked. Most people in line (including us) only got a few hours of sleep because our flights were rescheduled for the morning. You think they could have given us a discount for the significant inconvenience (and the fact that we were using the room for only a few hours), but that wasn't an option.

I know this was a very unique circumstance, but it's still absurd that we had to wait 2 hours to get our room. Hasn't this happened before? With Atlanta having the busiest airport in the world, I guarantee they have had to deal with a significant number of late check ins before.

The only nice thing was the security guard who passed out a bunch of water and snacks to those waiting in line. But a snack at that moment was a pretty poor consolation.

If you find yourself in a similar situation do absolutely everything you can to find another hotel. Honestly, I wish I would have just stayed at the airport and slept on the ground.

GT Clinic

I attended a coaching clinic at Georgia Tech. The hotel was convenient, inexpensive and a pleasurable stay. The rooms were well kept. The complimentary breakfast was outstanding. I will attend the clinic again next year and stay here again. Thanks, Gary

Great Location Great Service

We really wanted a Hotel close to Midtown and were not super picky. The Hotel more than met our expectations especially the proximity to Northa Ave Marta, Ga Tech and The Varsity !!!

Check in was extremely fast and easy and the room was nicely climate controlled and clean .

The staff was very accommodating and friendly in helping with directions and recommendations for restaurants and points of interest. I would recommend and look forward to my next stay.
