Customer Service lacking

As a Platinum member, I felt insignificant for the very first time. My negative experience was dealing with a credit card authorization form. I was attempting to have someone stay in a room under my account. After 7 calls, a fax that would not work, and people who kept putting me on hold and completely forgetting about me, I had enough.It also didn't help that in all my frustration, employees were arguing with each other. This is a beautiful property that was not living up to IHG standards on that day. I might give this property another chance, but I will think long and hard about it.

Unacceptable

This was by far one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had. I maybe slept for 2 hours tops the entire night. People were slamming doors from 11pm to 3am. The curtain would not shut properly, allowing the light directly into our room. The maid service tried to open the door to our room at 7:45am. Buffet was less than appealing. There was construction that started early in the morning with hammering and grinding. I planned to let the person checking us out of the hotel know how horrible our experience was but she didn't even bother to ask. I don't usually write bad reviews but this was an awful experience to say the very least.

conference food

Not sure if this comment should be directed to the catering staff at Crowne Plaza or whomever was responsible for making the meal arrangements for the ACA of Texas conference. I informed the conference organizer that I do not eat meat/fish prior to the conference (but said dairy, butter, cheese, etc was acceptable). The vegetarian lunch option on Tuesday, February 17th, however, was a pretty dismal excuse. There were about 3 pasta options provided that day - all containing meat. The vegetarian option was "grilled" vegetables, 2 salad options, and bread. I say the vegetables were "grilled" because there wasn't a grill mark to be found on the squash that was overly steamed in the hotel pan. Overall pretty disappointing. Also, the conference schedule said lunch was to be served from 12-1:30 but the buffet was packed up shortly after 1PM #not that I would have wanted seconds...#. I will be submitting a similar review to the conference organizer but thought this should be passed on to Crowne Plaza staff as well.

Good stay

Spent two nights at the hotel. Good ambiance and very accommodating. Not too far from downtown and nearby attractions.
Did notice a stain on my blankets. It was minor so I didn't make a fuzz of it but I would recommend staff to not let it happen again.
