Comfortable beds, but horrible service

I stayed at this establishment and the room, ambiance, and cleanliness were above par. However the customer service, if you can call it that, received from the front desk staff did not meet my expectations of an establishment that was respected my business. From the rude phone conversation with the front desk regarding a request for a late checkout, that was blindly denied and followed by the front desk slamming the phone down as the disconnected; the nasty individual who answered at the front desk when we called with a random question. The vibe that I felt from the staff was very unwelcoming. When I requested to speak with a manager, that request was also denied. I get the feeling that the hotel was only happy to see me depart. In my opinion, the front desk staff needs more training regarding customer service.

Less than desireable

I was told that IHG Reward members could request to check-in early online 24 hours prior if rooms were available. I requested a 12:00 noon check-in time. When I arrived at the hotel I was told it would cost $75 to check-in early!!! I refused to pay that so I waited. I didn't end up checking in until 3:55 pm. The room was clean and looked fine. However the refrigerator in the room did not work. I called down to the front desk to inform them but no one would answer the phone. I finally went down to the front desk to inform them and was told that they would take care of it but nothing was done.

Dear startraveler2015, Our check in time starts at 4:00pm. Early check ins can be requested, however, we have no way to guarantee a room will be available for early check in. When there are large groups departing from the hotel, it is less likely we will be able to honor the request of early check in. We do apologize for the confusion. hotel is clean, staff is congenial, room is more than adequate. Must compliment maintenance during a snowstorm they make sure that the parking lot was cleared and accessible for people coming and going.

Needs to upgrade

Entire hotel needs to be upgraded. Add a fireplace, no safes in rooms, provide a bathrobe, mini bar or at least a fridge, professional looking doorman, waiting taxies, better food, smiling desk clerks - Sorry but just needs a face lift all around.
