Needs renovation

The hotel is one of the older ones, but doesn't look like they have done any room or common area renovations in a long time. The stairwells are open to the parking garage so having to use a room key for access would be more secure.

Dear bk1015, Thank you for your comments and suggestions. Normally the stairwells that you are speaking of remain closed at all times and are basically just fire exits, but due to the nature of the weekend of your stay, we had anticipated the high demand on our elevators and to relieve some of this stress we opened up all the stairwells to be used as normal guest passage. The elevators themselves are on room key access on any floor above the parking garage. This property was renovated in 2010, and won an award for design. Overbooked and below average

Booked well in advance and the room we wanted was overbooked. We were comped a small amount that was no where near worth the hassle. Staff tried to help but wasn't great in doing so. The roll away we were promised at 6 pm didn't come up until 12 after we called the front desk about it 4 times. Not that clean of a hotel. Overall, not a great experience. Would probably have to have someone pay me to stay here again. I know of friends that actually had to stay in a different hotel despite having reservations as well. Low price is not worth the hassle.

Dear Bill721, We apologize if your reservation was not the room type you had requested, and that the discount or small comp, as you put it did not help to ease your frustration with us. As you are aware there were many college students in the hotel during your visit on TX/OU Weekend, and it was nearly impossible, dispite added security, cleaning staff, front desk and bell staff to keep up with the demand generated by the unruly behavior. We appreciate your comments, and will use them along with others to be better prepared for future events. Also, it is only right to be honest, that yes we did have to send some patrons to another location at the same rate. We, in this case all hotels/restaurants/lounges and such, were dealing with a type of controlled chaos during the weekend of your stay. The activities of all of the fans and spectators was enough to be considered newsworthy up to the national level. May we all be better prepared in the future, as we do not condone the behavior, nor do we value one type of guest over another. Again, we apologize and hope you will find understanding and forgiveness in your heart, as we attempt to be all things to all people and try to satisfy as many of our guests as possible. Thank you. Worst Hotel Experience Ever

Hotel staff was rude, inconsiderate and refused to help me with several problems. A/C did not work and no one came to fix it after repeated calls to the front desk. Room was nearly inaccessible due to elevators being broke. Front desk hung up on me and was extremely rude when asked about continuous fire alarm sounding. Bathroom was dirty and had hair in it upon arrival.

Dear work man We would like to apologize to you regarding all of your issues. The fact of the matter is that, as you are aware, we had a house full of a group of unruly University of Texas and Oklahoma University fans that decided on two separate occasions to pull the fire alarm pull stations. We apologize if during these two events, if we were receiving multiple telephone calls and telling multiple guests it was a false alarm. We did not mean to be short with anyone, nor were we refusing to help anyone with anything. The evening of TX/OU Weekend, is a crazy time in Dallas, and we apologize if your A/C problems somehow fell through the cracks. None of this was intentional and we were attempting to take care of everyone in the midst of all the college student and alumni mayhem. Thank you for leaving a review and taking the time to voice your opinion, again we are sorry that you had such an experience with us. We will use your comments and what we learned during the TX/OU Weekend of 2014 to be better prepared and take further action in the future weeks and years ahead during this event and any similar. Is as the reviews say

To start, I have to make sure you understand that the front desk staff and their driver are top notch. Much higher than the hotel or my review. Their service was always pleasant and friendly.

However once you step in to the hotel hallways you realize you are in an old hotel with a weird smell in the hallways and bedrooms that eventually you just have to get used to.

Parking is simply a nightmare and it is not cheap either. $16 per 24 hours. What really took me over the edge is the fact that I left and came back and my transition to leave the parking lot was seamless... the first time... I gave them name and room number and we were on our merry way.
When we checked out and were running out to a business meeting I was met with rudeness and hostility at the parking booth and questioned to no end. Without coming out and saying it out loud we were surprise on how clear it was that the gentleman at the booth did not believe us that we stayed at the hotel and demanded that we provided a receipt of our stay for him to inspect. If I had more time I would've stopped up front to have a chat with the hotel manager but I made it very clear to the parking attendant that I will never stay at this hotel again to which he simple shrug his shoulders and let me out of the parking area.

Night and day comparison between the front desk staff and the gentleman that was working the parking booth the morning we checked out.

I would give this hotel zero stars (and I stay at a different hotel every week day) but for the sake of those who actually did something right I decided to give it 2 stars.

We do want to apologize for any rudeness and inconvenience caused to you by the attendant at the parking garage. The truth of the matter is that the garage is owned and operated by a third party, even though it is part of the building. We will be taking your comments up with the ownership and management of the parking garage. We also want to apologize to you in regards to your dissatisfaction with our hallways and the room itself. Yes we are an older hotel, but we are constantly making updates and combatting the natural effects that age will do to a building.
