Stayed here for work purposes- unfortunately i was working nights so had two short naps only
i usually struggle o have early evening naps but the bed was so comfy and the room sufficiently dark, it was a pleasant surprise!
I really don't like paying over £10 for hotel parking tho..

Changes for the worse, not the better. (Terrible breakfast)

I used to stop in this hotel for business over a year or so back. It was my favourite. My wife was looking forward to stopping here after my feedback but, following a terrible breakfast experience, we both said we would not stop here again or, if we did, we would not use the restaurant.
This was a reward night so we purchased breakfast tokens at check in.
When we arrived in the restaurant for breakfast, I noticed that they had extended the bar area which was good as the area before was quite claustrophobic. Unfortunately, the changes did not stop there. The breakfast area now had those dreadful hot lamps that just dry out your food if not regularly topped up. They have also stopped serving toast to the table and provided one of those toast machines that on one pass provides warm bread and on two passes burns one side of the toast.
I was given my poached eggs which I requested on sitting at the table. However, when I went to get the remainder of my breakfast, there was a queue of five waiting. The reason, almost all the hot breakfast options had run out. Okay, we all know this happens occasionally and you have to wait for the odd item, but four of the items - Bacon, mushrooms, black pudding and tomatoes were all out or, just left with the last remaining greasy morsels no one wanted. Well, we waited and waited and waited. In the end, I took some stogie beans and toast back to the table as my eggs were about to fly away. My wife said she would bring me some bacon and mushrooms back when they had been topped up. She did but, by this time, I had finished my meal, if you can call it that. Whilst I was sitting waiting for my wife to return with the bacon etc, I noticed the queue of persons wanting to get into the restaurant, no one seemed to be approaching them to take them to a table. My wife stated that the breakfast was the worst she had received in a hotel for sometime. The service was poor, the queues dreadful and the quality of the food once provided, well below any acceptable standard
When I stopped in this hotel previously for business, they had hot steel domes which stored the food and kept it hot and moist. The change to the lamps is for the worse. They also had someone constantly checking to see if anything had run out and would ensure that nothing did. If something did run out Pedro, who then worked in the restaurant would come to your table and apologise profusely.
The changes are for the worse and unfortunately finished our weekend break with a sour taste in the mouth. The experience was more like a POOR Holiday Inn Express, not a Crowne Plaza WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SHAME.
I did advise the reception on check out but they seemed disinterested.

Great Service in bar and restaurant

The staff was very friendly, attentive, and helpful in providing special meal requests. The Chef and the Manager personally talked to us to get ideas about what we would like to see as special menu for dinner. It was great to experience their personal and caring attitude.
