Clean but outdated.

Pros:
-Room and bathroom were extremely clean.
-Bathroom amenities excellent
-Friendly staff
-Excellent breakfast service and staff

Cons:
-You can hear all the traffic from the outside
-Bed was not quiet or comfortable
-When the drunks use the ice machine at 2am to fill their cooler, it wakes you up
-Had to use extra pillows to shut out light from hallway and outside

GREAT Service

I recently stayed at the Crown Plaza Boston - Newton and couldn't be more please with the service and quality of the hotel. I was traveling with my 19 year old son who is new to being wheelchair bound and this was our first traveling experience, coming to Boston from the Midwest. The ADA room with the roll-in shower worked perfectly for us and the attentiveness and support of the staff was SUPERIOR. We were particularly please with the great service from the gentleman, whose name I did not get, in the restaurant for breakfast each morning. The location was great for getting downtown and around Boston and we will definitely stay there on our next visit to Boston.

Aside from highway noise, (which became like white noise and not disruptive to my sleep), there was no disruptive inside noise.

Helpful staff, but check your credit card statment

Everything about this hotel was excellent, especially the helpful staff, *except* that my credit card was charged twice, once by the online travel agency and a second time by the hotel. I spent an hour on the phone (mostly on hold) with the agency, only to have them tell me that I should call the hotel. After I alled the hotel's accounting department (during business hours), a gentleman quickly reversed the extra charge. Still, I found it frustrating to have to spend so much time. Hotels should be more careful not to double charge.
