Featured Beijing Hotels

Enjoy all that this vivid, vibrant and vivacious destination has to offer when you stay in one of IHG's 22 Beijing hotels. Also known as the Northern Capital, the city creates a sensory overload with its fast moving eight-lane freeways, towering high-rises and sprawling apartment complexes, all underpinned by a dynamic imperial heritage. There is an order and symmetry amidst the mass of modernity, most effectively symbolised by Tian'anmen Square and its surrounding buildings. Beijing is not all expanses of concrete, steel and glass, however. The city is also home to opulent temples and relics from a bygone age. The best example of the ancient architecture is sure to be found in the moated Forbidden City. Once home to two dynasties, the city earned its name for being off limits for 500 years and is now a fascinating way to spend a day amongst the halls, exhibits and palaces.

There's an international diversity to be found on the streets of Beijing, with contemporary western fashion, technology and music scenes permeating the culture. But those looking for a more traditional Chinese experience will also find plenty of tea houses and venues serving delectable imperial cuisine across the city. Keep your eyes peeled for groups of older local people, who gather in the evenings to perform the loyalty dance known as yangkou. Amongst the city's alleyways or hutongs, haggle in antique markets and observe the locals relaxing with their pipes and pet birds.

If you find yourself in need of time away from the crowds, you'll find plenty of opportunity for relaxation in the parks, winding alleyways and exquisite heritage sites just outside the city. The Observatory, the Yonghe Gong, and the spectacular Temple of Heaven all offer a worthy retreat. To the north of the city you can easily take in the breathtaking spectacle that is the Great Wall of China.

Celebrate this colorful and contrasting slice of China by choosing one of IHG's hotels in Beijing. If you are looking for affordable, quality accommodation in the best locations, there's no better choice than IHG.

First Stay at Crowne Plaza Sun Palace
Was in Beijing for a short business trip and this is a wonderful hotel that the people working there are trully helpful. The food and service at the CP Lounge is excellent. On our way in, we [More] decided to take subway train to the hotel. As it was raining -- we were unable to get a cab and the hotel staff sent a car to pick us up while we stayed warm in the mall. Keep that up and hope to see this on all Crownw Palza hotels throughout the IHG network of hotels. [Less]
Best value in Beijing!
By TX Traveller
The hotel is conveniently located on Ring 3. The breakfast is great with many choices. I like the fresh squeezed orange juice very much and the noodle stand is great. The staff were very helpful and [More] were eager to greet me and always ready to help. [Less]
Rooms don't cool down, but everything else excellent.
By Cody in Texas
The lowest our room would go, even with all shades closed, was 23.5 C. We find that pretty warm, especially for sleeping. Engineering could not turn it down and seem fascinated that we considered [More] that hot. They said colder air conditioning was not available. When the room reached 27.5 during the day on day 3, we finally asked to be moved to another room where the sun was screened from the windows. At this type of hotel, we ought to have more control of the climate. [Less]

OK for business, very friendly staff
By ChingChoke
Rooms are adequate but a bit grubby and worn. Staff are very pleasant and friendly, try to be helpful; many speak very limited English. My experience with lunch in the Essence Restaurant was: can be [More] good (scallops) but can be poor (burger did not match order, very under cooked inside). Understanding manager explained trainees were the problem; if they were trainees, it sounds like supervision failed. Fine for a business stay, rooms really need a major cleaning. [Less]
Great location
By SeanMavDu
This is wonderful location to the shopping area, theatre and business centre. I especially love the local Chinese breakfast next to the hotel which was also a popular brand to the President of China. [More] As an art lover, the most famous theatre is right next to the hotel. Forbidden city is also accessible. So I'd recommend this hotel. [Less]
