Check-in was swift although the receptionist asked if I would like to pre-authorise my card or pay the bill - I asked to pay but when I checked out the following morning a different staff member
asked for my card as payment hadn't been taken. Not really a problem but not what I had requested.
Although very small the room was nice and bright and clean with all the facilities I needed and would expect from Holiday Inn. I decided to eat dinner in the hotel and opted for the lounge menu rather than going into the dining room. Service there was very good but the meal was disappointing - I have no idea how you can make a chicken burger so rubbery! I also find the whole 'food served on wooden boards' a bit tacky now but to be fair, maybe I was just unlucky as some of the other food that was served around me looked good!
No, I didn't complain and therefore it's a but unfair to complain on here but, as I said, maybe I was just unlucky.
Breakfast was plentiful and very good - my poached eggs were perfect so I did have a positive experience with the food and it wouldn't put me off trying again if I were ever staying here again. [Less]
