Featured Derby Hotels

With one located within the city centre and another within a 10 minute walk of the city centre, our Derby hotels offer value for money and a great place to relax whatever your reasons for coming to the city.

Located in the East Midlands, Derby is well served by trains to most mainline stations in England thanks to its central location. It is also located just off the M1 for easy access by road from the North and the South of England. The Peak District National Park is located around 30 minutes from the city by car.

Derby's All Saints Cathedral is one of the city's main landmarks and is certainly worth a visit, not only for the stunning architecture but also, if you're really lucky, to see some of the resident peregrine falcons flying around during the breeding season. The Grade I listed St Helen's house, which dominates the city's King Street, and the Victorian Market Hall on Market Street are certainly worth a visit too.

Derby Museum and Art Gallery is the place to be for fans of Derby's own Joseph Wright with a whole host of his works. The stunning Pickford House shows off the Georgian era with its fine furniture and decor.

Shoppers will find traditional shops and boutiques in the cathedral quarter of the city with a great range of stores. This combined with Derby's superb Westfield shopping centre - with more than 190 stores set in a stunning building - really sets the city out as probably the East Midland's prime shopping location.

Whether you're coming here to watch Derby County at Pride Park, to shop in the popular shopping areas or for an important business meeting, be sure to get the most from your stay with a night or two at one of our Derby hotels.

Good overall

Need a lot more choice for vegetarians. 80% of the dishes are meat dishes. [Less]
Close to the canal..
By mgbgt
First impressions on arrival? Edge of industrial estate. Reality? A short walk to the canal where you can wander along the towpath into the centre of Nottingham. Great place to base yourself if [More] you want to combine business and pleasure. Excellent porridge!! [Less]
First stay at a Holiday Inn, better than a budget hotel
By Rustic1
Every thing was excellent apart from the sheets on the bed were not quite big enough, so they rucked up during the night, just like standard sheets on a king size mattress, apart from that one gripe [More] the room, food and hotel were excellent, in walking distance of the town center and castle so no car parking problems. Most impressed
By UKtog
This was a business trip and although I am very familiar with the area and the Holiday Inn Express product this hotel still exceeded my expectations. Lovely refurbishment of the new look rooms [More] and very helpful staff. I wanted a room switch and they were so prompt and pleasant in handling my "would it be possible post" - the room was not correct due to the usual incompetence of the corporate supplier. The hotel is in a business park but a quick 5 minute/slow 10 minute level walk from Derby Station if you come out the Pride Park exit. The hotel is well geared to the business traveller and I was very happy as a single female guest with the visit. Opposite the hotel is a Harvester and a Chiquitos, because of business hospitality I only had breakfast in the hotel (the usual HIX offerings) which was adequate as ever. [Less]
just as expected but with one added value

the hotel was exactly as expected, with one added point, there was a communicating door between the two rooms occupied by the family. This enabled our toddler to safely move between the rooms. [Less]
Great place to stay in Derby
By DrWalt
We found the Holiday Inn Express in Derby a wonderful place to stay when visiting our daughter and her husband recently. The room was clean and comfortable and reasonably quiet. The curtains kept [More] things dark even though the sun came up very early. We would definitely think of staying there again when we return to Derby. [Less]

Bright spacious lobby, clean interiors and friendly staff. stayed before, and will stay again [Less]
Nice location

All good although I was disappointed with the rather dry steak pie. Good service, nice views and a quiet place to stay well within the hussle and bustle of the city centre. [Less]
Very friendly and helpful staff
By HannahR
On arrival the staff attended us quickly and seemed very keen to provide us as much or as little information about the area and hotel as we had wanted. The only small thing I had noticed which, in my [More] opinion, was not up to scratch was the cleaning staffs' attention to the walls. There had obviously been a spill of some sort that was up one of the walls, but I'm sure if I had bought it to the attention of the staff they would have rectified this for us. We stayed on a Saturday so there was a bit of noise from passing guests - nothing too disturbing. TV channels are much better since my last stay, and nice to have the complimentary hot drinks and toiletries. Can't fault the staff at all they were very helpful and reminded us that we could choose a late check out, so we did. One of the cleaning staff did knock at around 10:30 but explained that we didn't have to check out until 2pm and they were very understanding. [Less]
