Featured Exeter Hotels

If you're looking for Exeter hotels well situated for business, pleasure and travel, then you need look no more. We have a hotel close to Exeter International Airport and the Exeter Business Park. It's just 3 short miles to Exeter's beautiful cathedral and attractions as well. The Cathedral is an architectural marvel dating back to 1400, but this isn't the only spectacular building in Exeter. Both Powderham Castle and Lawrence Castle are impressive heritage sites. Be sure to pay a visit and enjoy the views!Exeter is home to two museums: the Royal Albert Hall Memorial Museum and Topsham Museum. The history of this city isn't just reserved for the museums, castles and cathedral. You can pay a visit to the underground passages of Exeter, a dark set of long passages dating back to Medieval times and running right under the centre. Not for the claustrophobic, granted, but a fascinating peek into a time gone by.

If you'd rather spend your time in the city centre over ground than underground, then why not pop into one of the two centrally located shopping centres? The Guildhall Shopping Centre and Princess Hay Shopping Centres between them have enough shops to keep even the most experienced shopaholics entertained.

Getting to Exeter is straightforward. It sits just West of the M5, has its own airport and has a number of train stations. You can get direct train services to London Paddington, Penzance and Birmingham amongst other towns and cities.

Almost good but needs a little bit more comfort.
By Leicesterpenguin
The stay for my family and myself was good but there were two issues of note. If staying longer than a few nights, you need to be allocated a room which can accommodate a family and luggage. Our [More] original room was too small but we were switched over then next day by extremely helpful staff. The breakfast was great and kept hot. The only downside was the sofa bed. My daughter found it very uncomfortable. I would ask IHG to look into replacing these as competitors have very comfy beds for children. It is very difficult to sleep on hard metal polls and no headboard. I challenge you to try a sofa bed for a night and see how comfy they are. [Less]
Helpful staff and comfortable surroundings
By Gloucester Gladiator
A nice hotel with very friendly, efficient staff, who assisted me with directions to the local exhibition centre. They also provided me with a toothbrush and toothpaste as I had forgot mine - [More] excellent. The room was spacious, comfortable bed with good facilities, such as a great shower and fast reliable internet connection. Check in and out was really fast and I was greeted as an IHG Reward Club member with a letter confirming my free internet access, and I was also provided with my reward points total. I will always stay at this hotel in Exeter.... as it also shares evening dining with The Ban Owl!! Many Thanks. [Less]
Rarely empty.
By Clancolin
This hotel is rarely empty nowadays. I have been coming here for several years and have seen many changes; introduction of hot breakfasts, room refreshes, staff changes, but the volume of guests [More] seems to be at an all-time high nowadays. This can mean a wait at the bar sometimes, as bar staff double as reception staff, but they are very friendly and work well to get their customers served - unlike other hotels I've stayed in, the staff don't hide in the back room here. The number of guests can mean the dining room is sometimes overwhelmed at busy breakfast times and I don't think the removal of "self clear" tables was a wise move. In fact, I wish they would go back to asking guests to remove their tray and dishes when leaving the breakfast room. It would certainly free up tables for others to use. Other HIE hotels have very recently added usb ports to the bedside - this would be very welcome here too, as would more electrical sockets. Overall though I had a good stay and will be coming back again before long. [Less]
