Featured Leicester Hotels

We have two Leicester hotels: one in the city centre and another close to the King Power football stadium. The King Power stadium is home to Leicester City football club and if you're around on a match day, you might choose to buy a ticket and take advantage of the great atmosphere offered. If football's not your thing, however, you might prefer a visit to Welford Road Stadium where you can enjoy a game of rugby instead.

But there's more to Leicester than sport. There are more than half a dozen museums and art galleries, including Newarke Houses, Abbey Pumping Station and Jewry Wall and Archaeology Museum.

Leicester is also home to some beautiful landmarks. Ashby Castle and Belvoir Castle are impressive structures and well worth a visit and a walk around the grounds of both.

Shoppers are catered for in Leicester as well. Close to our most central Leicester hotel, you'll find the Highcross Shopping Centre. Even the keenest shopper might struggle to make it round the hundred plus shops. But if you need a break, the centre also has a number of bars and eateries and even a cinema if you can fit in a film.

It's not difficult to get to Leicester. It's easily accessible from the M1 motorway and the train station has direct services running to a number of UK towns and cities including London, Nottingham, Birmingham, Derby and Sheffield.

So take some time in Leicester and let us help you make the most of it. Book a stay in the city centre or slightly out of town at one of our two Leicester hotels.

Could do better with a little care

This was our second stay at the Holiday Inn Express at Pride Park. We knew what to expect from the previous stay. The check-in was quick and simple as every thing were prepaid as IHG member. On this [More] occasion, we were given a second floor room. Opening the door, I could immediately smell damp in the room. The room itself was made up properly. Initially, I though it was because the coldness in the room but after turned on the heating, this smell still lingered. I had noticed this room was one of those recently refurbished with new taps and shower screen door. I had to convince the wife that there was an actual damp smell in the room and she eventually agreed with me on this. I suggested we ask for a change of room but as we were only stay for the night, we'll try to open the window instead. The room was facing the front of the building so it was reasonable safe to do so. We went out to see our friends that evening and upon return, the smell has disappeared. However, the next problem appeared - the calibration on the thermostatic shower mixer was totally incorrect. When the reading stated 50 degree, the water temperature was just about lurk warm and it took a few minute playing around with the water control to bring water reasonable to have a decent hot shower. The heating in the room was just as bad; albeit the dial stated 25 degree the room temperature never reach anywhere near that. It was pumping cold air during the night!! The hotel management really need to get a grip and go through the snagging process after refurbishment to get these little important things right. In the morning, we sat one from the table on our last visit in the corner. I am glad they have resolved the air conditioning problem. Overall, I still recommend it for anyone visit Derby. [Less]
Hidden gem within Pride Park
By Lilacalicat
I wanted to be near the rail consultancy I was visiting and also Bar Seven. The Holiday Inn Express fitted the bill perfectly. Good price, inclusive of breakfast and free wifi which allowed me to [More] work from the hotel lounge until the next meeting the following day. Hotel staff were really friendly and helpful and the secure car park was a relief on such a busy business park as pride park. I would stay here again when I'm back up in Derby [Less]
