Originally completed in 1683, the Ashmolean Museum is the oldest museum housed by a university, and its vast collection of intriguing art and antiquities remains open to this day. Plant lovers won’t want to miss the Oxford Botanic Garden, which was founded in the 17th century and features extremely diverse flora despite its compact size. Although it is primarily used for University events, the exquisite Sheldonian Theatre designed by Christopher Wren is always open to visitors. Punting on the Thames and Cherwell Rivers is
also a popular pastime on sunny days.

Excellent venue
By Vikingcraig
Very impressive setting in a great location. We upgraded to a senior Suite which was really nice, but maybe not quite as impressive as we were hoping, but by no means disappointing. The leisure [More] complex is a long way away and would of been easier to of driven too, so after 10 mins of walking to find we gave up and went to the bar. Unfortunately no Stella but you cant have everything. Restaurant Menu for dinner was very limited and a little disappointing, some specials would of helped but none available. Overall we really enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend. Will defiantly be back. [Less]
Gorgeous Hotel and Grounds
By Superfly-64
Having visited this hotel many times through my day job I decided it would be a lovely surprise for my partners birthday. We were not disappointed. The staff were very welcoming and attentive (I [More] asked them to deliver some helium balloons and ice/drinks to the room and they happily obliged). We were given a free upgrade also and the room was fantastic, very modern and the décor was lovely. We decided to eat at the restaurant too. The food was great however the staff placed us at a table right in the middle of the room which seemed uncomfortable. They did eventually move us to a nicer table. My only complaint was the slow service in the restaurant. It took 15 mins to even order a drink. Apart from that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds and views are lovely and its a perfect stay for a quiet romantic evening. [Less]
