Buisness Visit
By KeithPJ
The hotel was of a very good standard. The quality of the restaurant food was very high. The only comment that I would make was that the service was a little slow. When dining on your own there is no [More] need for long gaps between courses [Less]
Another great stay
By Megabyte
I stayed at the hotel for three nights in mid November. The stay was as good as previous stays. I was welcomed as a special guest, with all the staff greeting me as I passed them in the morning or in [More] the day. It makes a great base, easy to get to away from the bustle of the A45 but close enough to it for travel. The hotel was clean and welcoming. and the atmosphere was very good. I was able to book for several more visits. [Less]
PR Kenilworth stay
By PRoberts
Met expectations except for broadband service. Internet facilities have recently changed for the worse Holiday inn should not undervalue requirements of broadband access but if they're determined to [More] charge for the facility it will ultimately push customers to hotels that provide a better service. Well maintained inside but a little tired looking outside. Excellent and attentive staff and great food. Shame air con rattled like mad an mould patch on wall by window. Bathroom in need of work. A [More] bit tired. [Less]
Lovely well located hotel
By Piglet31
I stayed in a twin room with my mum for a Christmas shopping weekend. The hotel was ideal with loads of parking, lovely reception and public areas which had been beautifully decorated for [More] Christmas. On the edge of the town centre close by the shops, a few nice pubs for lunch and a bottle of wine to aid shopping! We ate out both nights at local restaurants which were also of a good standard. But his leads me to one thing that could be improved upon, we ate at the Marina cafe which is right next to the hotel, the exit from hotel on the side of the Marina is pitch black at night which made it rather hazardous to walk. I tripped over something, no idea what, as it was so dark. That hotel exit would benefit from a few lights at the other side of the hedge to light the path. [Less]
Close to Stratfords history
Able to walk into town and see all Stratford's history. A very comfortable hotel with pleasant staff. Food excellent. I Found the hotel too warm for myself personally and unable to open window [More] (screwed down) for fresh air at night. [Less]
breakfast menu
By Beech27
The breakfast menu was very boring. Staff not prepared to alter menu for personal request eg. fried eggs instead of the scrambled eggs. Same sausages every day. [Less]
Convenient Location, Great Staff
By Danny_S
I typically stay here a couple of times a month, and the experience is really lifted by the staff who are consistently cheery, helpful and friendly. This hotel is great for heading into the city for [More] the evening, although for Broad Street you may have to walk a bit. Ideal if you're working in or around Colmore Square, or for travel to Snow Hill Station. Rooms are always clean and spacious, TV channel choice good and the gym (free) is handy and sufficient for short stops. Bar is okay with a reasonable choice of drinks, for me I'd prefer to see more choices for a cooked breakfast, but there is plenty of toast, cereal, etc for the "non-cooked" option. Overall a good hotel that makes up for having to work away from home. [Less]
Great service & great view
By Ken&Claire
The check-in was fantastic. I think it was Danielle who checked us in. She was welcoming, friendly, helpful and had a lovely smile. She showed us the evening menu, then when decided we'd go out to [More] eat as there was very little choice for gluten-free options, she gave us a map. But she drew on the map where was best to go. Room had a view over Birmingham & we watched the fireworks - a bit surreal without the sound! B'fast was ok & there was gluten-free bread, but found the choice of other foods a bit limited. Suggest that smaller amounts of scrambled egg are cooked & brought out more frequently or that it's cooked to order as it doesn't 'sit' well on the hot plate. Overall, a good hotel for 1 night.
