With the city center and train station within walking distance, as well as close access to London Heathrow Airport and the Thames Valley business parks, our Reading hotels are sure to meet your needs, no matter what your reason for heading our way.
Nestled in England’s scenic Thames Valley at the juncture of two rivers, Reading is a lively town with close proximity to Oxford and London. A flourishing hamlet from medieval times on, the town saw increased growth after the advent of the Great Western Railway and the founding of the prestigious University of Reading in 1892.
Reading’s town center is dominated by the picturesque ruins of Reading Abbey, a monastery founded by Henry I that thrived throughout the medieval era. Existing side-by-side with its charming town hall and city center is a more modern reputation for arts festivals. Music fans flock to the Reading Music Festival every year, and the town also plays host to a very popular – and hoppy – beer festival.
The shopping in Reading is nothing to sniff at, either, so come prepared to experience one of the U.K.’s top retail destinations. With quirky little shops to suit all tastes and large, attractive shopping centers such as The Oracle and Broad Street Mall at your disposal, the perfect souvenir is just around the corner.
Blow off some steam at a Reading Football Club match – the local soccer team is sure to bring out enthusiastic crowds.
As a major hub for the British train system, Reading Station has connections
to many other British cities, including London’s Paddington and Waterloo stations.
Find your way to one of our Reading hotels, and you’ll see why we have a reputation for fantastic service and top-notch convenience. Our wide range of budget-friendly options means that you can enjoy all the amenities you expect, at a price you can afford.

Comfortable hotel good service
By Red wine twins
Clean hotel good situation for the Airport. Clean comfortable rooms good shower facilities. Food and service good. Very relaxing before a long haul flight. All staff very friendly and helpful went [More] out of their way to help including letting us sample the wine to decide which one to have. Suggest if you have to leave hotel before 6am don't include breakfast as restaurant not open . I would recommend this hotel as pre flight stay but for holiday it is on a very busy road, although this did not effect our night sleep. [Less]
Bathroom limitations
By Ron fair
We stay here as it has rooms with on suites which are 'wet rooms' so you can get into the shower with a shower chair which we bring our own. The shower controls have little grip and the icons can [More] only be read with glasses on before you use the shower. The wash bowl mirror is too far away in a sunken wall and so is useless to use for detail self examination. For some reason the bowl cannot be filled with water and running water has to be used. This is by design to prevent floods ? Other wise the bathroom is OK but fails any disabled access design other that the WC basin. It just happens to have a wet-room floor which is essential to some disabled people, The only one we can find in Berkshire. [Less]
Good hotel for the business traveller
By LT83
I usually stay here on business and makes being away from home on my own a pleasant experience [Less]
The food makes up for the location.
I actually stayed at this HI the very first night it opened, but change in Corporate Policy at work and it had not appeared for some time. The location is awful, but don't worry about that, just [More] dine in the restaurant as Chef Graham is simply fantastic. I went for the a la carte menu, pigeon followed by venison and it was sublime. The first bottle of red that was opened to breathe was corked, and there was no fuss about changing the bottle, and the front of house team in the restaurant were attentive but not intrusive, professional and friendly - what more could you ask for.
