Things to See

Anaheim is most famous for housing the original Disneyland, which opened in 1955, as well as California Adventure—a Disneyland addition that opened about 15 years ago. However, there are many other interesting activities in Anaheim to pique your interest outside of those created by Disney and other big names. Catch some Anaheim Ducks hockey (their training facility is open for public skating sessions daily!) or a LA Angels baseball game to get your sports fix, or visit Anaheim Garden Walk for shopping, movies, bowling, and dining. Anaheim’s historic district has been recently renovated to now include the Packing House, unique restaurants, shops, and a farmer’s market. To get out of the city a bit, check out the neighboring cities of Los Angeles, Palm Springs, and San Diego by train or car, or Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, boasting roller coasters and a waterpark.

Hotels in Anaheim

Whether you’re staying in directly in Anaheim or neighboring cities like Fullerton, Garden Grove, or Buena Park, IHG has cozy hotels to keep you close to your main destinations. Our hotels offer convenient amenities for your vacation, from free Wi-Fi to fully-equipped kitchens.

Where to Stay

Staying in the Anaheim Resort District keeps you close to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure as well as the Anaheim Convention Center. This area also keeps you in short driving distance from Newport, Huntington, and Laguna Beaches as well as Universal Studios Hollywood, SeaWorld, LEGOLAND, San Diego Zoo, and Six Flags Magic Mountain. For business trips, you may consider staying in the aforementioned cities surrounding Anaheim to avoid resort crowds.

How to Get to Anaheim

If flying to Anaheim, you’ll arrive at either John Wayne Airport at Santa Ana (SNA), Long Beach Airport (LGB), or the larger Los Angeles International Airport (LAX). If you don’t opt for taking a shuttle or train to your destination from the airport, travelling by car from the airport to your hotel can take between 20 minutes and an hour. Once you’re in the city, Anaheim Resort Transportation can bring you to many popular tourist destinations via shuttle, while Orange County Transit Authority offers bus service within the city and surrounding areas. Anaheim is known as a very safe place regularly patrolled by police.

Decent Value

My experience with the Holiday Inn Express chain has always been good. The stay at San Dimas, CA was no different. Since the property was near my meeting, I had no apprehension in choosing this hotel [More] for my stay. [Less]

Comfortable room and excellent service

I always stay in this Holiday Inn location whenever I am heading to Southern California. The facility is clean, service is excellent and the location is great. I'm glad that I don't plan to watch a [More] lot of TV because the cable signal is too weak, so the TV doesn't work AT ALL. But that's OK. I have never gone to Southern California to watch TV. [Less]
Familiar but better

I stayed at this hotel prior to it becoming a Holiday Inn. It was under construction then. Now that it has been remodeled it is very nice. We used to stay at the Marriot down the road until they [More] remodeled and removed the restaurant, which made it a lot less family friendly. I really enjoy my morning coffee, along with sitting outside on the patio. We stayed 3 days this time and the room was very nice. I read previous reviews by people and really found most of them to be silly with some of the complaints. The only one I really agreed with was about the size of the bathroom. Yes it is a little compact, but more than adequate. However I know men spend a lot less time in there than women. The restaurant was very nice and served a really nice breakfast. A buffet is available for breakfast, which my wife and daughter enjoyed.. My one disappointment with the restaurant was it only served Chinese food for lunch. However just a couple hundred yards west is a very nice Marie Calendars . I had a very nice lunch there. Overall my stay was very nice and would stay there again. [Less]

great breakfast and customer service

I purchased two rooms for a six night stay. When we arrived, there was a great scent in the entry way. They offered us water and a friendly welcome. The location was great for the conference I was [More] attending and the three days of leisure time that I had planned to attend throughout California. Distance was great for all locations that I would be visiting during the six days. [Less]
GREAT staff, extremely attentive and kind
By PasadenaVisitor
I brought my family with me. We were upgraded to a larger room for free because the room I requested was unavailable. That worked out perfectly. My kids absolutely loved the pool, spa, breakfast (ate [More] to their heart's content), and watched plenty of tv. I'd definitely stay at this location or at another Holiday Inn Express in the future. We had issues with the air conditioner (too cold then not cold enough) but I didn't make a stink about it because it wasn't anything to whine about. There was a dog barking in the wee hours of the morning; it wasn't on hotel property so I didn't expect them to do much. There was a nightlight in the room that was insanely annoying. It could be seen throughout the whole suite. The brightness of the light made it very difficult to sleep. We ended up covering it up with a structure we created out of boxes and pillows. After that the room was nice and dark. Having an option to turn off the nightlight would be nice. [Less]
