Featured San Diego Hotels

San Diego, with 70 miles of coastline, moderate year-round climate, pristine parks, zoos, craft breweries, a bustling nightlife and much more, is a popular and fantastic pick for a sunny California beachfront vacation. IHG invites you to stay at all of our San Diego hotels, where you’ll always find yourself in a great place to enjoy the city.
Things to See
Many visitors come to San Diego to enjoy dozens of soft, sandy beaches, some of which are famously flanked by colorful reefs, charming tide pools and rugged cliffs. The flat landscape of Coronado Beach offers a romantic setting, while La Jolla Beach gives families options for picnics, spending hours in its grassy park or taking scuba classes, and Silver Strand is great for camping next to the coastline. Join or watch surfing in Tourmaline Surfing Park or Solana Beach, see the annual U.S. Open Sandcastle Competition each summer at Imperial Beach, and The Strand, or Pacific Beach, gives large crowds two miles of leisure, shopping, restaurants or simple relaxation.
If you prefer heading inland, there is an abundance of attractions including Legoland California, Balboa Park, SeaWorld, the Living Coast Discovery Center, Birch Aquarium, the San Diego Zoo and the zoo's Safari Park. Also visit San Diego's museums, which are as diverse as its visitors. Young visitors can check out the New Children's Museum, Children's Discovery Museum or the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, all of which offer hands-on experiences. Also don’t miss the San Diego Model Railroad Museum, which features the largest
model railroad display in the world, spanning 27,000 square feet.
Hotels in San Diego
You'll want to book hotels well in advance if you're visiting during peak summer season. Lower hotel rates are found from March through May, and September through November. Many San Diego family hotels offer recreational amenities such as outdoor heated pools, which guests usually find more comfortable than unheated pools since the average summer temperature is only 76 degrees. Boost your value even further by looking for weekly rate hotels in San Diego, or hotels with complimentary breakfasts and nightly manager's receptions.
Where to Stay
San Diego has many distinct districts. Coronado's sparkling sand and beckoning beaches make it a popular pick for romantic retreats. The Gaslamp Quarter comes alive at night with an array of popular clubs and restaurants. While these 16 blocks are well-known for rooftop bars and chic nightclubs, they're also family friendly during the day, putting you near the New Children's Museum and San Diego Zoo. Mission Valley and Old Town offer an historic feel while keeping you just minutes from the city's big-name attractions. If you're interested in outdoor activities, East County will call to you with hiking, biking, and climbing opportunities in Anza Borrego State Park.
How to Get to San Diego
San Diego International Airport is centrally located and serviced by most major airlines. The San Diego Trolley provides convenient transportation around the city with three trolley lines and 53 stations. The North County Transit District's Coaster trains offer service to nearby beach communities from downtown San Diego and Old Town. If you're travelling further, the 22-mile SPRINTER rail system connects San Diego to Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, and San Marcos. Book hotels throughout the city with InterContinental Hotels Group, find the perfect room for your vacation and begin planning your visit.

It is like visiting family
By Betty51739
Whenever we come to the La Jolla HI we feel at home. We have stayed there at least 7 times and are looking forward to our next visit in 2016. The staff is most friendly and try to accomodate us as [More] much as possible. It would be nice for the addition to be completed by the time we go back, but if it isn't we will still feel comfortable. [Less]
AMAZING location and friendly staff
By dobbyandariel
We went on a 2 week road trip, and this hotel was the best experience we had on the whole trip! From the second we arrived, the staff was fantastic. There was an error in my booking of the room, so [More] they upgraded us to an amazing suite/larger room. I would definitely recommend staying at this hotel if you want to walk to the beach and enjoy being near great restaurants in La Jolla. [Less]
Great staff. Construction mess no parking
By watsonii
Staff are by far the friendliest and consistently so.Pool and hot tub were dirty. Room is in serious need of an update and, thus, the price was not appropriate for the condition of the room. Parking [More] was tough. Had to park a few blocks away the majority of my stay. Construction is a mess so it would be fair to say that post-construction condition might prove to be an improvement. Will be returning to La Jolla in January but will not be returning to the property if construction is not completed. I would definitely return if complete, however as we (my family and I) truly enjoyed the staff and some of the other guests. I am with hope that the room we stayed in will be refurbished once the main building's construction is completed. If you are staying for one or two nights, the hotel is adequate. Again, GREAT staff. I couldn't say enough about them. Kudos to the management for hiring and keeping them happy as they were the highlight of our stay. [Less]
Good Hotel

Nice clean property, friendly staff, comfortable beds, internet better than most [Less]
Good spot to rest
By John in SoCal
I had a race starting at 5:00am in Imperial Beach/Coronado, and needed a place to get a few hours sleep. This hotel was great for that; so I'm not sure how the pool, fitness center, and breakfast [More] where, but they were probably just fine. The Holiday Inn Express is a good, clean, decent, well maintained place to crash at least for me, and I recommend it The one thing - and it's not really their issue - the hotel A/C units turn on and off all night. It would be MUCH MUCH better if the fan would just stay on all night. The constant on/off wakes you up a little. All of these units seem to work this way, it's frustrating. [Less]
Great Stay
By HammondM
I stayed for two weeks for business and leisure. My room became home quickly. Great customer service. Great breakfast choice. Rooms always clean well. I felt safe and secure. I would highly recommend. [Less]
Quiet, clean and comfortable
By Ruretse
I booked this Bayside Holiday Inn for its reasonable price and close proximity to the expensive hotel where the conference I was attending was held. Though the only choice I had to reach the [More] conference was hiring a cab or walking 40 minutes, I had the satisfaction of paying much less for a quiet, clean and comfortable room. The hotel was also located near a Starbucks and two good restaurants. [Less]
Comfortable bed and great dining
By 5Grandma
We went for a quick sweet at the restaurant. My husband wanted a sundae, not on the menu. The waiter assured him it wouldn't be a problem and he served him with a beautiful sundae. We slept well with [More] the great mattress. We were surprised to have to pay for parking, but appreciated the ticket for easy in and out. [Less]
Clean comfortable and quiet
By SharkLady
Staff was professional, helpful and friendly. Hotel was spotless and clean, with tropical decor. The main building looks like the bow of a ship...very cool as hotel was near the harbor. Will [More] definitely stay here again. [Less]
