Featured Chicago Hotels

Chicago is a land of rich culture, unique architecture, delicious food, famous winds and more. The city—America’s third largest—is home to more than 2.7 million people, which rises to 10 million when you include residents of the greater Chicago area. It is a great sports town, where the Bears shuffled up a Super Bowl victory, Michael Jordan once ruled the NBA, and the Cubs and White Sox still swing for the fences. With dozens of Chicago hotels to choose from, IHG has the perfect room for your visit to this major Midwestern city. Plan your trip to Chicago with additional tips from the IHG Travel Blog, starting with our
Essential Travel Guide to Chicago.

Things to See

One of Chicago’s foremost attractions is 360 Chicago (formerly John Hancock Observatory). Located on the 94th floor of John Hancock Center, it offers 360-degree views from a 17,000-square-foot observation deck, and visibility of up to 50 miles—a range that includes Chicago’s skyline, four nearby states and Lake Michigan. You can also dine and shop, or test your mettle at Tilt, a glass-enclosed platform that extends outward from the building at a 30-degree angle as you lean against it. Lincoln Zoo, which offers all guests free admission year-round, has hundreds of mammals, birds, reptiles and amphibians for your family to meet. You can explore the city’s rich and fascinating past at Chicago History Museum, admire the abstract at Museum of Contemporary Art, and take a boating tour of waterside wonders at Navy Pier, which also features mini-golf and a 150-foot Ferris wheel. You’ll find great live music at Green Mill, amazing urban architecture at Millennium Park, and a whole universe to discover at Adler Planetarium.

Hotels in Chicago

Chicago hotels offer a variety of ways to make your visit as comfortable and convenient to your needs as possible, whether you’re traveling solo for business or seeking a relaxing vacation with loved ones.

Where to Stay

Book a room on Magnificent Mile, a bustling section of Michigan Avenue with upscale shopping and entertainment, if you want to be in the heart of Chicago's action. The scenic and walkable area that includes Gold Coast and Old Town has a thriving nightlife, while Lincoln Park and Wrigleyville have fantastic nearby attractions for fun-seeking families.

How to Get to Chicago

O'Hare International Airport is one of the world’s busiest airports and has a variety of ground transportation options. Midway International Airport handles mostly domestic flights and is unlikely to be as crowded as O'Hare, and other choices include Gary/Chicago International Airport and Chicago Rockford International Airport. Several Chicago hotels have shuttle service, however it’s a good idea to investigate public transportation options in the event it is not offered by your hotel.

Customer focused staff and comfy room
By ck1999
The staff is very focused on delighting the customer. Enjoyed the room - comfy and clean. Like having the fridge and microwave. The Open Hour for enjoying food and drinks, along with the great [More] breakfast are a real plus. [Less]
Don Richards
By don297
I compelmented Tom and Kenny earlier. The lady that runs the breakfast area is awesome. Being i stay a lot at IHG properties. This lady should be a trainer. She does it right, she does it good and is [More] the most friendly person you can meet. [Less]
Close to business and shopping

Convenience of shopping center and business location was a key to this stay [Less]
Excelent place to stay
By Sue190
Just a 3 block walk to and from the Amtrack Train Station is this Holiday Inn. Staff were great. Room was really clean and beds were very comfortable. Food and drinks were very good also. [More] Everyone was friendly. Will definitely stay here again. [Less]
Great Service, Minor problems
By RMVP
This is the second time my wife and I stay at the Holiday Inn & Suites in Downtown Chicago. We love there because it is very convenient for all we do. It is within walking distance of everything. The [More] one problem we had was that our keys to the room kept demagnetizing. It was because it was close to both of our cell phones. Just wish they would have let me know that after the first time it happened. Once we kept the key from the cell phone everything was GREAT!!! [Less]
Great Stay!
By RESUB
My wife and I stayed for one night and we were not disappointed! From the staff to the room, everything was great! And, if you don't mind walking and saving on cab fare and parking, it is only a [More] short walk to everything! [Less]

Just what you need
By Garbo68
First off, the rooms are incredibly small. Do not plan to hang out and relax in your room. But, that's probably not why you're in Chicago. Go out and see the sights, and use your room for sleeping. [More] Everything else about this hotel was great. The location couldn't be beat (walking distance to everything downtown and a 5 minute walk to the subway). The free breakfast was the standard Holiday Inn Express fare, but it was nice to not have to buy anything. The beds were comfy, and, while there is no view, the adjacent building blocks out any light that might wake you up in the morning. [Less]
Good value and great location
By LazySteward
Very clean hotel with very accommodating staff. There was no refrigerator in our room but a simple call to the front desk provided that service at my request. No additional charges or problems. This [More] is an older hotel with a lot of history, so if the rooms are a little small, don't make a big deal out of it. I wouldn't expect many people to be staying in their rooms for long regardless as the location is perfect for walking to many attractions and local favorites. Plan accordingly for parking as it will run about $94 for a two night stay. Current trends for Wi-fi and television if you need those during your stay. We didn't use it, but bellhop service is available and the front desk staff was very knowledgeable about local places to eat, have a drink and catch some entertainment. If we find ourselves in Chicago again (which I am sure we will be) we will be staying here. [Less]
