English Travellers

Room small, but to be expected for a New York hotel and very busy. Could occasionally be noisy. Fridge in the room would have been useful. What made up for anything lacking was the care given by [More] the staff, in particular Maria on the front desk, Dianna in the breakfast room and Patrick on the hotel shuttle. All three went above and beyond in care given to the guests. [Less]

Great NYC hotel find!!
By dabblespace
- very helpful and courteous staff, prior to and during stay - VERY Cool overall vibe and atmosphere. Strong emphasis on sustainability and healthy lifestyle. - excellent location, close to: Penn [More] station, Madison Square gardens, subway. Walking distance to many attractions, etc. - beautifully designed and finished room, very spacious, cool décor - excellent hang-out areas (table tennis) and food lounge, great (healthy and delicious) food selections - right across the street from very secure private parking facility (extra charge) - excellent workout facilities - incredible value One of the nicest boutique hotels I've stayed at. Great Hotel

Really love the Even concept. Clean, new hotels with an attention to fitness and well being. Love the in-room workout equipment and videos - did a quick workout before bed and slept well. Also [More] loved the workout facility on property. Good value for the money. Great bed and bedding. I travel a ton for business and would recommend Even highly. Give it a shot! [Less]
Rambi

All around good stay with Reception Staff and Bar and Restaurant all being excellent. Only downfall was hairdryer in room did not work and reception failed to replace after numerous request. Spouse [More] was stressed because of this as we were about to board the Queen Mary 2 for England with wet hair. Anyway, all ok in the end, I guess. Might look at other choices next time. Brooklyn
By andreat716
Right in the heart of Brooklyn. You are in walking distance to great food, night life, and the subway. It is a little pricey but I guess that's what you get for staying in the city. It was hard to [More] get in line for parking. The only parking option you have is the valet at $35 for the night. It also takes a long time to get your car back from the valet. [Less]
Clean, Affortable NYC Hotel
By CharmCityMom
I was pleasantly surprised at the clean elegance of the Holiday Inn at 300 Schermerhorn. The crisp white sheets were very inviting after hours of travel. The bathroom was spotless. The rooms are [More] not spacious and border on cramped for a family of 4, but they are just big enough for rest and preparing for the day. Besides, life should be spent out enjoying the city when visiting NYC, anyway, and not wasted in a hotel room! That said, our stay was in the middle of July when temps outside were above 90 and humidity was insufferable. So we did very much enjoy the highly efficient a/c unit as we could get our room down to frigid temps and cool off before facing sweltering afternoon sun. Finally, the location is convenient to shops and restaurants along Atlantic Ave as well as to subway stops that took us into desired spots in Manhattan (Broadway, etc.) The price, given that it is NYC, was reasonable and we would stay here again.
