Featured Houston Hotels

As the fourth largest city in the U.S., Houston attracts nearly 15 million travelers from all over the world each year. The warm, sunny climate is great for spring and fall outdoor activities, intriguing museums, captivating performing arts, and a thriving culinary scene. This Texas destination caters to tourists of many interests, but whatever your tastes, IHG® has Houston hotels that will help you get the most out of your visit.

Things to See

Known as Space City for its longstanding support of America's astronautic adventures, Houston is home to several destinations essential for outer space lovers. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center serves as the training ground of America's elite astronauts, while the Space Center Houston features a restored replica of the Explorer space shuttle and hands-on lessons on what life is like on a real space mission. Houston features many professional opera companies, as well as symphony, theater, and ballet organizations, and the city’s Museum District ranks among the top in America. This area features 20 museums, all within easy walking distance of each other, including the Children's Museum of Houston, the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, or MFAH: the largest art museum in America's southwest. If you want to reconnect with nature, Houston has over 56,000 acres of park space -- more than any other city in America -- with bike paths and hiking trails to aid tourists in making the most of Houston's natural beauty.

Where to Stay

Houston's downtown area is a popular choice for travelers, as it has a wide variety of hotels within close proximity to restaurants, shopping malls, sporting venues, and cultural hotspots. The uptown Galleria area appeals to travelers seeking luxury hotels, gourmet dining and high-end shopping. The pedestrian-friendly Museum District is a great option for visitors who wish to see many of Houston’s cultural institutions during their stay, while the Hobby Airport/Third Ward neighborhood’s South Houston hotels are conveniently close to one of Houston's airports and some of its most unique restaurants.

How to Get to Houston

The Houston Airport System is made up of two airports: Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. Houston also has an often-used Amtrak station. Conveniently, both the Sunset Limited train (running between New Orleans to Los Angeles) and the Texas Eagle (running between Chicago to San Antonio) stop here. Houston's METRORail and METRO buses make transportation easy, giving travelers more freedom to choose where they stay. Local taxis have a flat rate of $6 for downtown travel, which lowers the need to navigate the area in a rental car.

Comfortable bed and friendly staff
By superdave2434
The hotel was very clean. First impressions are lasting impressions. The front desk handled us expeditiously, professionally, and were very courteous. The room smelled good and the bathroom was super [More] clean. Our bed was so comfortable my wife wanted to stay in bed til the afternoon.....but we couldn't lol.I was helping with the bad floods in Houston. The walls were thick enough where we couldn't hear our neighbors. [Less]
Outstanding Hospitality
By WV Wayne
Hotel staff went out of their way to recognize me as a Club member and demonstrate their hospitality through a customer event sponsored by the staff with extraordinary effort and conversation I [More] rarely see in other hotels. [Less]
great service
By professer Joe
Hotel was short staffed because of city wide flooding. The ones who could make it to work tried extra hard so that the guests would not be inconvenienced in any way if possible. Move business meeting [More] to hotel and the staff took great care of us. [Less]
Staybridge

My stay was short, overnight, but everything was clean and the staff were very friendly and helpful. [Less]
Very nicely appointed suites
By Jimmy_79
I found my stay at the Staybridge Suites Stafford, TX to be quite good. The staff were very courteous and the amenities of the facility were great. My only complaint would be the quality of sleep [More] using down filled pillows, as I was a fan of either type of pillows available in the room. But even with this, I still had a great stay. [Less]

The room was comfortable and the staff was friendly. Centrally located in the NASA, Bay Area. I have stayed in this Holiday Inn Hotel on several occasions, and have been happy every time. [Less]

The overall experience was fine, the rooms are clean a comfortable and the staff very attentive. One small irritation: I like to have a drink of soda in my room in the evening. This hotel maintains a [More] running but completely empty Coke machine on every single floor, and I don't understand this practice. It is inconvenient to take the elevator up and down to 5 different floors and then still have to go down to the front desk (where there is less selection than would have been in the machines) to buy a Coke. I also prefer a casual, open continental breakfast arrangement in the morning to one where I have to be seated in the restaurant. I never visited the restaurant during my 4-day stay, if there had been an open continental breakfast I would have used it. [Less]
