Featured Houston Hotels

As the fourth largest city in the U.S., Houston attracts nearly 15 million travelers from all over the world each year. The warm, sunny climate is great for spring and fall outdoor activities, intriguing museums, captivating performing arts, and a thriving culinary scene. This Texas destination caters to tourists of many interests, but whatever your tastes, IHG® has Houston hotels that will help you get the most out of your visit.

Things to See

Known as Space City for its longstanding support of America's astronautic adventures, Houston is home to several destinations essential for outer space lovers. The Lyndon B. Johnson Space Center serves as the training ground of America's elite astronauts, while the Space Center Houston features a restored replica of the Explorer space shuttle and hands-on lessons on what life is like on a real space mission. Houston features many professional opera companies, as well as symphony, theater, and ballet organizations, and the city’s Museum District ranks among the top in America. This area features 20 museums, all within easy walking distance of each other, including the Children's Museum of Houston, the John P. McGovern Museum of Health and Medical Science, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, or MFAH: the largest art museum in America's southwest. If you want to reconnect with nature, Houston has over 56,000 acres of park space -- more than any other city in America -- with bike paths and hiking trails to aid tourists in making the most of Houston's natural beauty.

Hotels in Houston

There are approximately 75,000 hotel rooms in Houston, catering to all tastes and budgets from opulent five-star establishments to eccentric hostels. With this many options it’s fairly easy to find a location close to the activities you’ve planned for your trip.

Where to Stay

Houston's downtown area is a popular choice for travelers, as it has a wide variety of hotels within close proximity to restaurants, shopping malls, sporting venues, and cultural hotspots. The uptown Galleria area appeals to travelers seeking luxury hotels, gourmet dining and high-end shopping. The pedestrian-friendly Museum District is a great option for visitors who wish to see many of Houston’s cultural institutions during their stay, while the Hobby Airport/Third Ward neighborhood’s South Houston hotels are conveniently close to one of Houston's airports and some of its most unique restaurants.

How to Get to Houston

The Houston Airport System is made up of two airports: Bush Intercontinental Airport and Hobby Airport. Houston also has an often-used Amtrak station. Conveniently, both the Sunset Limited train (running between New Orleans to Los Angeles) and the Texas Eagle (running between Chicago to San Antonio) stop here. Houston's METRORail and METRO buses make transportation easy, giving travelers more freedom to choose where they stay. Local taxis have a flat rate of $6 for downtown travel, which lowers the need to navigate the area in a rental car.

I love this Holiday Inn Express, the staff was really nice and helpful, and I honestly felt comfortable the entire time. Breakfast was delicious, my daughter and her friend loved the shaded pool, [More] the suite was huge and very comfy. Great hotel!! [Less]
Good Value for Downtown Lodging
By msokc
Newly remodeled hotel. Clean and had average amenities. Bathroom in standard king room was a little small. Not much counter space and no place to hang hand towels. Sink fixture was too big and [More] tall for the sink and had too much pressure. Hard to operate without splashing water on yourself or the floor. Good towels. Lift mechanism on desk chair was broken and chair sat too low. King bed and pillows were very good. Despite the notes above, the staff was good and the value for overnight and parking was good for downtown Houston. [Less]

quiet room - excellent location
By tb3433
Everything was great. We had a gentleman approach us for money in the parking lot but the Houston downtown area has a general problem with homeless and begging, so this wasn't necessarily the [More] hotel's fault. [Less]
really good value place in central houston
By mvanderh1
Because I had to use my IHG points, I chose this Holiday Inn Express in Houston. It did everything that was expected ftrom a HI Express. It had a great bed, a big room, a clean, well appointed [More] bathroom, a superb coffee maker etc. All you would expect. What made the stay even better was the indoor pool with jacuzzi, which was great to relax. Gym looked good as well (not used). Also, the hotel has got a large parking area where your car can be parked for free. And this is central Houston! The front staff was nice, the cleaners cheerful. There is also an area where you can print out your boarding passes. We could not eat the included breakfast, because my wife has to eat Gluten Free. This was not provided for at all, which is a real shame. [Less]
