I had the pleasure of having to stay at the hotel for 3 nights and my stay was very pleasant, quiet and relaxing. First of all I found the Bathroom to be very clean which is a #1 Priority for me,
followed by bed comfort and hereto the bed was very comfortable, in fact perhaps to comfortable as I slept in one morning until 9:30 and I have not done that in quite a few years. Thirdly the overall room cleanliness was excellent so staying here certainly hit all 3 of my basic expectations for a hotel.
The staff was very attentive to my needs and in fact went above and beyond in one case. The desk chair in my room was broken so when sitting in it, the chair had quite a lean to it making it very uncomfortable to work. I asked for a replacement chair and the maintenance staff went to one of the other rooms to get me a replacement chair. The one he returned with was quite fine, however after about 15 minutes maintenance again returned with a nice high back office chair with the staff member mentioning that as I was working from my room that day, they thought I should have a very comfortable chair to work from. So "Great" job and thanks for the consideration.
I also hung the privacy notice on the room door and it was absolutely adhered to. I don't need someone to make my bed and I certainly do not need clean towels everyday as I make my own bed at home and for sure use my shower towel more than once so I simply do not need room service during my stays! I still think hotels should make room service optional at time of check-in!
The food in Johnny's restaurant was absolutely delicious and service hereto was top notch, so I would recommend to anyone staying at the hotel to check out Johnny's before going wandering into town looking for a place to eat!
In driving around Eau Claire I noticed that there are probably several other good hotels in the area, but when I return I know where I am going to stay, Holiday Inn Express of course.
So all in all if you are looking for a clean, quiet and comfortable place to stay in your travels I certainly recommend the Holiday Inn Express in Eau Claire, Wisconsin if you are ever in that neighborhood! [Less]
