Subdued Subtle and Heavenly....
Stayed here for two nights after being in another resort for 7 days..
I must say that this was one of the best hotels/resorts that I have ever stayed in.
The hotel's outside appearance was
very subtle. The lobby was simple but expansive and very welcoming.
I missed the Ambassador Check-In Desk right in front of the main door but the agent in the general check in desk was very friendly and acknowledged my elite membership. Everything was ready for me at the Ambassador desk so the Chief Concierge/General Service Manager, Adolfo came and introduced himself and welcomed me warmly. He said that they have upgraded me to the tower room with the most amazing view of the Caribbean Sea. He also told me all about the property such as dining options, facilities, etc.. He ask what was the purpose of my trip and told him that we just celebrated my nephew's wedding in another resort and just now would like to recuperate from the crazy week behind and just want to be in a quiet place to celebrate my birthday. He wished me well on my upcoming birthday and he said he was going to send something up to my room later on. He gave me his business and told me to call him personally if there was anything that I need help with or have any other questions. Adolfo truly was an amazing asset to this property!
The room was small but very well laid out and yes, with an amazing sea view! I especially love the shower area with a view!
A few minutes after our luggage were brought up, someone had brought in the usual welcome gifts of assorted fruits and Xtabentun - a fitting gift I must say! An hour later, another gift arrived - a chilled bottle of sparkling wine and chocolate covered strawberries. Wow! That was simply amazing. Intercontinental Hotels really take care of their guests down to the smallest detail. Intercontinental De La Ville Roma did the same to me at exactly the same day last year!
After settling down, I decided to go down to check out the rest of the amenities of the property. The property has two pool areas. Both are amazingly inviting. The main was gets busy but there's also another pool for adults only ( 18+ and a quiet zone as well). The beach area was simply breathtaking. There were plenty of palapas or huts and beach chairs so there was no problem
getting one even if you go there late in the morning. Had a dip in the adult pool and it was a total relaxing experience. The subtle music from an outdoor speaker made the atmosphere even more amazing. There are a few private cabanas for rest with sitting area, day beds, big screen TV , bar set up, etc...
I didn't try any of the restaurants because after being in an amazing all-inclusive hotel for a week, I want to check out the local restaurants that are closeby. Having said that though, I did check out the room service menu and the menus of the restaurants and they offer amazing and delectable selections and all very reasonably priced.
On the 2nd night, the kitchen sent up another dessert plate and they said it was another birthday present from them. Amazing! I was honestly really honoured for the goodness and the hospitality shown to me during my short stay.
Thank you Presidente Intercontinental Cancun for the awesome service and great birthday treats. It was for another awesome birthday experience and celebrating it in one of another Intercontinental Hotels was the perfect end to an amazing 9 day of family celebrations.
I cannot recommend this place enough! [Less]
